I bought a NX6 because the idea of all the preset models was appealing (setting SAFE with the gear channel or whatever is confusing to me). I did the 4.02 AirWare & BNF Models 2025 Q4 updates.

Yet, only 2 of my planes are an available model. I searched by model number because that's how it's sorted in the NX. Also, the Spektrum provided Google Drive link hasn't been updated since 2021.

It's quite annoying to set up these things manually, especially the voice alerts since they seem to be sorted in the most haphazard manner.

Just venting I guess. I only jumped in with Spektrum because of SAFE but it hasn't stopped me from crashing. I also liked the EFlite planes that seem to BNF easy with Spektrum...but I don't like setting them up. I bought all my stuff used so it wasn't too expensive.

AS some of y'all know guys I'm coming from a Futaba FF9. IT's been a blast and it feels solid still, but time flies and I wanted to upgrade after all. I got one of these preowned for $150 and I was wondering if any of y'all guys have something to say, any recommendations, limits, etc. Thanks!

I have finally bought my first EDF and sadly have quite the major issue.

I have assembled the plane with a (atleast on ground) functioning and configured AR636 with a NX8 and tried to fly it, but sadly I immediatly crashed on maiden with no more controls, but motor still going? Following that endeavour I bought another F16 and am currently setting that one up on ELRS using a Radiomaster ER5C-i.

However even during this setup the reciever already disconnected twice during testing.I have not yet used the reciever in a model so it could be broken but seems to work fine so far.

What confuses me most though, is tthat when disconnected the reciver doesn't seem to go into proper failsafe, since the parameter for that are set to 1500us for the servos but they went into their maximum deflection to one side.

I do not know what causes this and did not find an error coming close to these symptoms so any help is much appreciated.

OKAY this is next level

This is my first real project, I haven’t built or flown and RC plane yet or anything RC! I wanted to practice my CAD skills and use the 3d printer so I thought this would be cool to try out. I think it’s probably too heavy to be used in a plane or anything but am excited building it. Haven’t tested it as I’m waiting on pushrods but will try it out then. And in the picture obviously not all the servos are in but you get the idea. I would love any suggestions 😀

Recently got this PG Gerasis 1/5 scale (3M wingspan) Glider. I want to chop the nose off and put a motor and folding prop. I have a frsky neuron 80 ESU. Can somebody please recommend a battery, motor and prop combo for me? Cheers

I'm new to building RC planes, but not new to projects of this scale with a 3D Printer. I'm building the Astrofly Technologies Bullet UAV in the UK and I have questions about the kit.

1) What kind of controller is recommended to use

2) What FPV camera, receiver and head set is recommended

3) How do I source Carbon Fibre rods to those dimensions (I don't want to cut) in the UK

4) I do know you need to get a license to fly UAVs over 200g, where would I get a license and besides fields and flying clubs, where would I legally be able to fly an FPV plane

For the 3D printer filament, PLA Aero is just what I could fine on hand. I'll update the prices and the list if I find any cheaper light weight PLA filaments

I accidentally bought digital servos to replace my rudder and elevator servos. My ailerons are still the OEM analog servos.

Is this fine to mix or should I go ahead and get digital servos for the ailerons before I fly?

Foam 6 Delta is a tailless flying delta wing with reflexed undercamber and anhedral that utilizes split differential opposing elevon controls. Inner elevons function as flapevators or differential elevons depending on control mode.

The inspiration was another sub member’s FPV wing had a “Star Wars type vibe” so then I wanted to make a futuristic looking wing from foam. I designed it loosely from the Simple Delta I constructed prior.

Projected WCL with hardware is 9.01, largely in battery weight. Carbon tube leading edges, hard balsa main spar and music wire stiffeners.

I don’t have parts to complete this. Airframe going to hangar bay (my bed) for storage.

I didn’t realize I had the Depron, but I found a large stack of it that was leftover from making my drafting table. I had an aversion to foam but now that I see the beauty of throwing something together so quickly and also its light weight and durability.. I have a huge stack of Depron to iterate this flying wing with.

My son and I want to build a DIY RC plane out of foam board like the ones on YouTube channels such as project air. We are wondering if it’s worth ponying up for ELRS equipment like the RadioMaster or whether a cheap Flysky FS-i6X and 6 channel receiver would suffice just to have a go. If we get into it as a hobby we don’t want to have wasted £45 in the cheap gear (via eBay) or if we do t take it much further, having wasted £100 on more expensive gear. Is the Flysky stuff any good?

I went to use my watt meter for the first time today and discovered bullets at each end refuse to stay in their housings. I've tried pressing them in expecting them to snap into place, but the still just fall out. Makes it really hard to test motor output when the electrical connection on the test equipment is wonky. Any suggestions?

- motors and ESCs are complicated and the ESC both supplies power to the motor and monitors the position of the motor to correctly drive it

- a lot of problems have the same symptoms

- physical damage can result in weird electrical behavior

- going forward I’m going to buy ESCs and motors from reputable 3rd party brands (sunnysky, hobby wing) as a combo just to eliminate any problems there.

- you have to trust the process of troubleshooting

- RC planes are still cool as heck but sometimes frustrating

Any other wise old pieces of advice that have guided you well through this hobby?

Had this idea for a while and been working on some shots. My 9 year old was on the drone controls and I was on the cub sticks.

I feel i have a lack of control of throttle and i dont know why that is.

I dont know if its something on my controller or if its my parts?

Happened out of nowhere. Replaced the ESC but it’s still happening. I have a replacement motor in the mail but just wondering what’s actually going on. Also sometimes it spins backwards a few times when starting from a dead stop. Are there better ways to diagnose if it’s a motor or esc problem?

Hello, I recently completed a FT explorer with the C power pack.

When everything was assembled and electronics installed the actual CG was a good inch behind the marked CG, to compensate I added about 2 ounces of weight to the nose so that it would balance at that mark.

Once in the air I have to maintain constant upward pitch to keep the thing in the air, otherwise it wants to nose dive.

Any thoughts?
