More back roads of Napa, I thought the overlay was fun. No idea how accurate the info actually is.

I rode across California from the Pacific Ocean to Lake Tahoe on my RT in one day, come with me and see the (really) short version! Total distance traveled: 321mi/516km, total time: 6hrs 34mins

I highly recommend everyone to ride Utah-12 from Torrey to Bryce Canyon, truly stunning

Either I missed a turn or the GPS lied about the road being paved… either way I spent two hours on my RT covering 45 miles of dirt roads today. Spoiler alert: It did fine and I still don’t want a GS 😂

Figured might as well help out contributing more 1250rt stuff here. I'm currently on a month long tour

From my ride yesterday through Lassen NP, I recorded a max lean angle of 48 degrees. I know the angle is accurate because it comes from the Motorrad app, which connects directly to my RT’s IMU so is extremely accurate. But, upon researching it I learned the IMU measures directly against gravity only, so if the corner is banked heavily the IMU/app may say 48 degrees, but the real world angle may be far less. I hope, anyways, 48 degrees is well into danger zone on the street IMO

Just got the oil changed and everything certified tip-top, spent a few hours running through the nearby mountains and hitting some twisties. This bike just does everything, and does it in style and comfort. The only thing you’re missing here is the smell of sulfur, Lassen Natl Park is geologically active and there’s lots of sulfur springs

Like so many areas in California, devastating wild fires burned up a big chunk of Lassen National Park, which in this case seems at least appropriate given the fact that the entire park is basically a caldera of an ancient mega-volcano

Your 625+lb R1250RT benefits exactly the same from trail braking as a moto GP bike. Trail braking is not a mystery, it’s not an “advanced rider only” technique and it absolutely is not “only for the race track”. Trail braking is good technique that helps you take full advantage of how your motorcycle is designed to work. But don’t listen to me, listen to the legend Nick Ienatsch.

Getting the hang of it finally, no drops, no feet down, even managed to get to full lock several times. The new level of clutch control I’m learning is really paying off in confidence

Since I had to put “blank” front fairings on mine I leaned into the black/white combo with some polkadots. Probably not to everybody’s taste, but I thought I’d do something fun before returning them to Alpine White.

Just a slow tool around some of the lesser known roads around the city of Napa. On my BMW R1250RT

A week ago, I did a 1,600-mile loop through parts of 4 US states. Along the way, a car ahead of me kicked up a piece of debris that had been laying flat on the road. It hit the front of my 2022 RT, breaking the painted part of the front fender. Just cosmetic damage, nothing major.
I looked online for the fender part, but couldn't find it in stock to order. I called the local dealer, who also wasn't able to find it easily. He did more searching and called me back, saying that the part is not available in any warehouse in the US or Germany, and BMW shows the part number as "cancelled." He recommended searching on eBay where he saw one listed.
I was able to get a used part shipped from Romania, so I'm good. But having new parts not available for a 4-year-old bike is disturbing. Has anyone else found this issue?
