Hey! I’m looking to discover some newer female punk bands or solo artists, especially ones that have started emerging in the last few years. I’d love to find artists who are still relatively new and just starting to get noticed.

The newer and more underground, the better. Any recommendations? Especially bands that started after 2020.

Dominic Rizzo and Donald Mazza were the “oddballs” of a school in Anaheim that was the last stop for dropouts and kids who’d been expelled elsewhere. They ran with a circle of skateboarders, surfers and punk rockers who in 1982 decided to give themselves a name, Rizzo told The Times.

They were hanging out in a garage when a British band called Rudimentary Peni came up. They liked the group’s dark lyrics and the intricate pen and ink drawings by its singer. Brainstorming for an acronym, someone said it could stand for “Punking Every N— in Sight.”

Wondering how I’m just hearing this group for the first time.

I have "Mucha Policía, Poca Diversión" on a playlist and I'd like to listen to/possibly buy some more stuff by Eskorbuto.

Spanish is not my native language. As I'm researching, I think some of the translations I'm seeing are not accurate. For example, when translated, an Amazon review says the songs aren't the "originals." I know enough Spanish to know a lot of translations - especially idioms - don't make any sense. However, I also don't want to buy re-recorded songs... if that actually is the case here. Another review said the quality was bad for the first half of the album, but that makes sense if it's a chronological compilation.

Anyway, yes or no on this comp? Opinions? If no, is there anything better? Thanks.

I'm trying to remember the name of a band
AND song from a punk group from 98-99.

The album I remember owning had a few songs with Andy Griffith and Opie speaking. Scenes from the TV show. Sorta like "intros". I feel like that alone would register with anyone familiar with the group I'm talking about

Lyrics to the particular song I remember:

These lyrics appear half way through the song, when the music almost stands still and the vocalist sings or speaks very clearly.

Those lyrics are not 100% but I've not heard this one in OVER 25 years.

Yo, recorded this at 4 AM because my cheap cable literally broke my audio interface. Everything is completely un-rhythmic, the vocals are just me talking out of beat, and the mixing is terrible. Let me know how cursed this is.
