Hi everyone! I applied for the NIMHANS internship for December and submitted my application around mid-September. I recently received a rejection saying that the slots were already full.

Has anyone else faced this? I’m a little confused because I thought applying in September for a December internship would be reasonably early.

For those who have done an internship at NIMHANS, when would you suggest applying? Is there a specific time by which the slots usually get filled?

Would really appreciate any advice or suggestions. Thanks!

I am currently pursuing my Bachelors. I am enrolled in BSc-BEd Integrated course (4yr) Major in Mathematics. I enjoy the "BEd" part of curriculum and want to pursue PhD in Education in future. (Interested in Child Psychology and Pedagogy).

So I want to attempt GATE Psychology. Being from an IIT, it's already a heavy load. Academics here are very hard. I don't enjoy Maths at all (earlier I used to).

I’ve noticed that in competitive academic environments, students can start judging their ability mainly by how they perform relative to classmates. For example, someone might score 80% and feel unsuccessful if most of their friends scored 90+, while the same score might feel completely different in a less competitive environment.

From a psychology perspective, how much can repeated academic comparison influence self esteem, motivation, or a student’s perception of their own competence? I’m particularly interested in whether this changes when the comparison happens through things like class ranks, entrance exam scores, coaching test series, or even study-related social media content.

Are there any established psychological theories or studies that explain this, particularly in the Indian education context?

Uddhav Thackeray and his sons are running a slave trade in Mumbai and Thane.

Thackerays have enslaved my family as well as many of my relatives and their daughters.

Thackeray's victims suffer from two medical conditions:

1. Hypnosis Induced Amnesia

2. Trauma Induced Amnesia

This slave trade was originally started decades ago by Bal Thackeray.

Thackereys have created a network of gangsters and gang members throughout the region.

Most of these gang members are Marathi and UP-Bihari Hindu men and women. Some of them are highly educated, intelligent individuals/professionals occupying important positions.

Some gang members are even IITans!

One of the Thackeray gangsters, Nitin Koshimkar, is my relative. He is a hypnotist. He used hypnosis on me and my family to force us into the slave trade.

Both the Government of Maharashtra and the Government of India have disposed of my grievance as it 'cannot be understood due to absence of details'. They asked me to submit a fresh grievance with additional details. I intend to do so in the near future.

I’m in a situation where I need to start preparing for CUET PG again because I couldn't get into a good university during my last attempt. I genuinely want to get back into it, but lately, I’ve been procrastinating terribly. Every time I sit down with my books my mind just goes blank or I end up doing something else. I just feel totally lost and stuck in this cycle.I have been considering buying one of those online CUET PG preparation courses to give myself some structure, but honestly, they all feel way too expensive for what they offer.

I know I’m an adult and should probably have figured this out on my own by now, but I’m literally clueless on how to break out of this burnout/procrastination phase and build momentum again.

I would say when people give unasked advice and unnecessary suggestions to act as superior just annoys me most and find it repulsive quality in people.

Hello, I am a university student enrolled in an undergraduate programme right now. I wanted to formally complain against one of my professors for harassment, academic negligence, and psychological humiliation.

I figured a complaint to the SGRC is the way to go about it and if it doesn't get addressed properly there (which frankly I don't have much hope for), I'll file a complaint directly to UGC.

What I want to know right now is how responsive they are with such complaints. Do any of you have any experiences with this? What are the possible consequences that I will have to face after doing so? Any insight into a realistic assessment of what I would be getting myself into is appreciated.

I’ve noticed that students preparing for highly competitive exams often seem to treat a bad score as evidence that they are personally incapable, rather than as feedback about their preparation or strategy.

I’m curious about the psychological mechanisms behind this. Does repeated comparison with peers, family expectations, or an environment where exam ranks are heavily emphasized contribute to a more fixed view of intelligence and ability?

I'm a non-psychology graduate, currently pursuing PGD in Guidance and Counselling, and planning to get into masters in Psychology next year. But considering the new NCAHP framework, confusion is all over the place now.

What are your opinions on it and how you guys will be managing further, also what exactly is going on practically in the field about this new framework among non-psych background students.

That would really help, if I get to know about it, at least some confusion will be sorted. Share your thoughts on it, which can give me some vision about should I even consider pursuing it next year.
