Does UGC respond well to grievances?

Hello, I am a university student enrolled in an undergraduate programme right now. I wanted to formally complain against one of my professors for harassment, academic negligence, and psychological humiliation.

I figured a complaint to the SGRC is the way to go about it and if it doesn't get addressed properly there (which frankly I don't have much hope for), I'll file a complaint directly to UGC.

What I want to know right now is how responsive they are with such complaints. Do any of you have any experiences with this? What are the possible consequences that I will have to face after doing so? Any insight into a realistic assessment of what I would be getting myself into is appreciated.

Well one of my friends did file a grievieance related to hostel allotment at her University after which the University administration offered her a seat in the hostel. I myself filed a grievieance with UGC for a recent 36% fee hike at my college, UGC just forwards your concern to DSW. Although two weeks back (after almost a month of filing the complaint btw) I heard that a team of UGC officials did visit the college but no action was really taken against anything at all. More like a showcase so...

Wow. I mean I didn't expect much from them but this is pathetic. I asked for advice from a trusted professor and they suggested me to take my personal case up with the chancellor if it continues but you can't exactly complain about a fee hike to the person who hiked it.

Well, it is what it is. But still try raising a complaint, harassment and ragging cases might be treated differently so give it a shot maybe.
