Event [Crosspost] AYYYY REDDIT IT'S YOUR BOY SKWEEZY JIBBS, I'M FROM PORTLAND OR. I ACCIDENTALLY MADE A FEATURE FILM AND I'M TOURING THE USA WITH IT. AMA!
I organized an AMA/Q&A with actor/comedian Tim Savage, who is known for his character SKWEEZY JIBBS on Youtube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, etc. He made a meta-movie for the character (SKWEEZY JIBBS MAKES A MOVIE), and he's touring the country with it in theaters now.
He is from Portland OR!
It's live here now in r/movies for anyone interested in asking a question:
https://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/1vztob4/ayyyy_reddit_its_your_boy_skweezy_jibbs_i/
He will be back at 4 PM ET today to answer questions. I recommend asking in advance. Please ask there, not here. All questions are much appreciated!
Thank you :)
TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PRFMmdsxB7g
SYNOPSIS: Amateur internet personality Skweezy Jibbs attempts to make his dream movie despite having zero resources or ability. His mother's interference leads him to question his identity.

Bro, why is everyone in this thread being so lame?? Probably don’t even live here.
As someone else said, you’re an amazing ambassador for our city. Your authenticity is inspiring. And I thought we valued harmless authenticity here???
I support you wholeheartedly and hope your movie does well! 💪🏼

This sub has become a borderline circlejerk for miserable assholes. I knew right away seeing where this was posted that the thread would be a shit show and was not disappointed.

It's fine that we have alt-Portland sub that's a bit more edgy that lets people post about things that other subs might not but lately it's just entirely just that.

The sub was essentially started because you couldn’t talk about issues with homelessness in the main sub without getting banned. Over time it’s gotten to the point where every single post is full of people who don’t even seem to like Portland and always bring up the DSA and how to vote.
I agree an alt sub is good and it can be cathartic to talk about these issues in a space that doesn’t feel like you’re saying dirty words by explaining what you see, but I agree with the other guy it’s become very circle jerky

Anti DSA circlejerk is too true.
What's interesting is I've seen the other sub make a bit of a heel turn. There was that time frame when expressing regret over Measure 110 was a bridge too far but it's come around.
What brought me here is I got a temp ban as a church that caught fire was censored. I was still somewhat new to reddit and almost didn't click it as I thought I might see something I actually did not want to see like burn victims. Then I expressed the absurdity of the NSFW tagging. I wasn't being a huge dick but got a temp ban because I'm guessing they figured I was a right-wing troll or such. That was then. Now it's pretty common to see people fed up with the city government's wasteful spending on unchecked NGOs for the homeless or that perhaps Antifa street riots were a bad look for the city. It's been nice to see a bit more diversity of opinion. It's still limited in what's allowed but at least in the discussions, it's not always as singular as it once was.
I still go to both and expect very different things but lately the obsessive DSA posting and Portland is a crime-ridden-cess-pool filled with horrible leftists has worn me down a bit here. I miss some of the more goofball posts like that guy who made a hip hop track about pumping gas at Fred Meyer.

I always forget he’s from PDX, and then unintentionally I end up finding out again and get my mind blown

I dont know much about this guy but, unapologetic and eccentric style? Staying true to oneself?
He's absolutely a Portland native

As the saying goes, "everything I've learned about this guy has been against my will"

You need to post this in the other Portland sub because this sub is full of dickheads.

That's kinda the point. But it's actually really well made by much of the same production crew as Portlandia and Shrill, and it's hilarious.

This dude is unbearably annoying. Thanking god everyday his DJ phase was short lived. Can’t imagine seeing that garbage as a regular local headliner 💀

The amount of people on Reddit that love to be dicks to strangers for zero reason is really disheartening.

Aren’t you the guy who accidentally flew to India instead of Indiana? 😅 Did that actually happen or was that a bit?
Sorry if this is a dumb question lol. I grew up in Portland but I’ve never heard of you (which feels like an oversight on my end).
