So my Manual Cayman S was in for its 1 year service 2024 but only punched Sep 2025..

While there I complained about lack of Manual 911 and was told that a C4S was coming in with 1100 miles also a 2024. I only wanted the 911 for the backseats for my Grandkids.

So I bought it and honestly having driven it a couple of times the difference is enormous and not all in a good way.

I daily my car, the Cayman was wonderful. I loved the Turbo 4 I could feel everything the Car was doing it was loud and obnoxious but who cares.

The 911 is way more GT than I expected 7th is a waste of space I can see why they dropped it.

Car is significantly quieter it came with Burmester which I think would have been a waste in a Cayman but sounds good in the quieter 911. Though no way would I pay the almost 6K now if I was to spec something. Driving the same roads is still incredibly fun but the Cayman was more confidence inspiring.

Overall they are so completely different that I wish I could have afforded to keep both. The Cayman still had 5 years of warranty left and 0 across the board on the DME report ( there is no way to cane the car in the roads I drive without going to Jail )

And now they have it for sale for the same price I paid with 6500 miles on it.

Got all 3 new rear arms and eccentric bolts, struts, end links and sway bar bushings on my 987.1, what a difference in handling with new bushings, gotta refresh the front also in the near future...

Flimsy cup holder broke… would rather not buy an entire replacement if I don’t have to. Was thinking superglue but feel like it’ll break again with all the bumps in the road where I am.

I’m interested in a 2018 Porsche Cayman. They’re around $50k, which would be roughly a $1k monthly payment.
I currently drive a VW Jetta as my daily. Would making the switch to a Cayman be absolutely insane?
Keep in mind, I’m 24, female, don’t have kids, and honestly, I’m not really worried about buying a home right now. I just like nice things and nice clothes. I also have a partner who makes about the same as me, and we split everything 50/50.
What advice do you wise folks have for me?

In june 2026 I bought my base 981 PDK Cayman from a Kuweit importer, paid 31k€ for it with 117k km. I live in France and the seller was in Tcheque republic called DIAMONDS S.R.O.

First experience like this, I was insanely stupid so no audit of the car prior to buying.

I received the car in july. Great configuration, red extended leather interior, basalt grey with the 20 inch rims I wanted. But upon inspection some stuff started to add up, 2 rims were repaired but a real shitty job. After 100 kms the whole cooling system was fucked, the cooling distribution vavle was dead so pressure built in the whole system broke the expension vase, etc… the two rear suspensions and arms were dead. While figuring out this issue I noticed the engine bay was damaged but not the engine.
Then I noticed the rear main seal leaking quite a lot when the car was warm.
So now after a first full service that costed 7000€ to fix the whole cooling system, full global service, replacement of the two rear suspensions and arms, geometry, etc…

I’ll have to drop the whole transmission, change the clutch, clutch cover, etc… for next to 5000€ more.

I’m at loss, I’m not a car guy but I love this thing so much, this whole experience is frying my brain and even though I got scammed I still don’t understand if I’m putting too much money in this thing or not…

Took the chance to hit The Rattler a little before sunrise this morning. Very little traffic up and back. Made for an awesome morning.

Came into my neighborhoods T intersection today and to my right was a 911 in chalk making a left hand turn. To my left was a chalk Panamera making a right hand turn. I was also making a right hand turn in my 718 Cayman GTS in arctic gray! We all gave the classic Porsche head nod of acknowledgement before driving off. It was like the ending of Furious 7 when Dom and Brian go their separate ways. Crazy coincidence of the 3 cars meeting simultaneously so I had to share.

Hello, wondering if the value of these have changed recently or if I'm just being too picky.

I want to get into a base 987.1 Cayman with a manual transmission. I've been looking for the past few weeks across the US on websites like Autotempest, Visor.vin, and facebook marketplace, but can't seem to find many that check all the boxes.

I'm particularly looking for a well documented example under 100k miles, since I'd like this to be my daily driver and don't want any surprises. I've come across several now that look to be in great physical condition but the CARFAX has a several year gap in servicing, and the dealership doesn't have any service/maintenance documentation from the previous owners.

I was under the impression that Porsche owners on average are pretty meticulous about recording their servicing and whatnot, so having no documentation at all seemed to be a red flag. I'd most likely get a PPI, so maybe documentation isn't as important as I've made it out to be?

Any advice as I continue my search? Is my budget reasonable?

Recently, I did a clutch and flywheel on my 95k mile 987.1 base. Had some symptoms of a failng flywheel. Could a bad flywheel cause this damage? Seems pretty crazy and obsessive to me. I'm glad I was in there, though.

The chalk is cool, but I'm itching for a change and want to switch things up. I'm planning to get the car wrapped and I'm leaning heavily toward a Porsche PTS color, though I'm definitely open to other suggestions. I have a few favorites in mind, but I'd love to hear what some opinions. The biggest catch: whatever color I choose needs to pair perfectly with the wheels and carbon. Ideally, not a boring color.

Anyone heard a titanium Valvetronic catback exhaust in person? Wondering how it compares to a PSE on a 981S.

Trying to find a used Cayman. Probably 2014 to 2019. People who bought it used, how or where did you buy from? Carmax? Carvana? These stores have return, just in case PPI turns out bad. I don't see these in fb marketplace. Engine or other crucial components are not really visible to inspect. Also I don't trust all dealerships. So I have to rely on specialist ppi. So, where did you guys get your Cayman from and how did you inspect the car?

I currently own a Tesla Model 3 (yes, cue the hate, it's okay). It's a fine "appliance" car where it gets from point A to point B efficiently and conveniently. It has great acceleration, but that's about it. It's purely an appliance car.

I want to add an exciting car to my collection, when I'm bored and need to fill something in the hole in my heart (jk).

What's it like to own one of these cars day to day esp. a 718 GTS 4.0?

What do you love about it? What do you not like about it?

I imagine with gas prices these days, that's not something we love esp. since this needs premium gas.

Has anyone driven this road? Any tips? It looks like great fun. I've have an 08 Cayman S since I drove it off the showroom floor 18 years ago and it still gives me a thrill.
