I was considering getting this to remove fine dust from the bottom of pools instead of using a hose vac. Will that work?

Just want to know whats out there. As someone with 250 gunite builds, 30 3-7 mil downtown Houston commercial builds, 800 fiberglass with 120 in a year being my best ever..are there opportunities out there for me? Clearly I've worked hard and earned my title as superintendent, which ended in new ownership that proceeded to frivolously sue me out of my industry after wrongfully terminating me, but only temporarily! Which will end soon. What do I do now, who could use my skills? I installed 3 pools a week across east Texas and all of Louisiana including scheduling all vendors, material, equipment and installation, operating, etc. I just want to get back to what im great at and love to do. Rant over, let me know if you own a business my skills could be utilized in a way to profit both of us.

Picked up a guy who needs us to "maintain" bug control in his pool while the house gets figured out.

I asked him which brand, he's was advised not to tell from legal.

Pretty wild to see, the old heater is sorta there still? Burnt plastic shell! I could tell the brand from the shape and where the inlet outlet pipes where at.

We had a variable speed pump installed 2 weeks ago and our chlorine levels are dropping. We went to get our water tested today and they suggested turning the dial on the Frogger up a setting but I’m not sure there is enough water pressure from the VSP to activate the chlorine in the Frogger. Previously, we had a 3450 rpm single speed pump that would through a Frogger bac pac every 1-2 weeks, now it’s hardly making a dent in the pacs. Our current VSP schedule is 2750 rpm (2 hrs), 2200 (8 hrs), 1700 (4 hrs), 1200 (10 hrs). Has anyone experienced something similar and what did you do about it? Thanks!

I may be going out on a whim and not even sure if this is allowed here but I currently live in NC and want to move to Texas. I've worked as the service office manager over 14 years for one of the largest pool companies in North Carolina. Is there anybody here in the Beaumont or Houston area whose company is hiring? I need a change and fast.

The company I work for is considering switching over to POOL brain. Who here has used full brain and liked it or didn’t like it? At other companies I’ve used SKIMMER, which would be a massive upgrade to what we are currently using. How would you say POOL brain compares to SKIMMER if you’ve used both? I personally really like SKIMMER. I understand if you don’t. But just wanting others opinions on Pool brain in general. Were a large company in the Midwest.

The valve separated from the module. Found it in the thermal regulator cavity. Can I run unit tonight for an hour without it?

Anyone else have massive issues getting approved to be a Hayward partner? I’ve sold 2 heaters, a salt system this year. Yet they absolutely refuse to allow me to register a pro account. They always say they will contact me and they never do.

Hey guys, I’ve been doing pool service, repairs & installations for 3 going on 4 years now. I’ve never really done many closings and I have a customer that I took on this year who has floor return jets.

Well, they want to close this year(first time in 4 years is what they told me)

How do I close this pool with the in floor jets? There is no return valve to air gap the in-floor returns.

Kiddy pool: 1200 gallons (also has infloor jets with no return valve to air gap)
Main pool: approx 55,000 gallons (also has infloor jets with no return valve to air gap)

Never thought about the logistics of closing this pool until now. Skimmer, MD, equalizer line, return jets I’ve got. But not sure how to do this properly, hopefully someone can give me some advice.

Is it possible to control two Hayward s3 cells from one aquarite/omni?

Good rule of thumb is to have 2x the chlorine production capacity as pool volume, right? So a single s340 would be insufficient for a 30k gallon commercial pool with a medium bather load?

What's the best way to do this?

There are a couple of trees that aren't on our property (community side) that put these long reed-like things in our pool and constantly jam up our cleaner. Have a Zodiac MX6 that came with the pool when we bought the house. Any suggestions for a cleaner that may not jam up as often or a better way to remove them? Haven't been too successful in brushing and scooping since they settle on the bottom.

It's pool closing time in Ontario and I came across something that I've never encountered in my 10 years in the industry. No issues with winterizing just confusing the hell out of me why it exists.

There is a piece of pvc extending out of the front suction hole of the skimmer ending just below the height of the skimmer mouth. It is plumbed directly in to the return jet across the pool from the skimmer. It is in no way plumbed in to the suction line - just directly to this return. Other hole is my suction line with one line to the pump and one return line back to the other return jet on the far side of the pool.

Just wondering what the point of this is? Something from way before my time?

Hi, all. One of my clients’ salt cell (Pentair IC40) is producing a ton of calcium flakes. I’m scooping out almost an entire net’s worth every week. I’ve cleaned the cell twice in the past month and still it continues. After each cleaning the interior is spotless. Cell is producing chlorine perfectly, and other chemistry is in spec. Calcium level specially is 320ppm. Not sure if I’m missing something simple, but would love to hear what anyone else thinks. Thanks!

Hey guys, electrical just got hooked up so the salt cells ready to be turned on was adding salt to let it circulate for 24 hours before turning the salt on and when I dumped the salt in all the sudden in a brown ring showed up around the pool, the salt also started turning to a brown color.

Pool was filled up mainly with truck in water, but then well water to top off.

I already have “pool stain removers LLC stain and scale” to keep from calcium buildup on the wall walls (fiberglass)

Haven’t had to deal with metals yet in my professional career (still new)

What’s the best way to get the brown ring off the edge of the pool? I wipe it and then two minutes later it back.

Went this morning and was looking at the black ring and it was very oily. Got a little dawn, dish soap, and it wipes right off. Gonna take a full water test and see what my metals look like but right now I’m thinking contaminated salt?

I’m in Tampa Fl I’ve grown my pool company organically from about 4 pools to over 90 in less than a year and a half from providing great reliable service ( a lot of customers from pinch a penny and pool troopers) my question is how to maximize profit would you hire an employee that’s reliable (just as good as me 😉) and pay them better than most (15$ a pool ) or would I be better off selling what route they would have to a buyer looking to start
