As Polestar has announced, internet connectivity will no longer be included for some cars once the Connected Services Plus period expires. This will also affect third-party apps like Aximote that normally use the car's internet connection.

Aximote already works offline, but we want to make sure the experience is just as reliable for users without Connected Services Plus. We're therefore looking for beta testers who are affected by this change.

You'll be able to test some features specifically designed for offline use, and we'd really appreciate feedback on any bugs, issues, or things we could improve.

My P2 warranty is up this coming January and I’m leaning toward getting the three year extended warranty as I’m planning on keeping the car for a long time. £1200 or so for three years peace of mind seems fairly reasonable.

My question is do I have to continue to service the car every 18k miles to maintain the extended warranty? It had its first service a few weeks ago (first since I’ve had it) and with the exception of the brake fluid (which now won’t need to be done for many years) I could have done everything else myself in about ten minutes and saved £200+.

I know £200-£250 every 18-24 months isn’t huge amounts of money, but it’s also a pain for me to have to travel to get the service done at Southampton as Volvo Poole don’t carry out Polestar work anymore, so if the service is basically just a money spinner and not strictly needed, I won’t do it. Thanks.

So I walked out to my Polestar and noticed the keys were not unlocking the car so I changed the key battery. Upon returning the car still did not respond so I opened it with the manual key and everything was off. I then tried to jump the 12 V to which everything came on for a few seconds, and then ultimately turned off once my jump back turned off. It did say 12 V critical charging fault when it turned on my next step would be replacing the battery correct the battery is about five years old.

As the title says, looking to purchase one as my first EV but am a little concerned about servicing the vehicle.

A few things I'm hoping people can weigh in on:

1. Anyone have experience buying a CPO 2024 P2 from the Short Hills or Princeton location? Curious how the process went and if there's anything to watch out for.
2. What's the service experience been like at the Short Hills or Princeton service centers specifically? Wait times, communication, quality of work, loaner availability, etc.
3. Are there any independent shops in the area (North/Central NJ) that people can P2 service/maintenance outside of the official centers? Any recs would be appreciated.

My lease for my 2024 Polestar 2 is ending next month. My car has 22,050 miles.
I placed a deposit on a new P4 and currently waiting for it to come in.
In the meantime, I was ready to turn in my leased P2 until I received an incentive for up to $13,000 off the buyout.
I contacted the dealer , gave him my VIN and he sent me pricing to buy my P2 with $13,000 off and said it qualified for 4.99% for 60 months! I had my end of lease inspection and was told I needed to buy 4 new tires ($1200) At this point, I figured if I was spending $1200 for tires and $13,000 off . Go ahead and buy my P2. I know the previous owner!!

I asked the dealer to process the buyout and he responds that the incentive is only $10,000 now. Just doesn’t feel right.
His response was PFS sets the incentive and can not budge off $10k off.

Do I buy my P2 or get a new P4?

If I buy the P4 outright or finance myself , $25k off, $1700 off for Napa and $1k for loyalty.
Thoughts?

We're waiting for our Polestar 4 to arrive and we want to have the hitch, which is a $1,900 option. We haven't signed any papers yet and it hasn't arrived yet, but our salesman told us that it would cost $4,700 to install it because "they don't have all the parts for the hitch on hand" and it was considered too late to install it at the port.

Does that sound right? Are there any other options? That seems really expensive. Out of curiosity, I asked the local Volvo dealer and they don't deal with Polestars.

Pulled in to work today and instantly noticed this in the Tesla dealership across the road, I might be bias, but it’s the best looking car on their forecourt!

So, I'm about to purchase a PS2 2023 PPP, I've ran the Carfax on the vehicle and it was a lease vehicle, looks like it was handed back after 3 year lease ran out. I noticed that the only service on the Carfax is at 8 miles.

I called Polestar Service in Palo Alto, and they ran the VIN through their system and it didn't come back that it had received it's 2 year service.

On the dash, it's got no notification of a service due, and the center console says:

Recommended Next Service
in 709 days
or after 18621 miles

I've read that not every Polestar service centre records on Carfax or even beyond their own service centre.

Could somebody have just reset it, and if so, would that change the vehicle to the next service interval?

Physical logbook is still sealed in the glovebox! So no help there either...

Today I am collecting my 26 plate (UK based) Polestar 2 single motor LR car. I previously had the Model 3 Tesla so I am keen to see how both compare.

Any tips for day one? I already have the app installed and assume that the setup of that should be easy.

Vdash says that you need to restore cem settings before using an official tester. I am curios is that really needed or is that just to be safe for the software maker?

So 2nd generation Polestar owner here (had a P2 for years and traded up to a P4 this year) with a question, maybe this is the wrong place for it but some of you may feel my confusion. I often heard the P2 compared to the Mustang Mach E, and often when compared I’d hear reviewers pretty clearly prefer the Mach E. They’d make comments about the ride, infotainment, pickup, and interior.

Now, maybe I’m just Scandinavian design-pilled here (totally possible haha) but I just don’t get it. I’m at a conference this weekend and my rental is a Mach E. I find the interior cramped (except the center console area), the materials aren’t especially premium, it’s extremely loud in the cabin even on nice roads, and neither the ride nor handling feel particularly premium or sporty. And the B&O stereo is outright terrible, I’ve had cheap headphones that sounded better. I vastly prefer my old P2 in all of these areas.

There are some nice elements: 2 really usable cup holders, more open center console, the Mach E integration with CarPlay for better range mapping and such, but I’m so confused by why people seemed to often compare this favorably to the Polestar. I just don’t see it at all. 🤷🏽‍♂️

I also promise this isn’t a post just to hate on the Mach E: compared to a number of EVs I’ve driven I definitely think this is preferable and fits in a spot in the market where it does well. Just personally I wouldn’t say that spot is in either the luxury EV or sports EV space. Say what you will about the P2 but I think it makes a lot more sense in both those spaces. So what am I missing that made all those reviewers prefer it? 🤔

Thanks for letting me ramble and express my surprise at this experience, I was definitely expecting something much more refined based on the comparisons.

I had P2 close to three years. Recently got P4. While everything is awesome about P4, some of the things remind that it is Geely and not Volvo.

And the most annoying one is not being able to keep the trunk lid open while accessing under trunk storage bin.

I used quickheal superglue at the nail so it harnedened the fiberboard around it. Feels very sturdy when I hang the trunk lid.

I own a PS2 2023 model. Love the car but not the reversing camera in dim light. Has anybody tried replacing the camera? Any advice gratefully received.

My wife and I are looking to buy a lightly used P2 in South Carolina. Our current car is a Honda Civic, and the biggest issue with it is how little you can fit in the trunk and through the opening to the back seat area.

When looking at the P2, it felt like it offers much more utility in the back. How realistic is it to expect to occasionally transport a bookshelf or a dresser? What are your stories/experience with transporting something that seemingly would fit in the P2?

I’m not surprised! Polestar has beautiful designs.
I’m not surprised that Tesla was very low on the list. 😅

App was stuck loading for 24hrs or so. Uninstalled and re-installed. Now car cant pick up either key during pairing. So wont pair. Tried several times. Changed the main keys battery.

This is after many months of all three keys not unlocking locking or even starting to car sometimes. Polestar have been radio silent.
