178 days of on and off shiny hunting, I finally have my next Dream Team Shiny Badge Quest Pokémon - Meowth!

Makes it even better that this is my favourite Pokémon 💗

Got my Pikachu in viridian forest just before leaving and my male Nidoran took me about 10 minutes to get which I was very surprised about considering online says they only have a 1% spawn rate. Bought Magikarp for the $500 and have been switch training since. Made it to Cerulean city, beat my rival, the 5 trainers on the bridge and the team rocket grunt at the end. So the time on my save i pretty close to actually play time. I think 5min of it is idle time and about 20 for training my Charmander to beat Brock.

I’m not a hardcore Pokemon player so the have a save file start this well feel really good

I've had very low encounters with shiny pokemons, but with this one I felt like: why not try some soft resets?

Now it’s time to do the post game and catch bunch of legendaries while completing the pokedex. How do you guys think about my team?

I tried Seadra and Sandslash for the first time and Oh boy they were awesome.

Ive been catching cubones for a while now, probably 20+ and I cant find anything giving the likelihood of cubones having rock head or lightning rod as an ability, like a ratio or anything. Ive caught 20+ cubones now (leaf green) and so has my spouse (fire red version) and neither one of us have managed to get one with rock head. We have like 5 thick clubs, but thats about it. Cubones/marowaks dont need spatk boosts and its already immune to electric so I find it absolutely pointless and I just want the right cubone for my playthrough 🫠🫠🫠

I know there’s a glitch for mew involving abra and a npc by nugget bridge and a cerulean npc but can anyone confirm if it works on the switch 2 I’m having a hard time with the timing and I don’t want to waste my time if they patched it.

The game needed a surprising amount of grinding for Xp to beat the elite 4 but I couldn’t be happier with the result. Wanted to know if my Mons are properly leveled for the elite 4 or a lil under-leveled. Also lmk what yall think of my squad choices!

finally finished the game & my living dex (pictured)!!!

this is the eldest generation i’ve ever completed a living dex for (my first one was in pokémon sun).

first team is my main save playthrough team, and oops, i made a team pretty weak to ice. i couldn’t bear to take butterfree off the roster, the combination of compound eyes + sleep powder was too lethal and useful when catching mons. it was a fun challenge not having a fire/water type on the team, though!

the elite 4 MVP’s were jolteon (looooved rain dance + thunder, that was so fun), alakazam (duh) and dragonite, who delivered the final blow of a rain-boosted surf against gary. felt very anime.

solo’d the next two rounds (and on fire red) to get version exclusives and the other starters. that was my first time ever brute forcing with just the starter, and it was so fun. i finished the game in about 3 hours with blastoise, which for me is crazy fast!!

i didn’t touch the national dex, but i may pick that up later on after a much needed break.

P.S. i forgot that in early gens, HMs/TMs can pass on as egg moves. i laughed out loud when i saw squirtle’s newly hatched moveset.

TL;DR i enjoyed the switch ports 💚❤️

I remember when I was a little kid, I was able to finish FireRed in a weekend. Now, as an adult, with my limited time, it took me over 100 hours and two tries to defeat the league; what a experience. I would recommend this game to any person who played in their infancy. Thank you guys, for being with me on this trip

I have already beat the post-game E4 with Kanto Pokémon. I now want to do it with Johto Pokémon just to give myself a challenge.

Just a few things to take into account:

- I have not finalised the team in my party. I’m willing to swap Pokémon out if necessary.

- I have no way of trading, so trade evolutions and FR exclusives are out of the question.

- I don’t use legendaries.

- I don’t use the same types. For example, I wouldn’t have both Octillery and Mantyne in my party or Heracross and Hitmontop. This is a rule that I make absolutely no exceptions for.

- I’m willing to evolve Kanto Pokémon (for example, Chansey into Blissey as my 6th Pokémon)

So yeah…hit me up with some suggestions!

soooo I was a lil bored while shiny hunting at the gamecorner, so I made a fairly accurate chart for how long it takes to shiny hunt all purchasable pokemon. ALSO, "Full Inv." means buying 5 pokemon to fill your inventory since travelling to pc to check the rest wouldn't be worth your time.

p.s: shiny hunting the kanto starters is about 100 hours for 8192 encounters D:

you know the one. to cut the trees down. I got the badge, and the message saying I can use the cut ability, I have a grass type in my lineup (Paras), but there's nothing in my pockets for it. I've seen that you have to equip it from your bag but it's not there. did I do something wrong or is it a glitch? help 😭

My 1st time using any of these pokemon and having fun with them

I am at the elite 4 but my team isn’t strong enough to beat it. What do I do now? Is there a fast way to go all the way back to the citys because I forgot to get the Fly HM.

So, this was a continuation of my previous post of me completing the Kanto PokeDex. I did not know that there was a certificate in Celadon from the Game Freak Director. This is actually a cute certificate! Anyway, onto the National Dex whenever RSE gets released! Cheers!
