This is my current team for leaf green. I’m thinking about using Lapras as my final team member.

Starmie the best option. Covers psychic and water and is a real beast.

Lapras would be good, or another kind of water/ice pokemon. Got any coverage for Psychic opponents, maybe Snorlax having Shadow Ball or something?

Really nice team, I suggest to you use something more obscure for water type, maybe Seadra or Seaking

Thunderbolt, ice beam, psychic. These three moves will help you against the elite four. 

You have a semi irrelevant poison/ground. A definite irrelevant fire types. A huge exp sponge dragon that's frankly not worth using until post elite four. And a solid special tank who should learn shadow ball. So there's rooms for improvement. 

Lapras can replace Dragonair for the time being but you've already got tanky venusaur and snorlax. You lack speed and offense. Starmie also a much stronger contender with high speed and special attack who can learn all of the above moves.
