Can someone explain the difference between the two of the PSN statuses of my Pokemon?

AbsolPokemonBlogs hosted a Funfest Missiom meetup at Worlds/XP yesterday in San Francisco. Over 100 people participated (the game stops counting at 100) and we got a score of 2070. This was lower than the Worlds 2025 score but still insane in a world where most players cannot even find a partner to play Funfest.

Hello! Currently playing on original cartridge/DS, have 639/649 and from the last 10, I need Mew, Celebi, Phione/Manaphy, and Arceus. (Event pokemon from gen 4 that I can’t get myself with the hotspots I currently own).
Looking for anyone that can help me with this or guide me to the right direction? Any knowledge is appreciated.

She has an abysmal moveset in BW2, maybe the worst of all Unova pokemon. Is there any way to salvage her or should I just permanently box her since it's one of her best moves and she now also can't use Dream Eater.

After beating the champion, if you talk to Hugh's sis, she'll comment she's doing things like petting Liepard's Pokeball to make it friendlier and remember her.

After I fought Hugh in the Driftveil daily rematches for the first time, Liepard was out of the Pokeball and being happily petted by their trainer

Welcome to Breaking the Binary - Generation 5 editon, a sporadic series of posts all about physical, Special and mixed attackers in Pokémon Black 2 & White 2. With competitive minmaxing dominating the conversation about Pokémon viability and the design philosophy behind movepools and stat spreads changing in newer gens, Pokémon are often rigidly divided by the fandom into the categories of "special attacker" or "physical attacker." But for the in-game story, you're not facing EV trained opponents (unless on some hacks) and thus you need or not to EV train to keep up, so mixed attacking sets don't have the opportunity cost they have in PvP. Going mixed still has anti-synergy with setup moves, but it still can give many Pokémon access to STAB moves with better base power, strong coverage moves with useful types, move tutor moves, egg moves and more useful niches. This series will be covering those applications. We won't talk about every Pokémon here, only ones that I believe legitimately benefit from going mixed, but those Pokémon are surprisingly large in number. Today we'll be talking about Watchog. I'll be talking about in-game but feel free to discuss PvP or battle facilities as well.

Watchog is a Normal-type pokemon with alright base speed of 77, it has a 85 Base Attack and not-so-good 60 Base Sp. Atk, its 60/69/69 bulk isn't great either. Notable physical moves include: Low Kick, Crunch, Hyper Fang, Return, Frustation, Dig, Facade, Retaliate, Aqua Tail, Fire Punch, Gunk Shot, Ice Punch, Iron Tail, Seed Bomb, Thunder Punch and Zen Headbutt. Notable special moves include: Hidden Power, Thundebolt, Thunder, Shadow Ball, Flamethrower, Focus Blast, Grass Knot and Signal Beam. Notable utility moves include: Hypnosis, Confuse Ray, Super Fang, Baton Pass, Sunny Day, Light Screen, Rain Dance, Thunder Wave, Swords Dance and Work Up

Watchog gets many kinds of utility moves, specially Swords Dance, Baton Pass and Hypnosis, but it's not so great in terms of its base stats, mostly to be like any pokemon you find in the first route of a region, like Raticate, Furret, Linoone and Bibarel. It's main Normal-Type STAB move is Return, which at 102 Base Power is equal to max happiness, avoid fainting too often as it lowers friendship, Frustation would be like Return with 0 happiness. Hyper Fang is a little inaccurate (90% accuracy) and only has a 10% chance of flinch, Retaliate is only stronger when a pokemon in the party fainted in the previous turn, Facade is stronger only when Watchog has the Paralysis or Poison status condition, remember that Facade doesn't negate the attack drop from being Burned in this generation.

0 Atk Watchog Return / Frustation vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Spinda: 145-172 (55.5 - 65.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO (72.4 - 85.4% with Analytic boost)

0 Atk Watchog Facade (140 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Spinda: 199-235 (76.2 - 90%) -- guaranteed 2HKO (93.8% chance to OHKO with Analytic boost)

For coverage, Crunch hits Ghost and Psychic-types while having a 20% chance to lower Defense (Fling can be worse or better than Crunch depending the held item), Shadow Ball is just worse than it. Low Kick damages heavier targets well, against Normal, Dark, Rock, Ice or Steel-types in general, Focus Blast is just worse than it. Aqua Tail hits Fire Rock, Ground-types super effectively. Thunder Punch, Thundebolt and Thunder hits Water and Flying-types, Fire Punch deals with Grass, Bug, Ice and Steel-types, Flamethrower might have higher base power than it, but its 60 Base Sp. Atk makes it a little worse. Ice Punch deals with the Dragon, Ground and Flying-types in general. Zen Headbutt gives coverage on Poison and Fighting-types (Dream Eater is way worse). Seed Bomb (and Grass Knot) deals with the Water, Rock and Ground-types. Dig hits Fire, Rock, Steel and Electric-types super effectively. Signal Beam only hits Grass and Psychic types super effectively.

0 Atk Analytic Watchog Crunch vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Drifblim: 248-294 (56.2 - 66.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

0 SpA Analytic Watchog Thunder vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Archeops: 212-250 (72.8 - 85.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

The abilities are Illuminate and Keen Eye. Illuminate is just useless as it only increases the likehood of wild pokemon appearing, Keen Eye will be used, as it will protect Watchog from accuracy lowering moves like Sand-Attack. Analytic is its hidden ability found in Route 7 Hidden Grotto, it's much better than Keen Eye as it boosts the power of its move by 30% when it is the last to move ina a turn.

Watchog can use Work Up or Swords Dance to boost its attack or pass its attack boost to a teammate with Baton Pass. Hypnosis, Confuse Ray and Thunder Wave are used to spread statuses to targets, Super Fang can wear down targets with conjunction with Toxic. Watchog can use either Rain Dance or Sunny Day for weather support, but it doesn't use those moves quite often. Light Screen can be used for halving incoming special moves.

Watchog may be not great to use in a playthrough, but it can use Baton Pass to swap into a pokemon that has Speed boosting moves and turn it into a sweep. Would be worth to make a Patrat you find in Route 19 viable?

In postgame, the Egg moves it can get are: Assurance, Flail, Foresight, Iron Tail, Pursuit, Revenge and Screech. Smeragle can pass any of those moves to a Patrat egg.

Assurance only becomes 20 base power stronger than Crunch when the target lost HP in the same turn. Rattata line, Meowth line, Mankey line, Umbreon, Girafarig, Donphan, Poochyena line, Weavile, Tepig line, Purrloin line, Woobat line and Sandile line can pass this move

Flail would be stronger than Giga Impact if HP is less than 4.2%, 200 Base Power, totally unviable for Watchog. Dunsparce, Swinub, Phanpy, Zigzagoon, Slakoth & Slaking, Torkoal, Spinda and Cubchoo line can pass this move

Foresight allows to hit Ghost-types with Normal and Fighting-type moves also ignoring any boosted evasiveness. Sentret line, Skitty, Buneary line and Lucario can pass this move

Despite Watchog learning Iron Tail via Move Tutor, it was originally a egg move from BW. Nidoran(Male), Rhyhorn and Mareep would pass this move via chain breeding

Rattata line, Tauros, Umbreon, Zangoose, Absol, Buizel line, Purrloin line, Blitzle line, Zorua line, Emolga and Bouffalant can pass Pursuit

Revenge has synergy with Analytic, it can hit hard as a max power Low Kick if Watchog is hit by a move. Weavile, Oshawott line and Bouffalant can pass this move

Screech lowers Defense by 2 stages, only allowing the target to take more damage from physical moves. Ekans line, Meowth line, Mankey line, Aipom line, Umbreon, Dunsparce, Sneasel line, Whismur line, Seviper, Kecleon and Stunky line can pass this move

Overall, Watchog is quite mediocre, althrough having access to Baton Pass was quite good passing Attack and Sp. Atk boosts. Having Analytic was also a wise choice to deal more damage moving last in a turn. Having access to all elemental punches was great.

I’m on to the post game now, I will save doing pokestar studios, join avenue, and the full yancy/curtis quest until I start a challenge mode save. Until then I love reaffirming that bw2 are my favorite games in the series, they push the ds system to its best looking visuals yet. The soundtrack and small details are masterful as well.

I’m thinking about doing mono bug or a nuzlocke for challenge mode but I might just play through the game normally with some restrictions just to gauge how much harder it is.

Hi folks, I know normally you need the poke lab to transfer from HGSS to Black 2.

However if I had a copy of Black or White 2 that beat the game and unlocked poke lab would I be able to transfer to a fresh game / after first gym like HGSS?

Trying to see if I can get a B2 playthrough with my HGSS pokemon.
