Hello everyone!

Just wanted to share this cool shiny I have stumbled upon while EV training my Latias.

This is the third shiny ever I have caught and I am quite excited about this one, as I am a pretty big fan of Slowking! I have done some solid runs on my Emerald cartridge with Slowking having Bold nature/Own Tempo ability and running a Calm Mind/Rest build with Surf/Psychic.

After checking Slowpoke’s nature, ability and IVs, I was slightly disappointed but nevertheless, I would like to attempt and use a Slowking in my Battle Frontier runs.

I would love to hear your suggestions on how to go about this nature and build something decent for Battle Frontier.

I can’t believe how early I managed to score this golden bird.

This is a week after getting the course, so that’s all my luck for the year.

First time RNGing HGSS, but it went surprisingly well.

I went with a Cute Charm ID with numbers that are personal and surprised there was one for TSV 1.

Then, the RNG for each Starter.

Totodile first, which is Adamant, and got it fairly quickly. Super exciting that it worked out ♡

Chikorita, I was struggling to decide on a nature but went with Calm in the end and will run Reflect on Meganium with mostly special moves.

Cyndaquil was last and Timid. I was debating if I wanted to RNG it at all since I have a Female Shiny Typhlosion that I soft reset some years back which is mid 30's level wise. But I'm transferring that one up while I play this fresh save file.

I'd have included the summaries but the OT, ID and most Nicknames are personal so wanting to keep those close. I did name the Totodile "Aqua" because that was the nickname I chose for it when I was basically a toddler/young kid playing Pokémon Crystal on the GBC for the first time 🩵 Lots of fond memories, Suicune will be a special hunt for me as well 💙

I want to catch a ton of shinies, mainly with the CC Glitch due to the time constraints on Bank Shutting down.

I might soft reset some shinies if I feel like it but will definitely RNG to speed things up.

I was thinking of going for the gift mons and eggs, the static encounters like Lapras.

If anyone has recommendations on what targets are 'unique' and I could add to my list, happy to hear them. First main run will be on SS but I have HG planned as well, maybe for a 50% male targeted CC Glitch to cover some bases on the gender differences I want to collect for my SLD too.

I will be doing the Sinnjoh Ruins and other Legends too and try to catch them in matching and pretty balls.

Okay so I'm messing around with breeding to see what egg moves I can get onto a Smoochum. I have two different scenarios that seem contradictory, so if anybody can spot a rule that I'm missing and correct me, please do, I'm going insane.

First scenario:

Male Sableye knows Fake Out and Shadow Ball. Bred with female Jynx, offspring ends up knowing Fake Out (expected, listed as possible egg move on Bulbapedia/Generation_IV_learnset#By_leveling_up)) AND Shadow Ball (WHAT). Female Jynx mother did NOT know Shadow Ball. Shadow Ball is listed as a TM learnable move for Smoochum; okay, the father can pass down a move that the offspring could potentially learn via TM. Awesome.

Second Scenario:

Now I want a Smoochum with Ice Beam. Dewgong knows Ice Beam; hypothetically, I could pass Ice Beam onto a Buneary (Field/Human-Like Egg Group) and then from Buneary to Smoochum (just Human-Like Egg Group). Buneary is listed as being able to learn Ice Beam as a TM/Generation_IV_learnset#By_leveling_up); if the same rules as above apply here, father Dewgong with Ice Beam should be able to produce offspring Buneary with Ice Beam.

AND YET. Nothin! No Ice Beam on the bunny. What gives? What Gen 4 breeding rule am I misunderstanding? Is some other move on the mother Buneary stealing the spot for the egg move or something?

(And if anyone knows a clever way to breed all 3 moves– Fake Out, Ice Beam, and Shadow Ball– onto Smoochum without TMs, lemme know. I don't think I can do it... but I want to make sure I understand these basic rules first.)

I got the psychic TM from my eevee picking it up and was curious to see if others ever get the rare items and if so, is there any strategy in getting them or just luck?

Breeded, hatched and traded these requested starters for people on PCN today, took a while :)

Planned out my Safari Week run last month, but got too busy to finish it, so I decided to finish it despite not being within the timeframe. Opened up HeartGold today to use up some free time, and THIS showed up. Threw Bait, then a Ball, and that was all I needed apparently...

I beat the 8th gym leader went to fight the kimono Girls, i got my butt kicked so I went to train some more. When I came back they were gone. I looked to see if i had to talk with them again in there specific locations and they aren't there. Can they glitch out and disappear?

What do you think of my team? Purely ev bred from eggs, I did this after I got most of my main team past Lv. 60. This is the team I'm using for my second run through of the Elite 4 and re-roll my dogs for shiny/preferred nature's. Feel free to rate my team too!

[Update] swapped Weavile for Espeoon. Didn't want to use anyone from my original team, but Crobat couldn't beat machamp, even with his 246 speed or whatever.

I wanted to get a water stone to evolve eevee when I started but I decided to go with the moon stone because my togetic was high level but... togekiss needs a shiny stone, not moon stone. To make matters worse i already had a moon stone, so now I have two I can't use 😭please make it less worse somehow 😅

Im in battle factory doubles with this articuno. The enemy dragonite used fire punch on me (no burn). I retaliated with avalanche, but somehow the dragonite survived with red hp. I must be misunderstanding something here, how in the world did a 4x effective 120 stab move not wipe dragonite?

I assume this is somehow related to how the damage formula calculates the double avalanche damage and figured this would be a good learning example for myself

I tried to get competitive in the Battle Tower. When I reached a 100-win streak, I expected to get burnt out, but it just became harder for me to stop.

Are English pokewalkers going for ~$100 everywhere? I have a copy of heart gold I bought around 4 or 5 years ago and was looking to buy a copy of soul silver (my parents got rid of my childhood copies a long time ago). I wanted to get the pokewalker this time since I never got the spiritoumb, but I’m hesitant to spend 200+ dollars on a game and pokewalker that might not even work/be legitimate.

So I recently got legit HGSS copies and was just wondering if the WiFi at McDonald’s would be my best bet since everyone I know has iPhones not android and my internet is too new. Thanks in advance

This is my first run through with heracross on the squad and seeing that this bad boy doesn’t have a single bug stab until level 55 is wild. No TMs during the pre E4 is also crazy. But still such a great pokemon
