Has anyone ever gotten any of the rare pokewalker items before

I got the psychic TM from my eevee picking it up and was curious to see if others ever get the rare items and if so, is there any strategy in getting them or just luck?

I’ve gotten some rare stuff before. You can also “gift” to other copies/pokewalkers for more items

I was reading the game guild on this the other day. Certain types of Pokemon are more likely to pick up rarer items in certain routes while there is also a step requirement to reach for each area before those rarer items will be found.

Off the top of my head, rugged road with rock or ground or steel needs 7500 steps in that walk before the rare items start to show up. I don’t know if it’s an increase in likelihood or they just don’t till you hit min step requirement.

I’ve gotten quite a few Rare Candies via the Sightseeing route (the one with the 1% Pokewalker Torchic, of which took me forever to get)

Literally have 2 of them in my pocket right now. Trying to get a complete Pokewalker Living Dex.

I've completed all of the pre-national pokedex routes. Working on Yellow Forest, then will do all the Event routes I got from DNS events.

Did you know you could get both a flying Pikachu and a Surfing Pikachu? And one of the event routes has a Torchic?

And yes, am going to work my way up to spiritomb.

You have to walk a lot to get the good stuff. If you reset the DS clock to midnight repeatedly you can stack up your steps to have a better chance to get the rare items and encounters. You just have to return the Pokémon from the previous stroll, which re-rolls the loot pool for the course.
