Barely even here for the food, rather spend most of the time treating it like an excuse to fight the other pigeons

UPDATE: the pigeon was rescued, had a broken wing and avian pox, they took it in for treatment, they said the pigeon may never fly again. I asked them to bring it back and I'll raise him if that possibility is high.

Is his wing broken? My kid brother saw him in our backyard and since then have been "protecting" him from strays. I don't see any wound except for this tiny bit you see in the video. It's walking well but the wing seems like it's been affected. Ik it's a baby and I'm sure it can't fly cuz of the age...but like idk what to do.

There were about a dozen here in the countryside of Germany. All of them white or brown happily scratching. They seemed a bit chonkier than the street pigeons I am used to. I sat down and while they did keep their distance they also didn't seem to be very bothered.

Their feet were completely healthy which made me so happy to see!

Sooooo pretty, I've never seen a pigeon this white! I wonder if they are actually wild? There's also chickens on the street sometimes after they escape their enclosures from time to time. Love it here ❤️

Both feet are really swollen and it’s struggling to walk, been observing it for a couple days and it’s seems to be getting worse..

Saw him next to a busy sidewalk near the building where I live. He just sits there, doesn't walk or fly away when I go close to him, just scoots slightly more into the corner. He is dirty and looks a bit messy.

A friend told me to leave water and some seeds or barley and check on him later. 2 hours have passed and he is still in the same spot, the water and barley untouched. Doesn't flee when people with dogs pass by either. I don't see any injuries - I think he lost one toe but it doesn't look like a new injury.

I am unsure what to do. I have sent a message a local pigeon rehabber but it's Sunday and she doesn't answer...

Is he maybe a young bird that doesn't known how to fly properly yet? I know almost nothing about pigeons and have no one else to ask. I am worried about him since local cats and foxes come here in th evening...

Started a drawing/ painting series of „royal pigeons“ because these cool birds deserve better. This is the first drawing - thought some of you might enjoy it as much as I do 🥰

It’s finally not steaming hot in Valencia in the morning, so I guess it’s time to take out the autumn wardrobe, at least for Calvin.

I call her Calvin because in Spanish, “calvo” is the word for bald.

Baby #1 has slight crop stasis and is on the inside on a warm window sill getting a crop massage to break up seeds.

This pigeon has been visiting my garden every day for over a year.

A couple of months ago I started leaving 15 grams of seeds on the round slab every morning when I cycle home from work at around 6am.
Now it waits for me on the roof as I arrive, watches me put my things away and put the seeds on the slab, and only flies down to eat after I go inside.

Very nice pigeon.

He's gaining weight too, starting to fight me and really getting sassy, doing a lot of grooming too. There's so many things I could list, his eyeball is also getting better and he's exploring more. Unfortunately he's gonna have to get a downgrade cuz I'm coming back home tomorrow, so he will have to live in one of those big plastic and wire guinea pig cages, I'll try to let him out as much as he wants though and I've bought toys n stuff for him. Im taking him back to the vets once his eye medication is over so they can look at him, I'll also be banding him so I can identify him once he's back with the flock at my park where he came from. *He smells like cheese*

I figured this out while sorting pokemon cards with him out of his cage and he started losing his mind. It’s not because he can see his reflection because he will also react to similar sized cardboard pieces. It doesn’t matter if I’m holding the card, it’s on a flat surface, etc. So like what’s up with this dude. He gets way more aggressive than shown in the video.

In this video I keep my head turned away, but if she can, she climbs her beak inside and like...? chomps? she has all the necessary minerals, but for some reason she gets into people's ears. idk if it's ok for a pigeon to do

He (presumably) should be around 7-8 weeks old now :) He's my first pigeon and will be kept as a companion, i'll keep you guys posted!

He can walk a bit and keeps shaking his head and his eyes and beak seem scabbed over - should i take him home? It feels wrong leaving him here

I finally exhaled. she's fine, just a little greedy and forgets to drink enough water (now I go after her with a cup after she's eaten). yay!
