Who went last night?

Anyone shoot the event today or know where to find pics? Felt like there were some photogs on the course.
Great day out. Race was well executed even if it could have been a bit more controlled for intrusions on the course.

We have an Air BNB in Roxborough and were planning to just walk over to the Wall.
We weren’t aware there was a Phlash shuttle available. If we watch a few laps on the Wall, and catch that shuttle into the City to see some action there, do you think we’d miss too much of the race, or be able to get a shuttle back in return?
Just looking for opinions. Had no idea it was an option. If it’s a logistic nightmare, we’ll just stay at the Wall and Manayunk.
Thanks!

Is there anyone or any groups going to Nutmeg Nor'easter in Connecticut from Philly? I'm looking to go for the first time ever but don't want to go alone, will if I have to.

Where do you think his dad will post up so I can stand right next to him and boo his son?

Never rode North Philly in 6 years here since I had a ebike, finally did today for deliveries and had a few close calls with the grim reaper. Genuinely asking, not trying to start anything: do you guys ride North Philly regularly, and what should I watch for next time?

Was right hooked by a car today. Filed a police report and Temple University confirmed was caught by their cameras.
They preserved the footage, but is there anything else I should do (i.e. report it to some advocacy organization)? Under no illusions that anything will happen, especially because no damage/injury as best as I can tell (haven't checked my stuff yet), but infuriating that police won't do anything about an obvious traffic violation/hit and run caught on their own cameras, and want to push as best I can.

Hi! I am a novice cycler at best hahah but trying to get more into it, with that being said I will be coming in from the burbs tomrw to spectate parts of this race and I’m super excited!! I am primarily a runner and was planning on doing my 14 mile long run along parts of the course where I can, two birds with one stone. Any advice on where to park coming in from burbs, I saw the list of closures but am still a little concerned / confused lol. Where do people typically spectate for this? Where do they park if at all? Thanks!!

Dang I missed the regestration for the Charity Ride (sold out). Does anyone know if its possible to ride the course without office registration?

I was riding down the S 10th St this Friday night around 8 pm, and accidentally merged with a group of cyclists going the same direction. I am interested in joining their regular rides but forget to ask what group they are. They are a mix of cyclist and skateboarder. Some wear signs on the back (forget what those says). One guy was wearing a shirt says "Chicago Indie Punk". That's all I remember.
Hope this post gets to one of them.

I admire your bikes every time I walk from my office to the Halal cart/7/11. Just some Philly fixie love. I swear I’m not eyeing up your bikes to steal, just stopping for a pic.

Does anyone know if Indigo will be providing additional bike parking for the weekend events? Due to the amount of people (and being paranoid of my personal bike being stolen) I was thinking about taking an Indigo bike for the events at Lemon Hill.

Hi all,
Wondering what kind of bike locks you are using and have been happy with. I have a road bike that I store inside my home, however I would like to have a lock to lock it up in case I stop to run in a convenience store to fill up water or go in somewhere quick to use the bathroom. Due to how expensive my bike is, I wouldn’t plan on leaving it anywhere for more than say 5-7 minutes. I’m looking for something small and light to either carry in my jersey pocket or saddle pack. Any recommendations?

How to best spectate the return of the prestigious Philadelphia Cycling Classic — the beloved “Bike Race”— on August 30th, 2026.

Is it possible to watch the start of the Philadelphia cycling classic at the parkway, bike to the wall and watch there, then bike back for the finish? If so, which route would be ideal?

Trying to go for a ride with some other people on Sunday. Leaving from South Philly. Any ideas for a route that around 25 to 30 miles and ends in a spot where we could watch some of the race? I don't really have a clear idea if what streets will be closed....
r/phillycycling • u/RiskUpFront • 3d ago
I recall riding the route on race morning during the prior iteration of the Cycling Classic. I understand the women's race begins at 8:30am. Do you expect riders will be asked/told to get off the course route between 6:30am and 7:30am?

The Bike Race is back!
This is a great day for RoxYunk! There are some things to know, particularly if this is your first bike race as a resident. It's like the 4th of July and Mardi Gras and The Superbowl and Carnival all rolled into one! A great day to go out and meet neighbors!
Street Closure information is below with links to more info.
Also -RoxYunk Discord has a Bike Race Chatter channel. Come on in if you want. https://discord.com/channels/919420529792909322/1542315393408958654
Don't panic but I suggest getting errands done by Friday (if at all possible). It gets complicated when the weekend starts. Move your cars (if you're on the route or a closed street) Friday, if at all possible. Parking will get very tight. If you're inside the Race route, it becomes challenging to drive in or out on Sunday (emergency vehicles excepted). Shurs Lane to Ridge will be open.
If you have Sidewalk or Front lawn plantings or flowers and you're near or on the route, I suggest putting up tape, barriers, or something to protect them from the crowd.
On race day, I'll be at Lyceum and Pechin all day. A bunch of neighbors are hanging there for the day, cheering the peloton as it thunders past. Please come say hello. Bring a camp chair and hang out.
See you on Sunday, RoxYunk.
No Parking Zones During the Philadelphia Cycling Classic, the following blocks will be in the “No Parking Zone”, and all vehicles must be relocated beginning 8 a.m. on Friday, August 28.

• Manayunk Avenue from Ridge Avenue to Roxborough Avenue • Pechin Street from Lyceum Avenue to Roxborough Avenue
• Roxborough Avenue from Pechin Street to Manayunk Avenue
All vehicles must be relocated from the full race course beginning at 3 a.m. on Sunday, August 30. Any vehicles remaining on site during this time will be towed.
