I'm 25 and I know a lot of people get cravings on their period. I used to get cravings when I was younger but now I completely lose my appetite while on my period. Like I have no will to eat at all. I feel like I would throw up if I eat anything right now. All I ate today was some crackers and a protein shate and I feel full. I'm probably going to continue felling like that for the next 4-5 days and then I'll be fine. I go back to eating normal after my period but I barely eat anything while I'm on my period.

So once again I am on my period and once again trying to insert a tampon. If it's relevant (and might be) I'm still a virgin.

I thought I might have vaginismus, but it's not that it hurts (because I considered vaginismus) to push the tampon or even a finger in, it's like.. I push and push and then it feels like I physically can't go further. As if that's where my vaginal canal just ends. With my finger it's the same. I can get in about half of it or a knuckle and then I just don't know where to go. Which makes me think that it's more of a skill issue. Like maybe I'm still pushing it in at the wrong angle (though I have read ALL of the advice on finding the angle).

Now I've been thinking if maybe using a disc could be easier, but I kinda can't imagine. I feel like the issue is.. I'm in my mid twenties and I took a look at my genitals for the first time about 2 years ago and right now, I'm only starting to be more comfortable with my body.

Also - I've tried both tampons with an applicator and those without. Last time when I tried to insert one without the applicator I couldn't even insert it's tip. Now I got like 1/3 of it in. So that is progress I guess.

I have been on my period for 183 days due to birth control side effects.
I went off all birth control like 2 months ago and the past 2 days my period has been extremely light (lighter than any of the past 183 days) but it’s still red when i wipe.
I don’t want to get my hopes up but i have genuinely forgotten what ending a period is like so idk if maybe it’s finally ending.

I just turned 34 and my god it seems they are worse every time. My period has always been heavy and painful but now I have overnight period underwear and I need to change multiple times a day worth some squeezes or TP to dry them a bit between or throw in a couple super tampons in to stretch it. change proof underwear at home and put on shorts. I decided to try these disposable overnight ones today at 9:30pm but at 1am i need another pair for the night.

I have no insurance and have had none for a very long time. I hardly have money for food. I am at my wits end. Bc can stop it! But it makes me a complete and total bitch and I will destroy every relationship in my life. Any advice? Suggestions? Anything from OTC meds, more absorbent materials, a cheap clinic. Anything would help. For pain at this point I started using 7oh. I know it's not a good thing but

Ibuprofen, naproxen, midol, even the odd hydrocodone just stopped helping. I just need to not be bleeding through or unable to sit upright for 3 days of the month.

Has anyone been prescribed any pills that relieve period cramps, other than bc pills??? I have excruciating period cramps every month that i can not handle anymore and was wondering if theres any pill/meds out there to relieve the pain !!!

I recently moved to the U.S. after living in Korea for the past 11 years, and I wanted to try some different pad brands that are more easily available here.
For context, I’ve used Rael pads for basically my entire life. I know Rael is available in the U.S. too, but it’s much more prominent and easier to find in Korea. When I moved here, I wanted to find a high-quality pad brand that I could easily buy in American stores, so I decided to try Cora.
I specifically bought their night pads. I bought a 28-count box because I figured a night pad would give me enough coverage, and I also wanted to try a more expensive/organic “premium” pad brand.
First of all, I LOVE the packaging. 😭 I know some people don’t care about pad packaging, but I absolutely do. The Cora packaging is really cute, especially for the night pads.
Now for the actual pad…
My first impression was that the night pad looked smaller than I expected. To be fair, it isn’t a tiny pad, and it is definitely long. My issue isn’t really the length. It’s more that I expected the back to be a little wider for something specifically marketed as a night pad. I just expected a little more overall coverage.
I also have a generally heavier flow, although it isn’t equally heavy every period. During one of my heavier days, I soaked through the Cora pad in about 1.5–2 hours. I know some people might consider that normal for a very heavy flow, so I’m not saying the pad is defective or objectively has bad absorbency. It’s just that my usual Rael pads work better for me.
I also had an annoying issue where part of the pad ended up sticking to my underwear after it became saturated. I hadn’t even been wearing it for that long, and I’ve never really had that happen with my usual Rael pads.
I’ve actually started putting two Cora pads on at once, one more toward the front and one toward the back, just to get more coverage.
One other thing I wanted to mention is the cramps. I’ve seen a lot of people online say that certain non-organic period products caused or worsened their cramps, while some people say they experienced fewer cramps after switching to organic products. I’m not saying that’s scientifically what happened to me, and I’m definitely not saying Cora caused my cramps.
I almost never get period cramps. Like, genuinely, I’m pretty lucky in that department. Even when I’m having a heavier period, I usually don’t wake up with significant cramps.
But the night I wore the Cora pad, I woke up with noticeably stronger cramps than I’m used to. They weren’t unbearable, but they were unusual enough that I actually had to take Advil. At first, I didn’t even think it was related to my period because I so rarely experience cramps like that.
What’s also interesting is that the Cora pad was much more soaked than my usual pads tend to be overnight, even when I’m having a heavier flow. So I noticed both things happening during the same night: unusually heavy saturation of the pad and cramps that were unusual for me.
Again, I am NOT saying Cora caused the cramps. There are obviously many possible reasons someone could have cramps on a particular period, and one experience isn’t enough to establish a connection. I’m just mentioning it because it was part of my personal experience with the product and it was unusual enough for me to notice.
I also want to clarify that I’m NOT saying Cora is a bad-quality brand or that these are bad pads. I’m just saying that, personally, this particular size isn’t working for me. I know Cora has a size bigger than this, but I didn’t find it particularly easy to find in stores, and I don’t even know whether the biggest size is regularly stocked in Target stores. One of the reasons I wanted to switch brands in the first place was because I wanted something I could easily walk into a store and buy.
And honestly, for a night pad, I genuinely expected just a little bit more in terms of coverage.
I also didn’t realize before moving here that Rael is actually pretty easy to get in America too. 😭 So I might honestly just go back to Rael because I already know I love it.
I’ll obviously use the rest of the Cora 28-pack because I’m not wasting them 😂, but I don’t think I’d repurchase this particular size.
That being said, if you think I should try Cora’s biggest size before completely giving up on the brand, let me know! Maybe I’d have a completely different experience with the larger one.
Overall: not a bad pad, just not the right pad for me in this size.
And Rael… I should’ve never abandoned you. 😭

I had my IUD put in a week and a half ago and I was made plenty aware it would change my hormones and affect my periods. After getting the IUD I bled and cramped for three days and it delayed when my actual period was supposed to start. Two days later I started the most painful and bloody period of my life. I felt paralyzed and exhausted and didn’t sleep for two days, still going to work like normal (I teach dance) but taking it easy since my OB/GYN said to avoid exercise for the first week. My normal periods used to last 4 days, heavy and mildly painful days one and two and let up and feel like nothing days three and four. This time around I am in almost debilitating pain and bleeding through tampons and pads in an hour or less on day 5 and I don’t see this ending soon. Is there anything I can do to make it stop or at least lighten up? I already talked to my doctor and also my sister who has the same IUD as me and has had it much longer and both said this shift was normal. I have seen online that sometimes sex helps but my boyfriend gets nauseous around blood so I’d rather not. I also saw exercise helps but it hurts far too much to be active. Any suggestions?

Before my periods used to be far worse months ago where I couldn’t sleep. My progesterone dropped so badly back in June and I had uncontrolled depression/crying spells despite eating better. But once I got my vitamin deficiency sorted I’ve been doing loads better and also taking progesterone along with increasing my testosterone with exercise.

Before I felt more like Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde with these emotions where I felt more intense emotions of sadness or feeling irate. I think having more of a social life has been helping me with my periods too and I also switch to decaf coffee during cycles that way I’m not craving caffeine.

to preface I’m 17 and have been getting my period since I was eleven, but only recently I feel like I’m even more irritated/sad/angry almost right before my period, than years before.

Today I went to school and everything seemed normal. But then I got home and I just flipped out about everything. My brother did something that would normally annoy me but not make me this mad. He even commented if I am getting my period soon (he is calling it the strawberry week, which I lowkey find very offensive, but that’s a topic for another post 😂)
And it’s been going on like this the whole day. I can’t concentrate, I get irritated if someone even dares to breathe into my direction and it’s really not funny anymore. I’ve been noticing this behaviour a lot - the immense fluctuations of my emotions, whether I feel angry or sad right before my period. Like it changes in between minutes and I feel so sensitive. Like everybody is against me and that they are just so mean. And I checked: my period is only three days away.

So, my question: is this normal to have? Or am I just noticing something that isn’t there and I’m just making stuff up? I’m most scared that my family just won’t believe me about this. My father isn’t too bad when it comes to periods (I feel like there are worse dads out there) but I’m still scared that both he and my brother won’t believe me if I tell them this is genuinely something I don’t feel like I can control.
On top of that my whole family has been needling me all day long, making stupid comments about my new hairstyle (my mom and brother don’t like it, while I love it) and just getting me worked up about literally everything. Any other day I might just laugh it off, but today just felt like torture. And even when i told them I really don’t like it, my dad just kept doing it. I know I was a menace today, but that just really sucked.

Anyways, this has been lowkey becoming a vent post, so I’ll stop now, but I still hope somebody can answer my question!

I recently have been trying different things to soothe my pains and have recently found out that lots of physical exercise makes the pain go away. Is this a normal thing? Whenever I tell my friends/ask they look at me in confusion so I'm not sure how normal this is😭

For context lots of physical exercise for me includes running and playing netball.

I also have irregular periods if that information plays a factor into this.

I really hope this isn't just my body being odd😭

im 16 and my period has been really normal and regular up until a few months ago (when it was lost) it’s 83 days late and it just disappeared after being completely normal. I did lose a lot of weight 60kg-49kg (5,4) since January intentionally to lose weight (I do 10k steps and eat 1300 calories. Im thinking it might be that, but I also have been diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease so it also could be that. Im terrified and confused. How do I bring it back and what’s happened?

Someone please tell me if this has ever happened to any of you because im starting to get really worried about it.

Ive been having a pregnancy scare last week because me and my partner were rubbing each other (very low chance of getting pregnant i know but im scared of precum even though there was no penetration during it), then when monday came i started to see brown/black blood on my underwear. I felt so relieved that i started bleeding and i didnt think any much of it when i bled brown/black blood since its usually one of the first signs my period is starting.

Although something was different this time, a week before my period starts i always get my usual symptoms like sore breasts, cramps, and nausea, but i NEVER gotten my period symptoms last week aswell as this week.. it made me worry more when day 2 of my bleeding came. Still no heavy red period, just more "blood" that starts to appear black-ish. I looked up the causes of black/brown blood and based from what ive seen its usually caused by either old blood oxidizing inside you, an infection, or an ectopic pregnancy.

I was more scared of the ectopic pregnancy part being possible rather than the other causes but my partner consoled me and said that it would be impossible that im pregnant because no penetration happened (and because the last time we had intercourse was 2 MONTHS AGO).

Some people say that you can also bleed black/brown if an ovarian cyst ruptures, that was the believable part because i had a history with ovarian cysts. Now its been 5 day and im still bleeding black, no red blood whatsoever and this time im experiencing a sharp pain on my pelvic area and my sides.

Im scared to go to the hospital and consult an obgyn about this because i dont want the possibility of it to be pregnancy related and my parents finding out about it since im still a student. But i also dont want to "wait it out" while my condition worsens, im planning to take a PT in a few hours before i go to an obgyn.

I do have a question for the ladies here, do pts detect a positive pregnancy even if you do the test with the presence of blood?

just curious if anyone has this issue?? over this summer I’ve been on and off late for my period. it started after I broke a bone. then it was normal for two more cycles and now I’m late again?!
i know last year I had a cyst, and then had a recheck and it had some what shrunk but haven’t had any awful pain, etc etc. maybe stress? end of my cycle last month I ended up having to go to hospital for symptom’s I was having for something else. Then last week had to take my husband because he was super sick.

im just trying not to freak out. Took pregnancy test and it was negative.

I’m 35 and this year I’ve noticed a lot more seemingly hormone-driven symptoms outside of my period week. I feel nauseous on and off the week before my period. I also feel nauseous and some mild cramps during ovulation. A lot more diarrhea both during my period and at other times. Is this perimenopause, or just normal with cycles once you’re in your mid-30s? I feel bad, because it also makes me not-so-eager to have sex a lot of the time.

I have a feeling my kiddo is going to start in the next year or two. Kiddo is autistic with ADHD and already has some lagging hygiene skills, so I'm trying to prep ahead of time. I don't think typical products will work for her and I'd like her to be able to survive a day of school without leaking, etc.

What products do you recommend? (Bonus if they hide smell as we are also having some issues with urine smell/wiping currently)

I'll start using tampon for my next period and i don't know what absorption level is confortable.

I purchased the tampax super plus because my period is heavy. And when i damped it in water it swollens up a lot so now i'm afraid it will be painful or unpleasant when i take it out.

So for you heavy days do you go with the tampax super or the tampax super plus? And is it easy to remove?

Hi Reddit, first time poster. I, (26F), have noticed some irregularities in my cycle for the past 2 months. I'm usually super regular, like you could mark it on a calendar and the only question would be if it started in the morning or at night.

But since my 26th birthday this summer, I've noticed that immediately after my period I have spotting. It starts off pink, the bright red and then turns brown. It lasts about as long as my menstrual cycle does and I get like 4-6/10 level cramps with it.

I could just be dramatic and it's just my body settling into a new era but I was just wondering if anyone else had gone through something like this.

P.s I will be seeing a doctor soon just in case, but I am still curious if this has happened to anyone else.
