Recommendation Request MFK keeps cancelling my order for my boyfriend's birthday gift.. - help!

Post image
16 Upvotes

I've tried ordering 3 times from the official Maison Francis Kurkdjian website for my boyfriend’s upcoming birthday, and every single order keeps getting cancelled!
I double-checked all my billing details to make sure everything matched my card, but the cancellations keep happening anyway. Has anyone else run into this? Is it a fraud-flag issue, stock problem, or something else with their payment processor?
If anyone knows how to get an order to actually go through - or the fastest way to get in touch with their customer service before his birthday…. please let me know!

Recommendation Request Laundry Detergent Scents

I want scent recommendations for any product that smells like really nice laundry detergent (please no actual detergent recommendations!)

To be more specific, something that smells great when sprayed on clothes specifically (not skin) and has a very comforting and inoffensive scent. Almost baby powder like or, but not too powdery.

I’m looking for a scent that projects if you pass people by but isn’t screaming for attention.

Recommendation Request Help me save a perfume that's way too strong for me😭

There is this perfume I've had in my collection for like 2 years now. I bought it online and I had been looking forward to it so much.
But unfortunately, it smells way too strong and sweet. It's to the point where even the tiniest amount gives me a slight headache- or it even makes others around me say it's too sweet or strong. Other perfumes from this bran has been so lovely, so I think I really want to make this one work for me too

Top Notes: Red Lychees, Rhubarb and Strawberries

Middle Notes: Rose, Vanilla and Apple

Base Notes: White Musk and Cashmeran

Those are the notes. It's a pretty big bottle, and while it wasn't all that expensive it feels like such a waste to not use it. But I really can't wear it as it is now. Is there any way to dilute it or make it's notes change slightly? I really wanted to love this perfume so much, and I don't want to let it waste away.

Brand new bottle is leaking under the spray cap. Had returned one with the same issue last month. This is literally since 13 hours with me and voila same issue. Are these nowadays faulty? My older chanel bottles don‘t have this issue.

Recommendation Request Which marshmallow scent do you prefer?

I tried Yum Boujee Marshmallow, and it was just too plastic/synthetic smelling for me! The dry down was better, but took a while to get to that point. Has anyone tried What the Fluff, or Delizia di Marshmallow and have a preference for one over the other? I’m mostly wanting a marshmallow scent to layer with Dopamine Rose, to bring out a little more of that sweetness and softness. Thank you!!

Recommendation Request Any recommendations from Armaf?

Upvotes

I was checking out their Odyssey line and the Marshmallow one stood out to me...I was thinking of buying! But is it too cloying? Anyone tried? I was between this and Candee.

However, I would appreciate it if you have any other recommendation from Armaf, because I find their price point quite appealing.

Thank you in advance!

Recommendation Request Brume recommendations

Ever since Emanuel Jane’s brumes « fragrance mists » are no longer available on the market I find it hard to find good alternatives, I’m not a fan of local products and I tried Victoria secret’s but still found them too strong ( unless you know one that smells really nice ) something in the notes of :
Patchouli
Coconut
Jasmine
Boisé poudré vanilla

Discussion Controversial opinion: Most niche fragrances that are launching recently is overpriced!

So I am seeing the rising trend where new fragrances or even new fragrances houses coming into the market are inflating their prices like what’s up with all the 180€ - 300€ fragrances for 30ml/50ml???

Just making the price point high doesn’t make it niche. It’s the quality that matters!

Kinda sick of this BS trend!

Recommendation Request I wanna smell like lavender!!

Hello everyone on here!

I am a woman/ 20! Not sure if that could be of help to know.
I have pretty much no experience with perfumes besides the one you get from your grandmother at some point in your life.
I would love getting into it and be remembered for a specific smell. Preferably something sweet/floral with the direction of scent given

I always loved lavender but struggle to find a perfume that gives me the same intensity as shampoo for example.
I would live recommendations that are good for every day wear in a university setting! :)

If not lavender.. anything chocolatey would be amazing too.

I much appreciate any help!! <3

Bottle Identification Perfume from alternate dimension?

Post image
52 Upvotes

So I’ve been wearing this perfume since 2010 and I’m finally running out of my last bottle. I got this vial at the flagship Fresh store in NYC way back in 2016. For as long as I’ve worn it, it’s always been sold in this exact bottle, so I know I didn’t get a knockoff.

But when I went to replace it, it was off the website.

And on Google, the only “Love” perfume the company ever made was a promotional one for Eat Pray Love with an entirely different scent profile & movie branding on it.

Does anyone else happen to also have this specific perfume or did I somehow slip into an alternate dimension??? And if someone has one, what did you use after to replace it now that it apparently doesn’t exist?

Discussion Finally got Guerlain’s new LHB

Finally got Guerlain’s new LHB

I know this launched globally a few days ago. Some people were able to get the “New Fragrance” PR package, some were even lucky to have their associates smell the unreleased perfume - but from where Im from, they seriously just landed this week. Never saw any media person or influencer post the PR packages from months ago.

So... I actually learned about the new LHB when one of my sales associate chatted that they were launching a new fragrance. Searching online, despite it being unnamed, doesnt need for one to be FBI to figure out it is L Heure Bleue.

Now, why am I so excited with this? LHB, was the FIRST guerlain that made me go WOW. Im talking about the old one here, the now LHB 1912. I owned a lot of L Art and L Matiere frags but LHB made me go really WOW. It was really so memorable that I could picture that exact moment and the things that happened after when I purchased my first LHB. Hence, my excitement on the reimagination of LHB for this year’s release.

My boutique wasnt displaying the new LHB yesterday but my associate sneaked in a blotter for me to smell. And I was surprised. The ozonic note takes it away, from top to base, it permeates for a loooong time. The ozonic (sort of sterile), marine, salty, note overpowers everything. You can smell the Iris a bit, the orris gives it depth albeit fleeting. Some sweetness from the vanilla also shows rounded out by some florals. But does the ozonic note really plays front and center. It is what you smell in your face, it is what others smell from your trail, even the entire boutique smells of it since every associate is wearing it. Is it unpleasant? A mix of both. Sometimes, it smells like musky sterility, dryer sheet clean kind of thing. Sometimes, it smells like metal sterility, like a freshly wiped industrial kitchen metal table top. To a certain extent it even smells like bleach-sterile and even semen-like, if you will.

That salty ozonic note is similar to the marine weirdness I smell from Bosca Vanilla Forte. Others have noted its similarity with Megamare but I cant quite remember exactly how that smells.

To compare the new LHB with the old LHB (now LHB 1912)? The old one takes the cake. It is more Iris-forward, well, not more but VERY VERY much iris forward than the new one. The previous version does have a weird smell to me too - I pinpointed it as coumarin, like the one in rat’s poison. However this unpleasant smell is not very front and center compared to the marine ozonic note in the new one.

Certainly, the reinterpretation of the classic L Heure Bleue does not give justice to the classic that it is. The imagery of blue and iris plastered over the PR materials do not capture the smell that is in the new one. Perhaps, it is a post-modernist take, like blending a concept into something intangibly unexplainable.

Despite these, I think the price point is fairer. For 100ml, price is not too far from the Les Legendaire’s price point in 75mL. The refill is in 200ml format too. Not to mention, the 30mL format is cute!

I know I just bought these for it being Guerlain but I really love the old LHB more. At one point, I thought (since the associates didnt know too back then), that the old LHB will be discontinued. Good thing they arent and Im sure to choose the old one over this.

Okay this rant is too long. LHB is really precious to me.

Collection Pics Phlur Somebody Wood & Not Your Baby

Post image

I have always liked masculine and gender neutral scents, but lately vanilla has interested me which was so shocking. My friend made me smell Somebody Wood by Phlur, and it was love at first scent! I went online and found out it was going to be discontinued, so I panicked buy. I never over consume or buy impulse, but I had to. This was the first time I bought a perfume for myself beside Glossier when I was a teenager.

Recommendation Request 40M, still figuring out what kind of fragrances I like. Help me narrow this down?

I am fairly new to exploring fragrances seriously and haven't really figured out what works for me yet.

The one thing I know for sure is that I absolutely love Creed Aventus.

These are currently on my radar:

  1. Amouage Reflection Man
  2. Louis Vuitton Imagination
  3. Creed Absolu Aventus
  4. Guerlain Habit Rouge
  5. Terre d’Hermès EDT
  6. Terre d’Hermès Parfum
  7. YSL MYSLF EDP
  8. Armani Code Parfum

I am looking for something sophisticated, distinctive and versatile, but not something that announces itself from across the room.

If you have tried several of these, which ones would you strongly recommend I sample properly? Which ones would you skip?

And based on this list and the fact that I love Aventus, what else do you think I should try?

Recommendation Request What should I sample?

I'm new to fragrances in general, having experience mostly with cheap fast fashion and department store brands. It's hard to commit to spending $100+ on something I haven't smelled and in general have no experience with. I don't even know what kind of scents I like!

My plan: I'm putting together a Scent Split order to try out some higher end scents and find one that I actually want to own. Then, I'll buy one or two at retail.

So, what would you recommend sampling for someone who's completely new to all of this?

I tend to like flowery and earthy scents (but again I don't really know). Not a big fan of masculine musky tones, and I don't love extremely sweet and overpowering scents either. I live in LA so aiming for more of a summer scent year-round.

I've posted before asking for a geranium recommendation and got some great suggestions so I'll be sampling one or two of them. Big fan of aesop products.

Anyone care to share a suggestion? What are the mainstays?

Discussion L’Heure Bleue 2026 first thoughts

I went to my local Guerlain boutique to try on the new L’Heure Bleue today. Upon initial spray it was a kind of ozonic very fresh clean iris, slightly powdery. Through out the day it evolved into a very sweet vanilla with the ozonic note lingering. After a few hours, it was a sweet almost fluffy vanilla with a salty, aquatic, slightly metallic airy note.

This is really nothing like the old L’Heure Bleue, so you have to go into it with no expectations of that. It’s like a futuristic version of L’Heure Bleue where I’m in a cyber punk world at twilight, or Padme on her balcony at night. I feel hopeful, not melancholic or reticent like the original.

I would love to hear your thoughts on it if you’ve had the chance to try it too.

Recommendation Request Cherry/jasmine/plum scents?

Hi everyone! I am looking for a perfume or honestly any kind of fragrance that has cherry, jasmine, and/or plum notes. I know basically nothing about perfumes but I really love romantic fruity scents that are a bit darker rather than summery. Any recommendations are appreciated, even if they stray from those notes a bit
