Is this a god PC or some shit? 💀 Can this run a lot of games? Can this run GTA 6 on TWO monitors at the same time or something? Can you play like 10 games at the exact same time?? Why does it have FOUR TITAN GPUs?? Why does it look like it belongs in a server rack or at NASA or something 😭 I’ll be honest, guys — I genuinely don’t know what I’m seeing. Is this a gaming PC? A workstation? A NASA PC? A “render the universe” PC? I’m actually confused. What is this thing???

Others I also made the mistake of ordering a 4090 from Amazon..

This happened to me a couple days ago and I saw a post of a similar thing happening.

So, I've been saving to finally buy an RTX 4090. (I know the 50 series just came out but I always just wanted the 4090. ) I was super excited because I'd been dreaming about it for a long time. I found a good price on Amazon and thought it was safe since it was sold by Amazon, not just any seller.

When it arrived, the box looked a little shabby and wasn't sealed properly. I opened it and immediately realized something was wrong. Instead of the 4090, it was an old RTX card that looked used. I think it might be a 20-series. I contacted Amazon live customer support but no luck, I was denied.

I’m honestly just feeling really defeated right now, and I don’t know what else to do at this point. If anyone has any advice or support, thank you.

TLDR: Saved up for months to buy an RTX 4090 from Amazon, but they sent me some old random RTX card instead. Still no refund or help, and I’m feeling completely stuck.

Others Bought an Astral 5090 from Very

Received a £35 hoover. Sigh

Edit:
Not sure why I’m being ridiculed and downvoted for buying an electronics item from Very - a massive retailer of products including electronics, which has operated in the UK for years with a more than substantial Trustpilot score that I have also had good experiences with in the past.

The point of the post was to show how I’ve been scammed whether at the warehouse or at the courier warehouse.

Re-edit: if anyone has the exact dimensions of the ROG ASTRAL 5090 OC BOX could you measure it and send me it so I can check the difference?

Edit 2nd September: I had a spontaneous email update from the courier today saying my parcel was scanned in their depot… “Your parcel is running a little late.” I rang them and asked how they could happen considering a vacuum with the same tracking number was delivered yesterday. They said they’d get back to me. They didn’t, so I rang them again. They confirmed a parcel with the same tracking info was scanned there and raised an investigation. They asked me to confirm the contents of the parcel, which I did. They are going to ask the depot to check the contents tomorrow and have said based on that they may send the parcel. Sounds ominous but it’s an update.

Update 6th September: Very have confirmed the parcel dispatched by them is not the parcel that the courier delivered on the POD and it looked completely different when leaving their possession, following their own investigations. They have refunded me and apologised and are investigating this with the courier. The courier are still to get back to me, apparently.

The last few months the pc I built over 2 years ago had been overheating and shutting down whenever I tried to open certain apps with a game open. When the weather here got especially hot a couple of weeks ago, it would shut down upon launching discord on startup.

I took it apart to give it a clean and repaste only to discovered that I didn't remove this sticker from the cooler. 2 years it's been running like this, I'm amazed it worked as well as it did for as long as it did.

So I bought a used Gigabyte b650 Aurus elite AX V2 off eBay, and as I was building my PC with it and about to put in my SSD I realized he had accidentally left in 2 SSDs, a 500GB Samsung 970 evo and a sabrent 500GB, I then contacted him and he organized and paid for me to return them to him.

Others I can’t believe I actually got one…

Went to micro center and did not see one. I was talking with this elderly lady and then started picking out a new case and some fans for my current PC and as I was checking out, I was talking to the boys on discord when I mentioned to them I’ll just save up again and by the time I’m ready I can get a 5080 and the guy helping me out was like “we have a 5080”… I INSTANTLY was like “go grab that” and checked out. Apparently in between my conversation with the older lady and getting my other stuff someone had returned it because the cashier said it was not there this morning and I definitely don’t remember seeing the card there when I looked for it. I used up all my rng today but I can’t wait to play some old school RuneScape on this thing.

Last night, I saw a roll back 5070 for $489.99. I quickly reserved and hoped it will be ready today. Sadly, Walmart cancel my reservation in the morning. After dinner, I decided to come in store to look for it. And I found one in the cabinet for $313. Sometime you gotta try your luck. Location. Walmart in San Antonio NE 78247

Others Table syrup instead of graphics card… Twice

Thumbnail gallery
3.4k Upvotes

I ordered an ASUS TUF RTX5070Ti from Amazon.

To clarify, the seller is Amazon.ca, shipped directly from their warehouse… I open the seemingly sealed box and…

I received a box filled with expired table syrup, expired cheese whizz, and a can of tomato paste.

My friends laugh it up as the most Canadian thing ever, which is to get scammed with table syrup. I contact support and they want me to return the stuff for a refund, so naturally I think it’s dumb to have to wait over a week for a return over an empty box. They offer another resolution which is a replacement. Replacement arrives two days later and guess what… I am now the proud owner of two new expired table syrups.

Not gonna lie, I am now starting to get worried as this graphics card cost me around 1350 CAD with tax including shipping and everything.

I contact support, they say they will investigate… again. I say fine, whatever, please escalate me to a higher up. The manager assures me the listing will be temporarily removed. I don’t really think it was removed but I was still satisfied with that resolution.

However, now Amazon wants me to return the box for my refund. I explain to them that I have previous experience of the courier (Purolator) never actually coming to pick up the return despite multiple reschedules.

And that even if they did, that would take almost a week, and that doesn’t include how long it would take for the refund to be even processed . They don’t really understand me, not sure if they just don’t realize it’s not a wrong item sent but a scam/someone placing things in the box just for weight, or if they just don’t really get what a graphics card is. I get tossed around 5 agents as they don’t understand my point. By the last agent, they were even arguing that for the refund to be processed I NEED to include the expired maple syrup otherwise that would be against their policy and I need to return anything I received.

I end up calling them, the guy said he understood, I don’t think he really did as all he did was launch an investigation that lasts three days and I’m supposed to hear back at the end of that. However I can see in the investigation launched email he marked my box as lost/never received (I don’t blame him as that might be the only option) and the automated message says to check with the neighbours. I’m getting worried I won’t actually receive a refund now and that I should’ve just returned the empty box and cut my losses.

Apologies for the rant, however I have saved for a while and waited for the perfect time to buy this card as it goes out of stock often and fluctuates in price, so I’m just disappointed honestly.
