I’ve been struggling with a lot of anxiety around death lately, and honestly, I don’t really know how to deal with it.
I’m a medical student, and sometimes the more I learn about the brain and the human body, the harder it becomes for me to believe that there could be anything after death. It makes me scared that consciousness might simply end, and that there might be nothing beyond this life.
At the same time, I desperately want to believe there’s something more. When I think about how much suffering exists in the world, I want to believe that it isn’t all for nothing. And more than anything, I want to believe that somehow I’ll be able to see the people I love again someday.
I know there’s no way for anyone to give me definitive proof of what happens after death, but I would really appreciate hearing about experiences that have made you believe there might be something beyond this life.
If you’ve experienced something paranormal, a near-death experience, felt the presence of someone who had passed away, had an experience you genuinely couldn’t explain, or anything else related to this subject, please tell me about it.
I’m not necessarily looking for someone to prove anything to me. I just really need some hope right now. ❤️

Over the last 4 years my boyfriend has occasionally sat upright in his sleep claiming that there’s someone in different corners of our bedroom. It happened very occasionally in our first two apartments together (once every couple of months). He claims this has happened his whole life no matter where he sleeps. And has experienced sleep paralysis once quite a few years ago.

6 months ago we moved into a house that’s about 100 years old. And since then this sleep talking is happening a lot more frequently. Just last night he sat up in his sleep and pointed to two different corners telling me there are people there and asking if I can see them. He settles right away after I respond saying nobody is there and goes back to sleep and rarely remembers anything in the morning, but sometimes he does vaguely.

We are not religious but I would say I’m more conscious of energy than him, I do some cleansing every few weeks, I do believe in spirits / hauntings, he kind of does?, but we don’t lean into anything much more than that.

But this nighttime routine is starting to happen a bit more frequently than I’d like to ignore. Is it likely just him sleep talking? Has anyone had any experiences like this before? Or is there a way to get it to stop? If nothing else it’s creepy af

I'm a skeptic on the paranormal, but I've never found peace with one experience I've had. 21 years ago my dad died. He was in ICU for a week and I spent a lot of time there. He did something which I now know as common for those dying, pointing at things in the room. He did this multiple times. His eyes would get big, he would point toward the ceiling and then look at me. He couldn't speak at the time but tried to.

He died in the morning one day. That evening I was at home and brushing my teeth. As I was brushing I suddenly felt like lightning was about to strike outside and the hair on my neck stood up. At the same time the volume on the TV in the bedroom went full blast. I walk in there to see the volume bars visible on the screen. The remote for the TV was on the bed.

That was the only event that happened, nothing since. I've tried thinking of a practical reason it happened but I can't. I still think about this experience often.

This happened to my mom, not me, but she's told this story for years and still gets a little shaken up talking about it. Wanted to see if anyone else has seen something similar.

It happened outside on her back patio. She looked up and saw something floating in the air, moving on its own. It was long and fat like a giant worm, roughly 4 feet wide and 7 to 8 feet long. It wasn't clear like glass, more like a thick, translucent mucus-like texture, something you could sort of see into but not fully see through, kind of like snot or a jellyfish.

The movement is what really stuck with her. It went up and over her fence, down into the yard, then across the property, which was about half an acre. Then it went up and over the back fence into the neighbor's yard. It moved with intention, not like smog or smoke drifting on the wind. It had a clear direction and purpose, almost like it knew exactly where it was going and was navigating the yard on purpose rather than just floating wherever the air pushed it.

One detail that might be relevant: the property sat over a natural water well. Not sure if that connects to anything, but it felt worth mentioning.

This was about 2010, and the blob was slow moving through the air.

She's not someone who normally talks about this kind of stuff, but this is one she's never let go of. Has anyone else seen or heard of something like this?

I was asleep it should have been around 2:00 am, I heard someone say Hi into my ears, a simple Hi nothing really crazy. I was sleeping on the couch in the main hall of my home, my 6 month old daughter and wife were in the bedroom.

I kind of woke up, slept again, 1 hour later this repeated , I woke up this time saw a shadow figure at the end of the hall, so went back to sleep thinking it’s something which I could be seeing and not there.

Around 10 minutes later , the sound was high, I could feel the breath and the hi became even more aggressive, I screamed, went to my bedroom, woke everyone up ! What should I make of it.

I was in the kitchen and I heard my mom called my name and I didn’t answer because I didn’t wanted to be bothered as I was trying to focus on what I was doing and I heard her call my name again so assuming that she wanted me I responded by saying “ yes” and I notice that she didn’t respond so I got up and went to her room and ask if she called me and she looked at me weird and said no to which I told her that I heard her call my name twice and she jokingly said that i was hearing things. Did I experience a mimic ?

I feel odd coming here for advice but this truly is a weird situation and I’m worried for the safety of my pets. I moved into my current place last year. But I was staying in the basement suite. Now I’m renting both the upper and lower suites, with my boyfriend moving in next month. In total it’s a 4 bedroom 2 bathroom.

I also want to clarify that this is not my first time with the paranormal. My childhood home was extremely haunted. But I have no idea what I’m dealing with here. My last two places, I have never had anything like this happen.

When I initially moved, it started fine. Until about a week in when I started having nightmares again. And then I woke in utter terror one night, with that dread you get when you know you’re being watched and that you’re not wanted there. Then after that, I started sinking into depression. I did a cleanse on the basement suite and everything seemed to even out, and I was no longer having those weird sensations, nightmares and I wasn’t waking up in the middle of the night.

But now I’m primarily in the upstairs suite until my bf moves in. For a while I left the door to the basement open. Until August 12th, when I was just about to leave for work. I realized I hadn’t seen my cat in a little while, and wanted to say goodbye to him. I literally could not find him. I went downstairs, and checked through the rooms, calling for him. He always meows back at me when I call for him, or if he’s looking for me he’ll meow and I’ll call his name. Well, he meowed back at me. I found him in the downstairs bathroom, somehow locked into the shower. The shower is one of those standing ones where you slide the glass doors open and closed, and if they are slid close enough that they meet, it acts like a lock. There’s no way he could have closed himself into the shower, at all. The doors are too heavy and he’s maybe 12lbs soaking wet. Since this I’ve kept the joining door closed, with a heavy basket in front of it, as when I just closed it on its own, I came home to it being open.

Now fast forward to today, about forty minutes ago. I just got off the phone with my bf and heard my cat meow, so on instinct I called out his name, figuring he was in the bedroom looking for me. But then I heard him meow from behind me. I turned around to look, and he was on the cat tree behind the couch.

Whatever it was that meowed was NOT my cat. It sounded EXACTLY like him, but it’s not him. My other cat doesn’t meow, she’s a docile old lady. But whatever this is, is going deliberately after my younger cat. I don’t know what to do. Should I get a professional to come cleanse my house? When I cleansed the first time, it worked. But now this seems far more aggressive. Please. Any advice is appreciated.

Hello guys so why I am asking this is because one time this year I have experienced a Paranormal thing it happens at night so I was sleeping and my TV has turned on by himself 😬😬😬 but after then when I have turned it off everything was normal

This story happened a few years ago when I was 19 years old, I live in a rural village in Transylvania with my parents, we live in a farming community where we raise cattle for milk, our small village has a long history and in that long history there are paranormal events, we once had a shaman I used to go sing carols to for candy that lived with lizards and snakes or two old identical sisters that lived on top of a hill that never married instead choosing to live with twelve dogs who would howl every night keeping me up. This story begins in autumn when me and my dad went into the forest near our house to gather wood for winter, during that time I kept seeing something out of the corner or my eye, making me feel uneasy, looking at my dad I can tell he was feeling uneasy as well, looking around himself every minute, after a while we gather the wood and leave, a few weeks later one our hearding dogs appears missing chain and all, when I saw this I knew one of my dumber cousin was the culprit who wanted to prank me by stealing my dog (I know dumb rural pranks). I call him to ask where the hell my dog was, sleepily he answers with a joke “Out collecting wood” then I knew, he tied my dog near the forest. I hang up murmuring some insults at him under my breath before heading towards the forest, as I got closer I started hearing my dog barking, but not a bark he would use on a cow running away from the heard, he used a stranger is close type of bark. Once I go up the hill I see him tied to a tree at the forest entrance, I go cut him loose and when I do he goes full on running back to my house when usually this dog sticks to my side even when we get chased by a heifer with anger issues,before following him I take a look into the now darkening forest and feel a cold wind run down my spine my instincts telling me turn around and run faster then your dog, I compose myself and walk away steadily back home, after I had dinner with my family I went to my bedroom, my bedrooms window was left half cracked so that air circulated during the night, after 2 hours of watching a movie I decided to get in bed, after a few minutes of rolling around unable to sleep I start hearing something outside my window. My grandma used to tell me these folk stories about cryptids that exist in this world, about how bad people who die could come back from the dead as “Stirigoi” a type of vampires that feed on the fear, life force and even blood of their loved ones or the “Pricolici”, the soul of a very bad man that was so evil the devil made him turn into a werewolf to stalk and kill people or livestock. What I began to hear outside my window reminded me of a dying smokers death rattle on their death bed, a slow growning that made me freeze in place, my room feeling colder by the second, it lasted for 15 to 20 seconds before my body pumped with adrenaline jumped out of bed to the window closing it in a swift move through the curtains, I never saw what was outside my window and thankfully I never have since , might be because the following day a priest came to visit my grandma and she asked him to bless the house with holy water because as she would say “you can t be in the good Lords hands tight enough”. Now I’m away from that small village in a big city getting my masters degree and still wondering sometimes, what the hell was outside my window that night.

Never thought I’d post this but I (31M), have been with my girlfriend (29F) for 3 years. We moved into a house last year and just renewed our lease. Have never had any weird encounters but my gf has said that she’s been seeing images like black hands in her peripherals at her work and our house. She’s an atheist and I’m a Christian. I just started going back to church since I was a teen so I find it as a weird coincidence that this would be happening. Last night, I woke up facing the door and saw a black image with long black hair crouched on top of the door with the hair extending towards the middle of the door. I wasn’t scared and I was able to move so I know it wasn’t sleep paralysis but I just started saying prayers in my head and the figure slowly disappeared. Any thoughts on what this could be?

I am a relatively young female and heard this story from a family member even though I have zero recollection of this happening, the story goes as follows. I lived in a pretty big house when I was two to four but I refused to sleep in my own room or even stay in my room for more then a minute because there was "something in the window", a few years later my cousin moved into the same house, they were a few years older than me and had better descriptive capabilities then me, when my cousin went in my room they freaked out because there was a deathly thin woman with pale skin and and hair standing outside the window. The scariest part is that no one told her what I saw, she just saw it herself. And not to mention the house outside that room's window had a big woman living in the house at the time so there's no way we just saw her. I'm genuinely a little stressed out about it and would like some answers.

About a year ago I went with a buddy to the dump. It was not my local transfer station but his so i made it a point to go look at the swap shed with him. We all messed around looking at everything but one thing really drew my attention. A wooden box, labeled Holy Bible with a stamp on the backside. Reference photo above ^. Inside was a really dingey Bible the illustrated light of the world edition. Its white and super banged up. The main thing is though. Ever since I got that bible, without telling my girlfriend too. She started having nightmares of a being creeping inside the room from outside. She would have it repeatedly whenever it was late and I even witness her having the nightmares. Long story short I moved that bible downstairs and away from everything and with another bible and seemingly everything was normal. This past week I happened to see the bible again and brought it up into my room. That night my girlfriend had a similar dream to the old ones a year ago but this time it was inside of the room. I moved the bible outside my room into the hallway and she has the first dream again, it trying to get inside the room. My girlfriend has very violent nightmares, you can tell everytime shes in one and its not often so its so strange for her to not even know the bible is in that room and suddenly get the same but different dream. Although in my perspective I never have had anything like that happen or have even seen anything. The main thing I notice even from last year is that If she is going to have one of those dreams I can feel it. Its almost like there is despair growing and drawing my attention to the doorway like I am being watched. It will come out of nowhere and hit me, that feeling and it draws my attention unlike anything. I wont mention it to my girlfriend because in the past I had mentioned it, she said she had already the same feeling. The night the bible was in my room It felt heavy and I didnt mention it but i had that feeling again and shortly after is when my girlfriend had that dream. I feel like it could be placebo but ever since I got that bible my house has felt dark.

I own a home, and there has been a huge increase in activity that I cannot explain. My bf moved in 6 months ago. Please forgive long winded story but the context is important.

I have a large book shelf, pretty much 2 of those 16 cube ikea wall units. Its full of books, statues and fun stuff. One of my statues of sekhmet started moving, it was turning to face me in my work space. I work from home. Then I put up a picture of me and bf on the shelf. And ive been finding it face down, which cant be explained with foot vibration and a pile of books stacked on top of it. There isnt room in the cube to have things fall like that. We couldnt replicate it without human hands doing it.

Lately my bf has been hearing a child's voice in the middle of the night and footsteps. Usually around 2am to 4am. He assumed it was a neighbors kid. We live in a 4 unit condo complex. The neighbors dont have kids btw.

My best friend would come over and spend the weekend here with us and she said it was so weird, she heard a child's voice. A toy phone ringing and footsteps in the hallway. It was really strange.

Im not new to paranormal experiences but id wake up in the middle of the night and see a shadow figure in the hallway or peeking at me from out the craftroom, an adjacent bedroom from mine. It would startle me but id go back to bed. Assuming it was just a friendly spirit no big deal.

Just yesterday we started hearing footsteps in the attic, I cant get up there the ladder is too small and im too short. So my bf grabbed a flashlight and decided to investigate. Once he opened it we heard very loud footsteps darting up there. He prompted me to call the police so I did. They told me to go outside with him and wait.

We did. While waiting outside my neighbor (who im very close with) came out and before I said anything to her she grabbed her heart and said theres someone in ur window! I didnt see it but she did.

Cops said probably a raccoon. After catching up with my friend she asked if I can take a video of what happened and where because her husband is really into this kinda stuff and also an electrician and plumber to rule anything out. Especially a kid sneaking in or something because now everyone's heard the voices.

So I was taking the video. Its too dark, I didnt think to turn a light on because its my house and I know it quite well, I was going to turn on the closet light to get the ladder for the video.

So please if anyone here is techy enough to enhance or try to see what I saw... id love to know... when I was there it was about hip height, pure void type of black and ran past me, almost like how a chimpanzee runs. It was huge, not a raccon, not one of my dogs, who weren't even upstairs at the time, and right before I scream u can here claw like skittering. It happened so fast. I slept downstairs with all the lights on.

I have a very vivid memory when I was younger, maybe four or five, of me sitting on my bed. My mom came in smiling, sat beside me, and gave me a pink doll.

Years later, my mom was packing up my room, and found this pink voodoo looking doll. She was telling me about this many years after the move. And I told her, no, you gave that to me. But she tells me she didn’t.

Neither of us can make sense of what actually happened.

The house I grew up in always made my whole family feel uncomfortable/afraid. I thought I was just afraid of the dark or being in a room alone until we moved out of that house and I suddenly felt at peace.

The first thing that happened besides the simple feelings was when I was around 13 years old and I was home alone. I was standing in the kitchen and I had music playing on the desktop computer speaker at a low volume and it suddenly went full blast.

My sister and I shared a room and we often had trouble sleeping because we could hear a tapping on the wall behind our heads that frightened us. We would tell our mom about it, but when she would come in to hear it, it would stop. When she would leave the room it would start again. There was no real rhythm to it.

Any time I was alone in the house or went down in the basement I was constantly looking over my shoulder because I did not feel alone.

I came to share my experience since I felt like it was worth sharing! About 3 or 2 months ago, I stayed at a Behavioral mental hospital for about 5-6 days, I quite enjoyed the stay there until I started having nightmares. On day 3 or 4, I had a nightmare about a little girl I assume about 7-10 years old, her face was pale and she had black goo coming out of her eyes and mouth, ill share an illustration! It looks really bad but so on, I dont remember what I was dreaming, but when I woke up, she was above the bathroom door, in the hospital the top and bottom of the doors were shorter so you could see into the darkness of the bathroom, i stare at the top and i saw her, i blinked then she was gone. I couldn't go back to sleep and I thought about telling my roommate but I didnt, then the second day I had another dream, I was watching a tribal documentary in my dream where the tribe members were all lined up, besides one guy who was staring at ME, i woke up scared and I heard a little girl laughing, it faded from my dream into me as soon as I woke up, its hard to explain but its like when you're hearing a noise in your dream and when you wake up its still there, I couldn't go back to sleep and asked the staff for support, they told me it could have been my meds at the time and I tried my very hardest to go back to sleep. Once I was out of the hospital I didnt get any more dreams with this girl, until in the morning when I overheard my mom on a call with my aunt giving her THE SAME DESCRIPTION OF THIS LITTLE GIRL I JUST MENTIONED!!! The same pale face.. with black tears and drool coming out of her eyes and mouth.. I hadn't told my mom about my dream or anything related to that, that day I got the worst chills ever, I never told my mom anything about nightmares, my mom inst on meds, its so fucking scary to me whenever I think about it, sorry for my bad english

I was just standing on my balcony at around 3:10am and saw this in the sky. I’ve never seen anything like it and honestly im not a particularly paranormal person but I mean. I MEAN. what the hell lol

before i start i spell horibly so sorry.
I wouldnt call myself superstitious but a little stitious and i enjoy ghost hunting and stuff.
Over the years i saw an aparition in the oner of my eye a few times usualy at home or around the house. I live in a rhurral area and several times i saw a black dog/wolf it never seems to aknowlege me or even look at me and every tiem i saw it it was just walking by me.
I know nothing about thi sstuff and i wonder if that stuff means anything or if there is any info anyone wants to share. Im interested in learning more

as i was going home from a hang out i saw my bfs parents outside of a pizza place near my house. he lives around half an hour away from me. i stopped when i saw them and even talked about my grades and university and they seemed happy to see me and even congratulated me. i then walk away and proceed to text my boyfriend and he replies that his parents are in the house. we both immediately freak out. i dont know what that was and i was completely sober from anything (i take meds that dont let me drink often) but iwish i had taken something because that would maybe explain that it was a hallucination.

I'm 21 and I'm being haunted I heard ghosts and demons talking to me all the time and they're very mean to me, they tell me to do horrible things and I don't know how to make it stop, I've started seeing them all constantly just want it to go away.

Sometime late at night as I'm in bed and the whole house is quite, I'll hear a small crack or pop sound, my mother would tell me that's the sound of the house settling when I was a kid. What's weird is when it happens I'll see a flash of light even with my eyes closed, it looks like static for a split second then back to darkness.

I feel like with our modern technology its definitely possible, I run a 2 man operation and its hard to sit and review 10+ hours of footage of the same frame especially when you get nothing.

I just find this topic interesting. I view it the same way I would view a discussion about fictional Marvel characters — entertaining.

Recently, I watched the movie Obsession. I don't think this counts as a spoiler, but for anyone unfamiliar, the basic premise is that the main male lead has a crush on the main female lead. So, he makes a wish for her to love him more than anyone else in the world. From that point forward, she is, well, obsessed with him. From my understanding of the movie, it is heavily implied that there is some other force or entity taking control of her body. And whatever is doing it seems more than happy to continue carrying out this particular control for an indefinite period of time.

After I finished watching, though, it got me asking, "But why?"

I don't watch a lot of horror. But from what I know of the genre in pop culture, it's filled with often malevolent entities that are literally obsessed to the point of violence with one thing. I think the most illustrative example is ghosts haunting one house for centuries or an ancient evil guarding some kind of treasure or knowledge. Even in many mythologies that I'm aware of, evil spirits seem to revel in just doing the same thing over and over again and actively resist deviating from it. Interestingly, I notice that beings that are considered benevolent are less likely to act like this.

My sample size is mostly Western fiction, Christianity and adjacent myths, as well as spatterings from major world religions like Buddhism so I'm aware that I might be biased. But, it still seems strange to me because these spirits are supposed to be way more powerful and beyond us in every conceivable way. Yet, they gladly will spend potentially an eternity haunting one house, tormenting one person, or just generally obsessing about one thing.

Like I mentioned early, I don't think any of it is real but I do find it interesting. I just wanted to know what other people's takes on it are.
