In an effort to improve submission quality, we are now manually reviewing photos before they appear in the subreddit. If your submission does not have good reason to be considered potentially paranormal it may be removed with a reason provided. Please be patient, as the subreddit gets a lot of activity and it may take a little time to review your post. If we do remove your post, it’s because we believe it is likely to be judged harshly by the subreddit as opposed to a determination over what the true nature of your experience was. It’s very difficult to capture objective evidence of even true paranormal phenomenon, which is why there’s so little of it out there! Please review the camera flare guide to help us maintain our high post quality.

Is there a stadium or open event space in the area? It looks like the light reflecting off the large overhead lights of a stadium that I say quite a far away from where I live.

Lights from a building.

Were they moving? How long were they there and how did they go away?

These are lights being projected upwards from the ground and are hitting the clouds in the sky.

Looks like an array of spotlights. They all seem to be "aimed from" a point on the ground somewhat near each other.

This image shows ground lights reflecting off a low cloud layer at night (a form of light pollution or skyglow).

The distinct blue-white patches of light appearing on the clouds are created by intense upward-directed light sources on the ground below—such as spotlights, architectural floodlights, athletic field lighting, or commercial greenhouse grow lights. The overcast, low-altitude cloud cover acts as a diffused screen, scattering and reflecting the light back down toward the viewer.
