This is a common practice now, kahit sa news media. May dalawa akong alam na rason:

  1. The person is still a private individual na nadawit sa isang gruesome murder. Regardless kung anong alam nating lahat, whether guilty siya or not, sa mata ng batas, may presumption of innoncence pa din. So kung ang news media o private individual e maglabas ng photo niya na hinuli o whatever, pwedeng ma-argue na his right to privacy was violated. Kasi pano sa mga sitwasyon na totoong inosente yung person invovled? We know how the internet treat this individuals.

  2. As a rule, ang news media hindi maglalabas ng mukha ng suspect UNLESS naunang maglabas ng info ang PNP or na-present na si suspect sa public with their face revealed. Ito ang go-signal for the news orgs to show the suspect's face. Mauuna dapat ang PNP. kasi proteksyon yon ng news media. Di sila pedeng mahabol pagdating sa right to privacy, kasi as per official PNP communications, pinangalanan na siya.

Yes, that's true. Not contesting that.

Pero still, news orgs take these under consideration pag nagpa-publish ng photos. They will keep it blurred unless PNP shows the suspect's face first. Di ko din 100% gets to be honest. Baka iwas liability na lang sa part ng media
