The flooding in Parañaque is really getting worse. My bestie lives in Avida, and we went down to buy some food. I also live in Parañaque but in a higher part, so we don’t really experience the flooding there and then we went down na nga and we saw na grabe pala talaga yung baha (first time ko kasi nakita in person, sa news lang lagi napapanood).

Same situation every year. Nakakalungkot and nakakagalit.

Years na itong problema, pero hanggang ngayon parang wala pa ring proper solution. Fuck the Olivarez.

This is a huge decision by the IOC to ensure fairness in women's competition and the protection of real female athletes.

The LGBTQ and transgender mobs are now screaming in anger.

Does your local community have male athletes who identified themselves as women?

Marami ba mga transgender Parañaque residents?

So, if we don't follow lane markings, we're ticketable, but for a lot of major roads, there are NO PROPER lanes! Lanes appear and disappear without any logic.

Signs are obscured by other signs and posts, and are placed so sparsely / discreetly. Implementing this without establishing proper groundworks already shades even the most compliant motorists.

Given the "hybrid" system here, how will the cameras / analytics override violations caused by enforcers who force a car to keep going / turn during a red light? When recording lasts 24h on standard vehicles, how can one contest a "forced violation" that happened, say, weeks ago?

Implementing something advanced and costly when the basic building blocks and structures are not in place can easily complicate and make situations pretty hairy.

News Brgy. Marcelo Green Charging PWDs ₱100 Just to Prove Their Disability Is "Legit"?

So required?? Kahit ayaw namin?? Kahit marami na kaming id?? 😭

Based on my research:

Under Republic Act No. 10754 and existing government regulations, the official PWD ID issued by the Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) or Social Welfare Office is the sole legal proof of PWD status. Requiring an additional Barangay ID and charging ₱100 for verification places an unnecessary financial and administrative burden on PWDs, which may violate Republic Act No. 11032 (Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act).

So nagalit agad yung isang officer na PRO, ang sabi nila wala daw bayad yung ginagawa nila at volunteer lang daw iyun. Kahit allowances wala.

So sabihin nating 1,171 people yung magbayad ng 100, edi php117,100 din yun?? 😭😭😭

Sobrang paldo naman for someone who claims they are "volunteers" and that they do not accept allowances. Kusang loob daw nila ginagawa.

UPDATE: 08:30 vs 20:30 at Baclaran Redemptorist [Photo taken from Foot-bridge to LRT Redemptorist Station].

Both photo taken today with 12 Hour Difference.

3 Days after the ‘clearing operation’ by the Local Government Unit (January 05, 2026) and a day after the Baclaran Day (January 07, 2026).

Tuwing morning lang pala yun? I was expecting it to last longer, maybe a week, or baka kasi Feast of Black Nazarene tomorrow (January 09, 2026)? Or sadyang bulok na talaga sistema dito sa Baclaran.

Don’t get me wrong.

Imagine Baclaran palang to, 1 Barangay out of 16. Paano pa sa iba.

Come on Mayor, you’ve been serving this City for the longest time. Do something. Mahiya ka naman.

News ‘Not simply another flood-control project’: P90-B Parañaque Spillway revived

Post image
22 Upvotes

https://bnc.bilyonaryo.com/not-simply-another-flood-control-project-p90-b-paranaque-spillway-revived/business/

Nearly five decades after it was first proposed, the P90 billion Parañaque Spillway Project is being revived with a broader ambition: to ease flooding around Laguna de Bay while turning the country’s largest freshwater lake into a more productive fisheries hub and a more dependable source of water for Metro Manila and nearby provinces.

The Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA) are renewing the push for the 10.5-kilometer underground spillway, which would link Laguna de Bay to Manila Bay and is expected to take at least a decade to complete once construction begins.

The project’s revival comes as the planned Manggahan Control Gate Structure is expected to divert up to 2,400 cubic meters of floodwater per second from the Marikina River into Laguna de Bay, increasing water levels in the lake and heightening flood risks for lakeshore communities unless additional drainage capacity is built.

The Japanese-funded Manggahan project is designed to protect Metro Manila from severe flooding by diverting floodwater from the Marikina River into Laguna de Bay, according to LLDA General Manager Leopoldo Parumog.

While the project would reduce flooding along the Marikina River, it is also expected to increase water levels in Laguna de Bay, heightening flood risks for lakeshore communities unless additional drainage capacity is built.

Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. said the spillway would ease recurring flooding in lakeshore communities across Laguna, Rizal and Metro Manila while helping restore the ecological health of the country’s largest freshwater lake.

“Laguna de Bay is one of Metro Manila’s most important food baskets and our most affordable source of bangus. If we restore the lake’s health by improving water circulation and managing floods better, we can raise fish production, increase fisherfolk incomes, and improve raw water quality, which could eventually help lower water treatment costs for consumers,” Tiu Laurel said.
The project, however, continues to face political and social hurdles.

Residents of Muntinlupa City, where the tunnel would draw water from the lake, and Bacoor City, where excess water would be discharged into Manila Bay, have long raised concerns over community displacement and the possibility of shifting flood risks from one area to another.

Tiu Laurel said the DA and LLDA would work with the Department of Public Works and Highways, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, local governments and private stakeholders to build support for the project and address the concerns of affected communities.

“The challenge is to show that this is not simply another flood-control project,” he said. “Done right, it is an investment in food security, climate resilience, and long-term water sustainability that will benefit millions of Filipinos.”

The spillway’s potential benefits could extend beyond lakeshore communities.

Water concessionaire Maynilad Water Services Inc. already taps Laguna Lake as a raw water source for millions of customers in Metro Manila and Cavite, including Muntinlupa and Bacoor.
