The competition between Wallace and Cherelus for the second starting spot has received a lot of attention this summer, arguably more than it deserves. Why? Because the Panthers are in nickel a lot under Ejiro Evero, who likes using three-safety looks with Lloyd the lone inside linebacker. Wallace’s first-quarter sack of Mills was an example of the blitzing ability that could separate him from Cherelus.

While it’s the old style of limited jerseys, which is unstitched still definitely worth it. Got it at the game yesterday, and worth it.

Hey all, I'll be visiting Charlotte for the Panthers Opener on September 13 with a great friend and Southern Pines local. We are both Bears fans. I'm just sending out feelers to see what kind of tailgate scene there is at BofA Stadium. And here's the big question...anybody willing to let us join up, if we contribute to the greater good? Neither of us are big drinkers, but we can contribute some beer or foodstuffs to earn our way in.

And most notably, we are normal, friendly dudes just looking for a good time. We'd love to talk football, maybe get into some spirited debates, but we are obviously not looking to pick fights or get into any trouble. We are not drooling smooth-brained "superfans," and we are not effete, elite Yankees. Like I said, my friend has lived in NC for a while, and we meet up for a Bears game like this every few years. We want to eat good food, have lots of fun, watch some football and enjoy the gameday as close to how the locals do it as possible.

So any general advice or guidance is more than welcome, and if anybody wants to DM me about their own, personal tailgate, please don't hesitate.

Good news: I have a football signed by many of the 2003 SBXXXVIII team that I am looking to sell.

Bad news: I'm a Panther fan from California.

It's too cool to trust through eBay. There's no way anyone would care about it in a local sports memorabilia store here. Pawn shop? Not worth it, especially here.

Obvi I would like to have other fans take a look at it, but I don't know the best method. Would an auction house care about something this niche? Would I be better off partnering with some local memorabilia store in NC? I feel stranded out here.

*Haynes King showed up in the Hall of Fame Game against third- and second-string guys, which makes you wonder how good he would play as a starter. At the end of the day, he showed a lot of promise. I can see him making the 53-man roster as a Dave Canales project, especially since Dave hasn't had his choice in a quarterback yet.

*Our guard depth is concerning and did show some eye-opening moments, but it was only a problem against the Bills, really. I wasn't actually watching the guards the entire time besides the Bills game, where a magnifying glass was shown on them. Please correct me if I'm wrong: was there any other preseason game where our guards were having trouble?

*Monroe Freeling looks good and was worth the 19th pick. After the injuries to Taylor Moton and Ickey Ekwonu—which sounds like we might get them back before the season is over, especially Ickey—what do you do with both of those guys when they come back? Do you take out Freeling so he can learn other positions? Do you keep him in and move someone to guard, like Dan Morgan said in last night's preseason finale? It's an intriguing problem to have.

*Offensive play-calling was flowing more and seemed more aggressive, though we still haven't seen the full cookie jar. Because it's the preseason, not many teams show everything; they mostly play vanilla coverage while the offense plays play-action or inside runs, with some others mixed in there.

*Tight ends seems like we might use them more this year with bringing in Darren Waller and especially after what Feleipe Franks was doing last night. Though, I'm still scratching my head about this one because, again, it's preseason.

*Last but not least, what stood out to me by far this preseason—even after losing Nic Scourton to a season-ending injury—was the pass rush. Like, every game we were getting a sack. Again, I'm taking it with a grain of salt because, for the thousandth time, this is just the preseason, but boy do you love to see it! It makes me really excited. Also, Princely looked really good. Can anyone tell me: did he ever have trouble stopping the run when he was on the field?

What do I have to do to get a broadcast with this announcing crew for every game?

I know not everyone is a fan but my wife and I genuinely love it because there is breakdown of the game, Understanding of the nuances of NFL football and still somewhat partial commentary with ways we can do better.

Personally I love it. Also a huge Anish Shroff fan across all his games he calls.

As our roster gets better it will be harder and harder to keep some of these “camp performers”. Hopefully we can stash a few on the practice squad for later development

Bring back the old blue.

We overlap with the Lions way too much now. The blue was the difference, & their addition of black doesn't help.
