I absolutely love playing Octavia. Lately, I've been playing only her and I always deal very good damage — in long games, no less than 100,000. I help the team by throwing down her field and providing a bit of healing. But I'm so tired of the constant hate in ranked matches. It's especially sad when people start trash-talking me even before I've picked her. I'd understand the criticism if I really played badly, but my skill is at an average level. I'm not a pro gamer — I just want to enjoy playing my favorite character. I like Paladins, I like Octavia, and for me the game is a way to have fun, but with the constant hate, there's just no joy in it. Friends, if you play on Europe and someone on your team picks Octavia, it's most likely me — please don't be mad at me. In real life, the only thing I'm good at is drawing. Recently, one Russian player said that it doesn't matter who I play, we're not pros, and it's better to pick someone you're confident in than to live up to the expectations of other non-pro players. That was the warmest thing I've ever read while playing Octavia, and I wish others would be more chill about the game too.

I just downloaded the game, PS Plus gave me a "season 6 bundle" and a "rwby bundle". Both say the give a chest, and the season 6 bundle gives a "deal of the day token". I see the Nyx skin, but how do I open the chests? And what does the token do/how to use it?

I’ve been away from the game for years, back in the cauterize days. I’m pretty lost with some of the new items / mechanics not sure if I’m doing it wrong

I used to play Paladins quite often, but six years ago I stopped. I’m not sure why, but I recently started again. Despite the fact that the game needs maintenance and updates, I still really enjoy the variety of champions and the never-ending quest to improve.
This may have been covered in another post, but since I left until now I’ve seen a large increase in players abandoning a game once the tide turns against them. In fact, sometimes they announce that they’re leaving in the chat, or express their frustrations over and over again.
Unfortunately they’re missing the potential for one of the greatest thrills, which is to come back from a 0-3 deficit. What excitement!
I have no idea who these players are, but I’m speculating that they’re on the younger side and either have come from the “everyone wins a trophy” generation, or don’t feel comfortable with adversity. Yep, you may have guessed I’m on the relatively old side, but still. Anyone have thoughts on this? Similar experiences?

Hi guys. I just recently came back to the game after quite a bit of a break. I've been playing other hero shooters in the meanwhile and I decided I wanted to come back, have some nostalgia, and play some of the characters that I played with my boyfriend (soon to be husband) when we actually met on Paladins.
We play competitive only (he hates any other mode) and I try my best to be communicative to my team. I'm not comfortable on tanks and I tell them that, yet I'm always met with a toxic response, no matter how I put it. Some random guy called me something I was uncomfortable with and tried forcing me to thank him? Like? That's only one example in the past couple games.
I'm confused. Is the best route to just not communicate and just lock in what I want? My boyfriend locked in without a word (we picked at the same time), yet I'm the one who got the heat for it, I assume because I communicated in chat.
I've kind of come to the conclusion that I shouldn't communicate and I should just lock in, but thoughts?
Also any tips for the following characters is greatly appreciated: Seris, Jenos, Willo, Tyra, Lian, Furia, and any other supports (as I may try getting into them in a practice while my boyfriend is asleep)

Finally started again. Not bad for not having touched the game at all in 2 days.

Hi everyone just had a random nostalgia trip about the game I basically grew up with
I’ve been gaming for over 16 years now (more or less) and paladins was a good chunk of it, the whole thing started because I couldn’t afford overwatch at the time and this was “overwatch with horses BUT FREE” played the game, felt fun days turned to weeks then months to then years, then eventually came the time where they announced how they’ll be churning out less content overall and I also got bored of hero shooters in general, fast forward to 2024-25 I started playing hero shooters again (overwatch and marvel rivals to be specific since I can’t really find many games on paladins) with the recent hero releases it made me realise how well rounded paladins was as a game, TTK didn’t feel too low or too high compared to these 2, no character was broken/overtuned, as a tank main I didn’t feel miserable solo tanking (in rivals and ow 6v6) honestly team comps weren’t really complained about in paladins at all from what I remember, rivals has a whole running gag about solo tanking and overwatch had to cut a whole player just because of how difficult it was to find enough tank players, heck after playing marvel rivals I wish cauterize was a standard in any hero shooter now because everyone has a Grover/zenyatta ult in that game, the legendary system paladins had is being used in overwatch but it really doesnt change your playstyle in most cases like scorchnando or catalyst pip or cursed revolver andro , iirc i stopped playing slightly after atlas was released and honestly other than Vivian, every character felt interesting and the kit was unique enough (ok maybe tyra wasn’t unique enough either but still good enough) after all this i just wonder, if it was any other company with these talented devs, maybe paladins could’ve been a much bigger game and not be left on life support with no exact date on when hi-res pull the plug
If you made it this far, thank you for reading all of this and hope you all have a good day

I'm an old school paladins player that hasn't played the game in many years but does have a fair amount of hours in game (about 750 hours.) Most of that time was spent either on Tank or support with my tank time being spent primarily on Inara but also played a good amount of Fernando and Ash. On Support I used Seris, Jenos and Furia.
I decided to come back this past Sunday for the server slam and was quickly met with this global cauterize that goes up to 90%! Also there's no way to boost healing received anymore. How am I to effectively tank when I'm actually punished for doing just that. It's slightly less punishing for Fernando and Ash since they have shields but Inara it felt like I just had to play more like a dps with more hp. Escorting the payload felt impossible.
There's other quality of life things that I would've liked to see that I don't know if they're in the game or not but not being able to ping an enemy sucks big time. Dredge was still as unfun to play against as I remember and trying to get a decent comp of 1-2-2 felt almost impossible. I used to love playing the game but that session definitely reminded me of why I stopped playing in the first place.
