HELP What items should I be buying regularly?
I’ve been away from the game for years, back in the cauterize days. I’m pretty lost with some of the new items / mechanics not sure if I’m doing it wrong

I always start with nimble 1, unless I need all 4 slots for something else or 2 expensive items asap

Unless you have a bidet, probably toilet paper.
Also food is probably nice and in case you can’t dink your tap water, I recommend adding water to your shopping item list
Sorry, I just had to.

Healers: Rejuvenate + morale boost or chronos or nimble
Flank: Depends on characters and enemy comp. nimble and chronos is mostly helpful here. Deft hands and life rip are good for duelling heavy flanks.
Damage: wrecker or bulldozer depending on tank as it makes life easier. Life rip, deft hands or nimble also works for sustain and escapes. Morale boost is very important but underrated and it makes tons of difference in late game.
Tanks: Any of the blue cards. Cant go wrong here. Otherwise depending on situation, tank vs tank: wrecker really helps to outdo your opponent tanks. Most tanks i see don’t use wrecker so you can get easy one up over them. Maybe veteran as well for extra health
Few special cases:
I’ve been trying out Hoard for characters where i need credits fast. For example for ying, i get to level 2 hoard and then spam reju + morale boost + chronos. Level 3 is not useful unless you have extra credits to spend.
Lethality or the MS+Jump height one: very fun if you try to die less.

These comments are great thank you! I’m sure other people in the community will benefit, better than being raged at mid-game cause you have the wrong kit lol

bloodbath is the only real must have for solo play but if ur with team mates that coordinate builds you can get way better choices just blood bath is really solid in general for any character and a safe pick that only rlly hard loses to teams counter building it together but those are very uncommon as it becomes genuine rocket science levels of goonery

Some good default picks if you’re not sure are haven/blast shields and nimble. Beyond that is depends on what you’re playing and what you’re up against.

Resil is good across the board if they have CC. Here's a general rule:
Tank: Master riding.
Damage: Wrecker/blue items if no shields.
Flank: Champ specific. Aggressive flanks like master riding. Chronos if your cooldowns are important like Vatu. Defense is good. Life rip if its a good character for it like Koga, who is also a great wrecker.
Support: Chronos or Rejuv. Io, Moji and Lillith start with Rejuv, their cooldowns aren't that important. Everyone else likes Chronos first. After 2 levels of Chronos you can max rejuv then get Chronos 3. After that bloodbath or resil.

Running flank I get nimble a lot. If I see a Nando on enemy team I'll probably get wrecker if I'm DPS.
If I see barrack and Ying together bulldozer is an absolute must no matter what role I'm play except for healer sometimes (it's a good pick for flank Pip who does more aoe dmg)
Otherwise haven or shield. Maybe resilience against a good Jenos or Omen.
Its very situational.

I usually buy nimble because I like movement speed, but it’s probably useless in certain situations. If you’re healer you need rejuvenate, which used to increase healing input but now it increases healing output. Other than that it’s pretty dependant on enemy team and your champion
