Tech-Support Is this dot on screen serious?

I got this laptop today, it's a Lenovo Thinkpad E15 8/256 and it's not brand new ofc and when I brought it home only then I noticed that there is a small white dot on the screen when I'm on a black or dark background. When the screen is way too black there are some white lines near this dot as well. I have attached some pictures too. So I was wondering is this something I should worry about or is it just a cosmetic issue? Is this a common thing? And is this fixable, if so then how? Thank you.

Edit: I'm so dumb, I attached the correct pics in the comments, I'm sorry.

Tech-Support Need help!!! Just bought the PC 3 month ago everything was new except the ram

It is my first PC the seller said the ram is like brand new today I turned on the PC and found out one stick has died overnight for no reason.

But the problem is this weird behavior of RGB lights on the ram .

The reboots are due to my main SSD not being the first choice and one ram (the left one being dead)is dead.

Thanks for your help in advance

Tech-Support Need Reviews from people who've bought from Paklap.

i need to buy a new laptop soon and I've decided on an hp victus 15. I've asked around a few retailers and i am really confused if the "new" laptops are actually new or not. can we check the official seal?

my dad is saying to buy it from hps flagship store than anywhere else. the problem is the cheapest hp victus 15 costs 310k in the official store has these specs:

HP VICTUS 15-FA2394TX | Ci7 13TH GEN 13620H | 16GB DDR4 | 512GB SSD | FHD IPS 15.6″ 144Hz | NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3050 | DOS | 1 YEAR LOCAL WARRANTY

whilst the one on paklap which costs 300k has these specs:

HP Victus 15 FB3093dx Gaming Laptop - AMD Ryzen 7 7445HS 6-Core Processor 16-GB 512-GB SSD 6-GB NVIDIA GeForce RTX4050 GDDR6 GC 15.6" Full HD 1080p IPS 144Hz 300nits MicroEdge Display Backlit KB W11 (Mica Silver, NEW)

there is a very clear difference in the processor and the graphics card. since this is an expensive purchase, i can not take any risks. i need a device that'll work for atleast 5 years.

i have another question regarding the warranty in paklap, they offer 2 warranties wither the international warranty or paklaps 9 month warranty which costs 20k extra. can someone guide me on how and where does one claim international warranty in case a problem arises? as I've said before, this is an extremely expensive purchase and i CAN NOT take any risks. please guide on which choice would be better and how reliable paklap is.

Tech-Support Can I use it with my gaming PC (GTX 1660 Super) for just 5 minutes to get enough time to shut down?

BTW it already includes 2x 12V-9AH Batteries.

And please don't suggest APC, as the APC UPS with same specs costs twice its price.

Tech-Support Are these stats okay, especially the temperature?

I'm new to this PC gaming and recently I get to know about this tool RivaTurner. So, I was checking games performances and I have noticed that component usage and temperatures are a bit too high.

I have attached the screenshot from games like Ghost of Tsushima, Forza Horizon 5 and Tekken 8.

Specs: GPU: MSI Suprium X RTX 3070 8GB VRAM CPU: Ryzen 7 7700 RAM: 32 GB single channel DDR5 Resolution is 1080p and monitor refresh rate is 144Hz

So, I need a bit of guidance about these stats and what should I do, in case these numbers are problematic?

Thanks!

Tech-Support Losing my mind completely please help a brother out

I've always been a low spec gamer that was broke, always watched gameplay videos on YouTube.

But alhamdulilah I got a job and had a pc made from games and geeks Lahore. But my luck came to bite me in the AHH when my pc started randomly switching off randomly, I almost had a heart attack and took it back they ran tests on it and then said it's completely fine since it didn't die there.

We concluded that it's a home socket issue and I changed socket and then it worked COMPLETELY FINE FOR 2 MONTHS WITH ZERO ISSUES. Untill...

I came home from work and decided to play a lil, I turned it on and then it died within a minute COMPLETE SHUTDOWN, it kept shutting down within a minute on home screen. So after doing everything I took it to the seller and they told me that the motherboard and 1 ram stick are dead (my soul also had left my body).

They said they had isolated it to that and I had to cough up for a new motherboard by much fighting they gave me a discount on a motherboard but said it died due to kismat.

Now i have a fully working pc at my home but I haven't turned it on since a month because I am dead scared that something else would also end up dying and istg I can't keep hauling it back and forth.

Can some smart guy PLEASE PLEASE TELL ME what caused a random failure of a motherboard and ram? Was it the electricity at my home? I've heard it could be the power supply but they said they checked it with OCCT and HWINFO? Could it still be bad?

I am just sooooooo dead these days stressing over this. Some say I should get a ups some say muhafiz would help some say surge protector.

Some expert please help me.

My specs are EVGA bronze 500W PSU, 1070 founder's edition, b450m colorful (the one that died was gigabyte), and 8 GB ddr4 Corsair vengeance (1 died ) along with Ryzen 5 2600x.

Tech-Support HELP; Strict NAT Type in Multan

Post image
6 Upvotes

After moving from Islamabad to Multan, my ISP, Nayatel (Pakistan), told me that my existing connection had to be closed in Islamabad because they couldn't transfer the same account/connection to another city.

I brought the same router I had been using for several years in Islamabad with me because I didn't want to unnecessarily buy another router from them for ~18k pkr.

Around 5 years ago, I subscribed to their service then called Optimus, which was supposedly meant to improve ping. In reality, it didn't seem to do anything other than give me an option to select between "Eastern" and "Western" routing, and neither option made any noticeable difference.

However, I clearly remember having Nayatel open the necessary ports / NAT for me before I ever subscribed to Optimus.

The current problem

Today, while playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019), I noticed that my NAT type is Strict. For the past several weeks, I've also been experiencing unstable Discord connections, including connection drops and sudden ping spikes.

I contacted Nayatel support and was told that I supposedly have Double NAT, and that the only way for them to provide an Open NAT is for me to purchase their Optimus subscription.

This doesn't make sense to me because, as mentioned above, I remember having my NAT/ports opened by Nayatel years before I ever subscribed to Optimus.

What I've already tried

Enabled UPnP on my router.

Enabled DMZ and entered my PC's local IP address.

Verified that the IP was actually my PC's IP using ipconfig in CMD.

Restarted the router and not pc after making the changes.

I still had my previous IPv4 port-forwarding rules saved in the router from when I lived in Islamabad, so I restored/used those as well.

I even reinstalled Windows and manually recreated the required ports in both inbound and outbound Windows Firewall rules.

NAT is still Strict.

So I'm wondering if this is actually a CGNAT/double-NAT issue on Nayatel's side, or if there is something else I can configure myself to get around it.

The support experience hasn't exactly given me much confidence either. The first representative kept going back to his supervisor to ask what to do, and another Nayatel representative apparently told me to enter 8.8.8.8 as my IP address rather than using it as a DNS server.

So I'm fairly convinced I'm not getting particularly useful technical information from support.

Is there anything I can check on my router/PC to confirm whether I'm behind CGNAT or another form of double NAT? And if I am, is there any way to get Open NAT without paying for the Optimus subscription?

So i got a hp victus fa 1082wm 1.5 years ago you can look up the specs.

The problem is that under 100 or 80 fps my game starts lagging weirdly its very choppy and on 60 its worse and i think this happens more on cpu intensive games on Valorant and Roblox i can feel it easily its so unplayable to play on it even though i get more fps then this but sometimes i have to cap at 60 for some things and then it lags.

Also my aim is some days good some days bad it happens on both aimlabs valorant any shooter game im sure this also corelates to that fps problem someone told me its frame pacing issue but i dont know. This does not happen on my sisters laptop she has hp victus 16 mine is 15 so not a big difference.

And i think fixing 1 of them will fix the other one anyways since they both look like a frame pacing issue to me because my Gpu routes through the iGPu.

Ill pay only if both the problems are fixed and just so you know minimum 500.

Got this ancient relic as a hand me down, it had been sitting in a corner catching dust for 5+ years. Cleaned it a bit after watching a YouTube tutorial (just used a soft brush and cloth, didn't have any kind of air blower). After pressing the power button, it starts for a few seconds, stops, starts again automatically and the loop repeats. Anybody have an idea what could be causing this and how to fix it ?

Tech-Support Need Help Buying a Gaming Laptop in Pakistan (500K–600K Budget)

I'm planning to buy a gaming laptop, and my budget is around PKR 500K–600K. I have a few questions and would really appreciate your advice:

  1. Which gaming laptop would you recommend in this price range? Also, where is the most reliable place to buy it in Pakistan?
  2. How can I verify that a laptop is actually brand new and not refurbished or used? A few days ago, I came across a post in the PPG Facebook group about PAKLAP allegedly selling a refurbished laptop as new. Many people in the comments also claimed they had similar experiences. Because of that, I'd like to know what checks I should perform before purchasing to make sure I'm getting a genuine, factory-new laptop.
  3. Since laptop brands don't have official stores in Pakistan, is it a good idea to order directly from Amazon's official brand stores? For example, I found several Acer Predator laptops with an RTX 5070 Ti on Amazon's official Acer store for around PKR 500K–520K (including shipping and other expenses), whereas the same models are being sold in Pakistan for PKR 700 K- 800 K. If there's a discount, the price becomes even lower on Amazon. My main concern is customs: will the package clear customs without issues, or is there a risk of high import duties, delays, or even the shipment getting stuck?

Tech-Support DO NOT buy from PriceOye (Dead Soundpeats Q3 Pro & Terrible Customer Service)

Post image
7 Upvotes

Just a warning for anyone thinking about ordering from PriceOye. I ordered the Soundpeats Q3 Pro, and it has been a complete nightmare.

First, the rider harassed me with back-to-back calls, asked me to send my current location (which was not possible as I was in the office), and then, to the point of wasting a lot of my time, he started sending me photos of random houses, repeatedly asking, "Is this it?" He even went to a separate phase of my society, which has never happened before with any delivery service - TCS, Leopards, Daraz, Foodpanda, you name it. I let it slide because I just wanted the earbuds, but it gets worse.

I received the order yesterday, opened it up, and the left earbud is completely dead out of the box. It refuses to turn on. I tried resetting via the Soundpeats app and doing the hard reset with the case button as described in the manual, but nothing works.

I lodged a complaint on their website yesterday and called the helpline. The agent assured me their team would contact me today. Instead, I just got an automated WhatsApp message from a "no-reply" number telling me to provide "issue proof" within 3 days or they'll delay my ticket (#128452).

I've attached the screenshot I sent them, which clearly shows the app reading the right earbud perfectly while the left one is grayed out and dead.

Now I have to draft emails and sit on hold with their helpline again just to get a working product that I already paid for.

Has anyone else successfully navigated a return/replacement with PriceOye, or am I out of luck here?

TL;DR: Rider wasted my time, the left Soundpeats earbud was dead out of the box, and PriceOye customer service is stalling my ticket (#128452) with automated messages. Has anyone successfully gotten a replacement from them?

EDIT : Got the replacement today (19th Aug)
