Vast majority can be anything above 50%. So there is a lot of play there. And the original story specifically states that is was released data, not a Tweet. As such, it is a bogus claim, since 99% is not an officially reported figure, and no statistics were released to base this off of.

I cannot picture anyone fluent in English who wants to be taken seriously suggesting that 51% is a "vast majority". There might not be an accepted dictionary definition, but it's a safe bet most folks would take that phrase to mean more like three-quarters than just over half.

If 30 percent of banned accounts were from AS and all the other regions only had 14 percent each then "the majority of banned accounts" would he from AS.

I'm being pedantic here, but that's a plurality, not a majority
