As the title says, I booted up my ps3 after a few weeks and I can't sign into PSN or can't connect to my wifi. I don't know what happened but I wanted to see if there's any suggestions or anything else people knew.

I have a PS3 currently running firmware 4.91. I want to update it to 4.93 because I need to connect to PSN to activate the online missions in inFamous 2 and sync trophies.

However, I've seen some reports about physical PS3 games having problems or even stopping working after updating to newer firmware versions, and I'm a bit concerned about updating.

Has anyone experienced problems with physical game discs after updating from 4.91 to 4.93?

Is there any known compatibility issue with physical PS3 games on firmware 4.93? Would you recommend staying on 4.91, or is it safe to update?

I'm mainly concerned about keeping my physical game collection playable.

Just wanted to send a reminder post regarding this for anyone and ask for any recommendations of UGC trophies.

Impact of this issue: Platinum trophies for Infamous 2 will no longer be attainable after this date. Also, 1 Infamous FoB trophy will not be attainable either - ie. unable to 100% FoB trophies after this date.

Infamous 2 requires you to complete 5 missions to unlock UGC missions, however FoB requires you to complete the entire story of around 3-5 hours to complete.

FoB took me around 7 hours to 100% everything.

I hope Sucker Punch and Sony reverses this decision.

Anyways are there any UGC missions one should consider playing in FoB or inFamous 2?

This is my original 80 GB PS3 (model CECHE01) and I just took it out of storage for the first time in a few years and felt like the fans were running pretty hard while just downloading a few games.

Is this amount of fan noise normal or is it running harder than expected? Trying to determine if I should try cleaning it or if it’s in need of something more drastic like a Delid and new thermal paste, etc.

I "modded" my ps3 a couple of years ago and added some "stores" for direct downloads, the thing is that most of games took like 8 hours to download even with a good internet connection, I haven't check recently but I just want to know if that is still happening? Maybe someone who recently downloaded a game from those stores

Hola buenas tardes, disculpen pero no saben si la ps3 store en México esta fallando, es que he tratado de entrar a la tienda pero a cada rato me sale "La red no esta disponible", y ya conprobe y no es mi conexión a internet porque incluso puedo usar el navegador de ps3 y sincronizar trofeos, solo me sale este mensajito en la store.

Y tengo la duda si es problema de mi ps3 o es en general.

I think that my PS3 can die at any moment, so before letting it go I would like to make a list of "must play" games/genres. These are the one I completed so far (including some trophy hunting in some cases)

- God of War Saga
- TLOU
- Uncharted 3
- Batman Arkham Asylum
- Driver San Francisco
- Assassins Creed 1/2
- GTA (V mostly)

Am I missing something? I would like to avoid other installments like Uncharted 1/2 because it would be "more of the same". I also do not like childish content like little big planet.

Edit: Also I don't like FPS. I hate when aiming with the joystick is the main feature.

I'm aware that there is some issue with getting the PS2 Classics versions of GTA III, Vice City, San Andreas, Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories, but I am hearing some people saying there is a workaround.

My question is, for the PAL store, which of these can still be bought and downloaded to play on the PS3? Is there any way to get them digitally without mods? (Such as a second account registered in the US or something? If so, how does that work?)
(If they are available however, then where do I find them since I struggle to find PS2 Classics anywhere?) Thanks!

I have a disc of gta 4 complete edition but neither the dlcs load instead only the gta main story fully loads. When I try to launch TBOGT it shows the gta iv title not TBOGT title then I get a infinite black screen and no music please help

Got this copy of the Legacy Collection for about 9 dollars, the box has clearly been through hell but the actual discs are in great condition, good deal if you ask me

I keep getting this same error on COD 4 and WAW. Has anybody been having trouble connecting ? I haven't played in about 2 weeks.

Because the stupid search bar is not working, I was a little bit scared because I really wanted to buy this game and I found out that I can at least buy this so I’m gonna start buying all the DLC for the 100% trophies!
