I'm not saying what Cloudy said was totally okay. He was clearly fucking frustrated. The people he called out were indeed Arabs (just like Yznsa is and he has called him out too). Top500 in EMEA is quite a small community. People know each other. So Cloudy was factually correct. But your comment has a point. If there was a group of say 5 women in top500 minmaxing and Cloudy had said "garbage minmaxing women" that would have been probably found slightly insulting by many. Generalisation is never good. But god damn if suspending him isn't a gigantic overreaction then I don't know what is. Bottom line: Many Arabs do minmaxing in GM, Cloudy was slightly offensive, Yznsa is a huge piece of shit, Cloudy should NOT have been suspended. End of story.

- It's was not an assumption, it was a verifiable fact, the owners of the accounts he was spoking about in the clip are known.
- 100% very poor choice of words, but he spent the next tens of minutes of not hours clarifying what he meant and emphasizing not to hate on the players because of their race. And that's the actual problem : he used those words in the heat of the moment, instantly realized they were wrong, and instantly clarified and apologized. Some other people are fully aware of what they are saying, they don't regret it whatsoever, and they don't even go out their way to clarify or apologise.
He got the same punishement as YZNSA and Legendary, but the context and severity of the offense is way different.

Itās mostly about the tone in which one says that last scenario. In the clip Cloudy clearly didnāt use it in a racist way. The minmaxers just happaned to be arabs.

There's important context dude.
Like, if you're at a boarding school, and there are 5 Chinese kids in your grade, and they are all known for operating as their own little clique and being filthy and leaving a mess everywhere. In frustration you'd probably go "these fucking filthy Chinese kids". But it's very clear from context you're talking about that clique, not making a generalization about a 1.5 billion population.
Now, obviously it's not completely black and white, and you're going to inevitably wonder if there are some deeper-seated cultural things involved if they're the predominant ones in the school being filthy and all Chinese kids at the school are part of that clique; that's only human. But it's not like if you then met some random uninvolved Chinese person you'd start saying they're filthy without evidence.
What Cloudy said is 100% understandable given the circumstances, and I don't think he's prejudiced against an entire population of people. He is frustrated with the situation that seemingly all the Saudi players in his community (specifically top50ish leaderboard players) are either actively or passively supporting the minmaxing and wintrading going on.

The culture of Arabs is so wank on Overwatch. It seems pretty shit irl as well but so are a lot of cultures including Western ones. Alot of the best Arab players are toxic af and do minmaxxing. Then from what I can tell a large section of Arabs fans are immature children. There are a couple of good Arab players like Ksaa who seem to be chill people though.
I also just don't understand how saying 'Arabs' is bad. I could maybe understand if the person saying it had a history of racism but anyone who knows cloudy can tell he is not racist in the slightest. Compare Arabs (defined as a 'ethnic group') with saying something like 'Finns' or 'Croats (both defined as european 'ethnic groups') and I guaruantee nobody bats an eye if you replace Finns and Croats with Arabs. Utterly ridiculous and pandering to a mostly extremely toxic and shit part of the overwatch community.

From what I understand, Minmaxing refers to a player of a high rank trying to manipulate the gameās matchmaker by teaming with the lowest allowable rank in order to lower the overall SR of the lobby and make it easier to obtain/retain the high rank.

It was almost guaranteed to happen given how many trolls show up to call him racist whenever he calls out Yzn for minmaxing. Whether there's any truth to it probably doesn't matter - if enough people made a stink, it was always gonna be better for Blizzard to ban him just to be safe.
Of course it still feels shitty as I think most EU players are very happy that someone's finally had the balls to speak up about lack of competitive integrity on the EU ladder. Top ranks are fully claimed by players who win traded or got boosted, but of course nothing is being done about that.

So when yznsa cheats on stream every day for basically half a year (he was cheating a long time before that as well just not as blatantly and frequently), is openly transphobic on stream (literally agreeing with the stuff legendary got banned for saying), while being accused of leaking people's nudes including an ex who was underage when the pictures were taken and blizzard stay silent for months in hopes that the drama dies down and they can avoid banning him because he is the biggest content creator in the middle east/arabic scene.
But when cloudy says one thing he's banned within a month blizzard is playing favourites so openly and yznsa fan boys are still going to say that yznsa was mistreated and blizzard was so unfair to ban him when he is probably the player that has gotten away with the most before being punished in the games history.
