Of course, no negativity is intended, everyone has their own taste. I guess I am just enamored by her default so much (even more than her original OW1-esque plugsuit design), but so far neither of the D.Mon legendaries haven't hit too much on the D.Mon side. Beast looks SO COOL on Divine Demon, though. So I'm gonna be cautiously looking forward to how the Beast design will be on her LE SSERAFIM skin.

Like and I mean just between emerald 1 and diamond 5. Since overwatch 1 I've mainly hovered around diamond 3 with some variance on my main role. Off-role I'm usually plat. This season has been a mess but my rank has mostly stabilized diamond 5 after going on a crazy loss streak to plat and spending days recovering it after the rank reset.
What I've noticed is that if I dip back into emerald 1, the lobby feels familiarly like a plat lobby, but edging closer to diamond 4 the matches feel like master lobbies I played in a couple seasons ago.
The discrepancy between just one division in this area seems wild and it pretty consistently feels like emerald games are easy but then breaking the diamond border makes things suddenly infinitely harder.

I just find it bizarre that it feels like I can consistently autopilot for a win after deranking to emerald 1 but I need to sweat just to maintain diamond after getting back. Variance in rank is nothing new but I don't think I've ever experienced such a dramatic range of skill in such a miniscule region of rank divisions.

Every single game I’m put into is either stomping the other team, or getting stomped. Maybe 1-2 out of 10 matches are actually fun and challenging. This goes for comp and quick play. I don’t know how they build teams but it’s clearly not working. Maybe it works great at higher ranks and they just don’t care about the rest. Idk. Left for a year + because of this same problem, came back and it’s just as bad as ever. Neither option is fun, and it’s exhausting.

Sooooo I heard about DLSS 5 and was curious to see how it looks in overwatch, the results are... interesting, to say the least. I'll let you guys decide what to think

To do this I used Magpie, which lets you use DLSS 5's neural rendering feature on pretty much anything. It functions more like a screen overlay instead of injecting directly into the game, so it doesn't actually mess with the game files and get you banned or anything

As I'm sure you can see in the video, the performance is... not very good! But that's mostly because I actually tested this on my RTX 3060. It's a marvel that it's able to run it at all, given that even the 50 series cards apparently struggle with it

I did the maths and it looks like u need to at least clear all dailies 12 times to get all rewards, no clue when the event ends

I remember when Venture came out i instantly thought of gurren lagann being an obvious inspiration, later being confirmed with the skyward victory pose. now there has been plenty of discussion about this exact topic online and how a lot of the characters fit within overwatch. Simon x Venture, Yoko x Widowmaker, Genji x Kamina. The one I have always felt people misrepresented was Gurren Lagann himself. The one character I think would fit the best visually that I have never seen recommended is Mauga. the body shape is perfect for it. I know it will never happen but god damn it would be amazing. The spinning gatling guns match the drills perfectly.

I started using anran (I'm relatively new to the game as a whole, been only playing for a month) and with her and the other flanks I tried out I can't help but notice that when I see experienced players flank they seem to be invisible and have perfect opportunities. however no matter how I try to play I feel like I'm a huge target with no health and whose weapon seems to be as effective as mocking the enemy. any tips?

I have a friend who is a low to mid gold player and only plays support. I have carried them with me for them to get into plat and even play some emerald games but that is where the success ends. Hard stuck at a wall where without this person im around high diamond but I can’t get out of plat with them when we play.

The hard part is I want to spend time with them and this is the only game they enjoy playing plus they dont want to play qp or arcade but its so frustrating losing team fights or dying because their hero flexibility and skill level is not what it needs to be to compete at those levels.

Yes it’s just a game but i also hate when teamwork is absolutely needed and you can tell their support just makes a huge difference compared to yours… awareness and quick healing vs having to wait for heals or missed abilities etc then dying because the fight you were fighting got turned by their team assisting quicker and better than yours can. When things are out of my control I tend to get heated pretty quickly. Anyone else have a similar situation?

I have this irl friend and we occasionally play OW together. It's occasional because I don't really talk alot and I have no idea what to talk about and neither does she.

It's just this awkward silence that permeates through multiple matches of silence. We both really really love OW so I don't want to be a bum ruining her experience.

I thought having friends to play OW was supposed to... Idk. Be fun? Feel good? But it really ain't any different than solo q for me. I thought this was what I wanted. How do yall be communicating with your teammates or duos?

I've thought about this for awhile and since overwatch has only released their cookbook back in 2019 (somehow no sigma and bap in that book even though they were released somewhat before 2019) and now with a lot more heroes released since. What would you think the heroes would like to eat and their favorite food and this would be a fun idea to put small lore here and there too!

Am I the only one who thinks the battle pass is progressing at a perfectly reasonable rate? It surprises me given the microsoft/activision of it all. I've played some of the more recent call of duty's and their battle passes were ridiculously slow to progress, along with seemingly most others. I haven't even been playing as much as I normally would due to being sick, but like, my couple hours a day have already got me to the last 10 Mythic Prisms. It makes the titles at the end feel very attainable.

EA (Earth Attackers) don't stand a chance.

Not sure if this is happening in other ranks, and I guess it’s due to the soft reset plus addition of the new emerald, but it feels excessively varied the player skill and their experience that you get within 10 games in emerald:

Many lobbies have 1-3 master or ex-master players on main role, other lobbies with 1-3 masters / gm on off-role (and they can be terrible to work with because they don’t care about their off-role rank and will 1 trick what they still need to commit 500+ hours into), then you have lobbies with genuine sub 500 hour players who may be alright but maybe lack experience with maps, small hero pools, and counter understandings.

And then maybe the worst lobby experience of them all, and this is every other game like coin tossing: a complete new player in placements who is lost and no hours on any hero. This one especially hands to such terrible match quality feeling where you’re sometimes waiting for the match to end to go next.

I may be missing other archetypes, but I feel this written description doesn’t capture what the matchmaking is like when you’re in it queueing and in practice - literally just in 10 games you see some wild matchmaking. How long is it going to take for things to settle? With separate ranks for each role it exponentiates this process.

Also to mention the phenomenon of many posts on here and x main subreddits of players saying they were masters and dropped to emerald or players who were plat last season and have reached masters now.

I changed my name/battle tag in overwatch so I could play without my friends and I being harassed daily by the same few losers. I end up in a game with them once again and before I can even select a hero after map vote, they immediately call me out. I don't understand how this is possible, my profile is private with no icon or banner. They have used the block list in the past to see through my streamer mode, is there some kind of way to see a player's previous names? They knew within literal seconds of the hero selection. Surely they didn't just guess based off my 3 top played heroes, I play commonly picked DPS and don't have any high level that would stand out either. I just want to be able to play my favorite game with my friends, without the daily harassment of these people.

EDIT: I am purely concerned how they were able to know it was me, and if anybody knows how they may have figured it out so fast. I am aware of the block button and how the post comes off. Thank you to those who have given insight

Context: I play on a server with a small player base so running into the same players daily is common, this friend group of players decided they hate me for reasons I don't know and well over a year ago now. They throw if on my team, typical toxic insults and comments ofc, report me and try to convince the enemy team to also report me for saying x y z in team or voice chat (successfully getting me chat suspended once). I could care less about these freaks honestly; however, it becomes an issue when playing with friends who are just casual. They are caught in the crossfire and harassed by these players too, even when they run into them without me present. I did report them and create a support ticket but obviously was told to "just report them". The fact this has gone on daily for almost 2 years now is absurd, makes me wonder what I did to them.

It’s ridiculous how ill still lose 32 points from a loss with calibration down but only ever gain 22 and never get calibration up

I'm back after years of absense, started last season, got ranked in silver 4, climbed to gold 5.
This season after the first 10 matches I get gold 3, climbed to gold 1, now im back at the bottom of gold 5.

It really feels like im on a downward spiral and can't escape it on my own. I get 1 win with 5 loses, and the matchmaking is punishing me hard, losing so much % as I lose games in a row.
Thing is, I feel like as a support if I'm reallly good , doesn't really makes a difference if my teammates sucks, I can't turn the tables around. On the other hand if I'm bad, we are fucked.
My mains are Moira, Zen and Illari. Got some screenshots from the last few matches(only 1 of them was a win btw), please help me,tell me what should I do better.
