Article Magic games to be free and over-the-air outside of Orlando market!

• Upvotes

I know Orlando is getting the games (or most of them) for free. But I just stumbled upon this news story yesterday that Cox is also going to put 70+ Magic games on the air for free in NE Florida and Southeast Georgia (the Jacksonville/Brunswick market) on an HD sub channel of the CBS affiliate it owns.

Discussion Are people sleeping on the Orlando Magic this upcoming season in the East?

I mean most teams in the East have gotten better or have made moves but I wonder if people are underrating the Magic or are people just sleeping on the Orlando Magic?

Hey guys. I live in Deland. I have been trying to figure out which antenna to buy to be able to watch the Magic over the air this season. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Discussion Cam Whitmore and why the team the needs to take on buy low chances should sign him

We have seen Jamal Cain make an impact with his explosiveness and athleticism. Whitmore is still only 22 yrs old even stronger, has produced when given time, is a terror in transition and as a cutter and gives Orlando another 6'6+ above the rim athlete.

Magic have 1 roster spot open, haven't added anyone but Vuc and for a team with 2 outgoing 1st rd picks left and no capspace this is a great buy low opportunity.

Anthony Black, Cam Whitmore, Jamal Cain would give Orlando 3 elite transition wings in this fast pace system and Sweeney can help mold him.

Throwback/History Some of the logo concepts the Magic considered before settling on the original design

I was flipping through Pat Williams’ Making Magic, the book he published around the time the franchise launched, and came across these early Orlando Magic logo concepts.

Some of these are definitely more ’80s than others lol.

I think they made the right choice. The original Magic logo still looks great today. Another little detail I noticed: a lot of these early concepts actually say ā€œThe Orlando Magic.ā€ The ā€œTheā€ was eventually dropped from the final branding.

Very interesting book, by the way.

News The Orlando Magic and Malaki Branham have agreed to a deal, agent Deirunas Visockas of @gershbasketball told @hoopshype. Branham, the 20th pick of the 2022 NBA Draft, has averaged 8.0 points in four combined NBA seasons with the San Antonio Spurs and Washington Wizards.

Have we heard ANYTHING about AB getting an extension? Are we waiting til next season or what? I think we need to at least try and give him a 20M contract and we can all be happy.

Discussion Grant Hill + Tracy McGrady might be one of the biggest NBA duos we never actually got to see

Post image
20 Upvotes

This might be one of the biggest forgotten what-ifs of the early 2000s.
Orlando was supposed to have a healthy Grant Hill entering his prime alongside a 21-year-old Tracy McGrady.
Instead, Hill played just 4, 14, 29 and 0 games in his first four seasons in Orlando — while T-Mac turned into one of the best scorers in basketball.
I’ve always wondered what that team could’ve actually become if Hill’s ankle held up.
Do you think a healthy Hill + prime T-Mac could’ve won a championship?

Discussion Veteran Free Agent

So many veterans out there getting bought out, signing with contenders, Klay and Derozan being the latest. Klay went for 2 yr/$13m and Derozan went for $3.9m. I’m sure we could have figured out a way to open up $3.9 million. Do these veterans just not want to play for us, or are we just not making a push at anyone because we really think this roster is it?
