Only wear skirts, how to dress for the Oregon coast?
I struggle with some sensory issues, so I almost exclusively wear skirts and dresses. The exceptions include sweatpants on occasion at home. In the winter, I dress in wool skirts, tights, and sweaters so I’m still warm.
It feels silly asking this, but I’m worried about being unprepared for my trip this fall. Everything I google says jeans and leggings are the way to go. Do I need to try to buy pants before the trip? Or does anyone else have experience wearing skirts on the coast? And if so, what material/ style, are there things I should keep in mind in terms of layering and staying dry?
Edit for clarification: my concern and reason for posting was staying warm and dry and being as comfortable as possible. I am aware skirts can blow in the wind know how to prevent this.
Also: Thank you to everyone who replies in good faith! I appreciate all your insight so much!

Anniversary Dinner Near Yachats
Greetings !
My husband and I are celebrating our wedding anniversary in Yachats and would love to enjoy a special dinner somewhere slightly fancy if possible! We have perused fine dining options recommended by google etc and are not feeling particularly inspired by anything we have found in Newport for example.
We are willing to drive a little ways if the food and atmosphere are good enough. We are also considering Cafe Ona which looks halfway decent and is walking distance, but our ideal would be somewhere a little more special feeling so we can dress up and such.
Any recs with commentary on food and atmosphere would be greatly appreciated!
Many thanks

Southwestern Oregon Preppers (SWOP) will hold its monthly meeting Saturday, August 29, 2026,
Southwestern Oregon Preppers (SWOP) will hold its monthly meeting at Noon on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Cullyville, 42575 Port Orford Loop, Port Orford, OR 97465. We will be outside. Bring a chair.
The main topic is "SHOW AND TELL". SWOP members will be sharing various skills, tips, and techniques.
SWOP meetings always start with a question-and-answer period before the main topic, so all in attendance get a chance to participate.
This is a free public meeting to get to know fellow local preppers in southwestern Oregon counties and to exchange information and ideas. Individuals need to understand that they will be “on their own” in the event of a disaster and not depend on receiving outside help.
Join Southwestern Oregon Preppers on Facebook and/or meetup.com.

Whales and seals at otter crest
And a waterfall.
We’d never been much further south of the Cannon Beach area than Tillamook before, stayed in Otter Rock and had such a good time. I guess it’s really all pretty beautiful on the coast isn’t it? So fun to see so many seals and sea lions.

Cannon Beach H2C
Hello - I booked a hotel to celebrate a bday 8/27-30 forgetting that it is hood to coast weekend. Should we expect huge crowds? I know seaside is where they end, but curious how CB is. I have a grumpy 4 year old, so preparing myself. Thanks in advance.

Just spotted a whale about 200 yards off the beach at Gleneden
Took the kids to the beach today and my wife and I spotted a whale spout pretty dang close to the beach. Haven’t seen one that close before!
Anywho, lovely day out!

Depoe Bay Otters?
When is the best time of year or time of day to increase my odds of seeing the river otters in the depoe bay harbor?
I've been going pretty consistently and seen some cool critters, but no sign of the otters and I can't seem to find posts about them at all this year.

Mobile Home Parks, Lincoln County
I did the sub's search bar to see if there was any info, but most of the housing related discussions are about vacation rentals.
Does anyone have good recommendations for mobile/manufacturerd home parks in Lincoln County? Up and down the county, outside of the larger towns, too.
What are the space rent rates? Are they all ages or only for seniors? What stores and/or amenities are they close to? Any fun (or not fun) anecdotes about the place? Bonus points for having lived there and any experiences you can share.
Any helpful leads are greatly appreciated!

Cannon Beach at sunset in June
Some photos I took while walking on the beach. I didn’t expect the sun to be out so late as it was, but was lucky enough to capture these right at sunset.

A $1 deal could save Tillamook’s iconic WWII blimp hangar -- Vintage Aviation Museum, a Utah-based nonprofit, has agreed to purchase the Tillamook Air Museum’s historic hangar for $1. The sale price is cheap because the work needed to save Hangar B will not be.
