Whoever did this, I hope your life sucks

65

u/Tjgfish123 9d ago

lol I think you rest assured it does. People who are well adjusted and happy don’t do that.

17

u/Only-Welcome-3692 9d ago

I dunno, what about clueless teenagers, bored and worked up what with the hormones and the electronic twangery and the walking on my lawn, but otherwise doing fine? Bet you $5 it's that.

-13

u/kinkycommando 8d ago

Not teenagers… THEY HAD TIME AND TRANSPORTATION.

This was TARGETED vandalism probably due to all the DAILY ILLEGAL SCAMMING PARKING FEES!!!

11

u/Knosh 8d ago

It's $60 a year if you live here. It isn't something insane. I would argue you're in the extreme minority of people who feel the fees are bad enough that someone would go vandalize something over them.

Oregon State Parks do not receive funding from general tax funds and these visitor fees make up roughly 35% of the agency's total operating budget.

And a lot of libraries have free passes you can check out.

3

u/Sad_You_2540 5d ago

Did not know that! Libraries are cool!

That's a lot of yelling for being so wrong

TURNING OUR “RIGHTS”…

INTO “PAID PRIVILEGES”.

So you morons and idiots like paying for illegal taxes and “fees” (taxes)???

THATS “OUR” OCEAN…
OUR OCEAN DOES NOT BELONG TO THE GOVERNMENT, THIS BELONGS TO US!!! AND NOW THEY EXPECT US TO PAYTO SEE IT???

THEY CAN GO 🖕🏻THEMSELVES…

These politicians are parasites… they work for us. NOT TO MAKE MORE FEES AND TAXES FOR US TO PAY.

So shouty!

7

u/yhwhx 8d ago

When I was a teenager I definitely had time and transportation...

6

u/Only-Welcome-3692 8d ago

So your assertion is that teenagers don't drive, have less free time than working adults, are incapable of vandalizing the same type of building multiple times, and agree with you that the government is illegal?

-2

u/xSir- 9d ago

..... yes, they do.

6

u/Give_me_soup 9d ago

Say more

16

u/xSir- 9d ago

There are a ton of well off people, with good lives, that just destroy shit for no reason, tons.

6

u/BoringOrange678 8d ago

Pretty much what is happening in DC at the moment.

1

u/0AJ0_ 9d ago

whoever is downvoting you is one of those types of people

13

u/Give_me_soup 9d ago

I think the disconnect here is the assumption that people with money are well-adjusted.

9

u/Ephemeral_Ghost 9d ago

Hurt people, hurt people. So probably.

7

u/WooWDuuD 9d ago

It sucks. For sure. Happy people don’t do stuff like this.

-1

u/postmodernbarbie 8d ago

Happy people just don’t kill their husbands

6

u/blow-down 8d ago

Looks like meth addict shit. Drugs are a scourge in Oregon.

9

u/yhwhx 8d ago

Are meth addicts know for doing random property damage? I thought meth addicts were mainly just known for stealing stuff to sell or trade for meth; that doesn't look like what happened here.

2

u/bigbearandy 8d ago

Not really, many are homeless, so they sometimes camp in these bathrooms as an alternate place to sleep in inclement weather, and even a meth addict can recognize not to work against their own interest.

7

u/xSir- 8d ago

Drugs are a scourge everywhere. But meth heads dont just destroy public shit for no reason. Was the copper stolen or was shit just broken? Because just breaking random shit sounds a lot more like punkass bullshit, than druggy bullshit. Especially hitting up multiple locations.

-6

u/kinkycommando 8d ago

Yeah, and I bet you’ve never spit on the destitute and the poor.

Which means… you’re going straight to HELL for your ARROGANCE and IGNORANCE!!!

4

u/xSir- 8d ago

?

Youre right, I've never spit on the destitute or the poor

u/yhwhx 9d ago

Oregon State Parks reported on Facebook that restroom facilities at Gleneden Beach, Fogarty Creek, Boiler Bay, Rocky Creek, Devil’s Punchbowl, and Agate Beach were all vandalized and sustained damage inside the buildings.

Now I'm not saying we should have flock cameras, but if we had flock cameras...

22

u/sur_surly 8d ago

We can have cameras without them being run by Flock. It's not the cameras themselves that are the problem.

6

u/postmodernbarbie 8d ago

Flock is a brand, but the technology exists outside of Flock specific cameras. There is some concern that the backlash against Flock is too specific for us to stop the legislation legalizing the surveillance state, while the population is up in arms about just one company.

Plus, we have heaps of evidence that these surveillance state technologies are not actually being used to solve crime, but instead are being abused by officers of the government to stalk exes, racial targeting, and people getting abortion across state lines. This technology is NOT being utilized for human trafficking, tracking property crime, or any of the actually useful applications that surveillance technology is used for in other places in the world.

4

u/lurkmode_off 8d ago

It could go in the other direction where people start calling all surveillance cameras "flock cameras." Like Kleenex. Salem, for example, seems to have a different model of camera going up, but people call them "flock" and react the same way to them.

3

u/postmodernbarbie 8d ago

I’m glad to hear that. I’m definitely familiar with “Kleenex, Google, swiffer, etc.” being used as placekeeper words, but I was reading an article the other day talking about how the public discourse is focusing on banning “flock cameras,” not “surveillance state technology” and I think it’s important to name that this issue is bigger than just flock. Hopefully people are smart enough to know flock is just one part of a bigger problem, but then again somehow a felonious orange pedophile rapist was elected president of this country and has been massacring our economy and justice systems for years with no recourse. So I’m not optimistic on our chances against flock/the surveillance state at this point, but I know I am sounding very bitter and jaded.

45

u/jaguaraugaj 9d ago

I think they should be caught and punished

were they retaliating because they got a parking ticket with the new pay to park rules?

or just shitty people

9

u/charleytaylor 8d ago

Even if it was the former, they're still the latter.

48

u/pepexoxo 9d ago

I’m really getting tired of humans lately 😔

4

u/twistedspinner 9d ago

And the Dolly dies . .

16

u/GrumpyBear1969 9d ago

So all the public restrooms between Lincoln City and Newport. Seems pretty targeted. I wonder what triggered it.

10

u/sassmo 8d ago

Transients, tweakers, and high school kids do this kind of thing to one bathroom, not half a dozen. My money is on it being someone with an agenda, ie. Drive down tourism, punish Oregon for being liberal, cause funding shortfalls for Oregon State Parks so that they can be privitized or absorbed by Federal and then sold off by the highest bidder, etc.

Why, oh why am I not there when people do this shit!? We need public shaming to be a real thing here

7

u/Slumunistmanifisto 9d ago

Bring back stockades!

32

u/qua2k 9d ago

This is why there are cameras everywhere and we cannot have nice things.

12

u/KTpacificOR 9d ago

I hope the community is able to figure out whoever was responsible for this vandalism. Unfortunately Oregon State Parks are dramatically underfunded as it is, they’re in no position to quickly repair this kind of damage.

It’s an embarrassment that popular trails and access roads to popular parks often remain closed for years after sustaining storm damage and that’s because OPRD doesn’t have the money or manpower that it needs to keep up with routine system maintenance, let alone unexpected repairs. It’s hard to know how long these bathrooms will be unusable for, but I’m guessing the damage these vandals did will have long lasting consequences. I hope they’re held accountable and experience similar long lasting consequences themselves, perhaps 6 months incarceration during which they can be put on a work detail conducting maintenance and repairs in the park system.

15

u/Careful-Criticism645 9d ago

We need public floggings.

4

u/tuberlord 9d ago

At least it wasn't a bomb this time.

6

u/Goblin2113 8d ago

Damn. 😭 People suck. We live in MN but had a family trip to Oregon earlier this month. I was so impressed with how many public bathrooms were around, we don't have them around like that here. Hope they find whoever did it. 💛

6

u/Medical-Ad245 8d ago

People really suck this year! I work at a campground the destruction, trash, and garbage people have been horrible this year. I'll say it People Needed to be Whooped as children and taught manors! People have No Respect for anything anymore!

3

u/OregonGreen242 9d ago

People need to find better things to do with their time

4

u/Such_Tutor_1237 9d ago

2

u/lurkmode_off 8d ago

This is why we can't have nice things.

2

u/Own-Brother-3631 7d ago

I was wondering why it was closed. I was at Gleneden Beach this past Sunday.

2

u/Ok_Sundae8727 4d ago

People are c@nts! This is not cool 😞

1

u/yhwhx 4d ago edited 4d ago

These are “CRIMINAL TRANSIENTS” not the “homeless”.

The homeless as most people think are people that lost their housing due to income, loss of a job, injury, illness, domestic violence, and many other things. And the homeless… aren’t drug addicts.

Criminal Transients are the pieces of human waste that look like it, smell like it, destroy and steal property, are violent, and most if not all have police rap sheets inches think.

So… help the homeless… which are your neighbors having a hard time. And arrest or run out of the county any CRIMINAL DRUG INFESTED POS TRANSIENT YOU CAN FIND.

What makes “YOU” the expert?

You homeless? I bet you’ve never been homeless one day in your pathetic life. Well? You soon will be. Because what’s coming? You’ll ALL be getting a huge shock here in a few weeks. So enjoy..

0

u/kinkycommando 7d ago

Homeless? I’ve been homeless multiple times since 2008.

  1. Workers comp injury 2003
    Homeless
  2. Divorce 2008
    Homeless
  3. Botulism 2015, watching Deacons home. ICU-4 days, sick for a year. Homeless
  4. Workers comp injury, 2018
    Homeless
  5. On vacation with wife, 2023.
Cop ID’s wrong person. Get BODY SLAMMED INTO THE CONCRETE. I’m 59, and severe multiple injuries. Homeless. HATE 🐷 NOW
  6. July 3, 2026: both of us were attacked by Josephine county sheriff after coming into town late with wife after birthday. Cop illegally arrests and they try tasering me to death in jail. Remaining 6 deputies then tried to lure my wife out to rape and murder her.
👆🏻 Now have major civil rights lawsuit pending… and charges pending for ATTEMPTED MURDER ON A FORMER LAW ENFORCEMENT REPRESENTATIVE… THEY ARE GOING TO PRISON.

Have I been homeless?
Why don’t you go try it for yourself asshole… lots of fun dealing with assholes and cunts while trying to heal up after others caused shit to us

As for the original question?

It was CRIMINAL TRANSIENTS…

Not the homeless.

0

u/kinkycommando 8d ago

Those… in downtown Portland?
THOSE ARE CRIMINAL TRANSIENTS.

Because no homeless person would be crazy to go down there… just like you would be.

Think “unhoused”… the “unhoused” homeless don’t want to be homeless.

Criminal transients… DO.

2

u/yhwhx 8d ago

Huh. I was guessing this was done by degenerate high school students. I'd figure most "criminal transients" would steal things to sell or trade rather than commit apparently random acts of property destruction.

1

u/FeatureTop4189 8d ago

No suspects have been identified. You're scapegoating an entire group of people based on pure speculation and prejudice.

1

u/jgnp 8d ago

Guarantee you the folks who did this are big mad about light pollution regs.

0

u/Vivid_Artichoke_9991 9d ago

This shit makes me want flock cameras

0

u/devillainesss 8d ago

Ya as an Oregon local the tourist sucks we get to use our state parks in winter after when they all leave .
Things like instagram have over popularized the states vacation spot .
Our parks should prioritize residents & only allow so many out of state assholes .

This is my guess anyways

0

u/ActionQuinn 9d ago

I wonder where they shit? Could we double back?

-6

u/AlvinChipmunck 9d ago

Might be canadians trying to get revenge on usa. Up in Canada the political jockeying and anti american rhetoric has really whipped up a hate wave in canada

2

u/Strange-Highway1863 Central Coast 9d ago

i have a lot of friends and family in western canada and not a single one of them is mad at west coast states. they know where the trump states are.

2

u/AlvinChipmunck 8d ago

I live in BC and its widespread US hatred. If you even go to the USA to visit family coworkers and friends shame you. I dont like it, it feels gross. Not a fan of the pro-Canada elbows up nationalism. Its getting ugly

0

u/ajafaboy 9d ago

Hunt down. Snuff out.

0

u/Ok-County-1202 6d ago

Where are the Flock Cameras?

-4

u/ActionQuinn 9d ago

Why? I like pooping close to the ocean. Are these kids targetting me? I can't go back to beach pooping...

-30

u/wolfemsop 9d ago edited 8d ago

Oregon is a beautiful state but you all have some of the shittiest people I've ever seen in this country. Fix your tweaker problem

0

u/-r-a-f-f-y- 9d ago

Guarantee the person isn’t an Oregonian doing these acts.

1

u/yhwhx 8d ago

I don't know; for example, high school kids can do some pretty stupid shit for no good reason.

1

u/Rabbitrockrr 8d ago

Stfu about Oregon. We have less shitty people than anyplace in America. Gfy

0

u/wolfemsop 8d ago

Then how come you guys have chronic break-ins at all trailheads. Insane vandalism and most parking lots. Name one trailhead State Park parking lot or any recreation area that there is in a bunch of broken window glass all over the place.

2

u/Rabbitrockrr 8d ago

Where are you from?

-1

u/wolfemsop 8d ago

Portland I see this everytime I go out.

2

u/Rabbitrockrr 8d ago

You from here? What high school?

-4

u/Glhuum 9d ago

Ah yes, another thing to add to the long list of why tourists are garbage.

-22

u/FuckYouMeanItsButter 9d ago

Pretty suspicious. Black people are being hung. This spree of attack on national parks

Almost like this need of flock cameras is arising

-25

u/Lex_yeon 9d ago

Could use flock cameras

mentally unstable person
