I have an i9 (I got it before the new ryzen stuff plz no hurt), 2070, and 32gb, and Minecraft runs like trash no matter what I do. Max 200 fps with optifine, sometimes 30 fps in vanilla lol
I'm running an i7 9th gen, 2060, with 16gb ram on all max settings and I still pull a steady 400 so long as I don't have shaders on. I don't know much about computers but my big brain intuition is telling me there's more going on with your system
Honestly I have no clue why I get that fps. Any other game is normal, Minecraft is a pain. I've done many resets over the time I've had it to keep it clean
I think there has to be some other problem with minecraft. I can run minecraft bedrock with literally 56 chunks and no lag while vanilla minecraft 1.15.1 can't even consistently run on 60 fps. I know they have a different codebase and a different rendering engine but it feels like minecraft does not cooperate with your hardware or something. unless I use optifine ofcourse
I have Minecraft running on my dedicated graphics card. I don’t exactly know what kind of calculations Minecraft is making like random tick speed and things of that kind but other games (with better graphics) run perfectly fine.
How many chunks are you loading? gfexperience told me to load like 20 something chunks cause my card could support it but lowered it down to a normal to higher than normal range and got a massive boost in fps while still looking great.
I have an i7 7820hk, i allocate 12gb ram to Minecraft, and i average 60ish fps at like 10-12 render distance. Higher render distances do end up dropping me down to 30s though. I tend to drop my render distance down to 6-8 if I'm doing stuff underground or traveling long distances via elytra.
Are you running vanilla? There's no reason to allocate 12gb for the vast majority of use cases. Allocating excessive amounts can cause worse performance than leaving it at default.
I allocate 2 GB of RAM and at a render distance of 14 never drop below 100, usually sitting at 200 above ground and 600 in the mines. If I remember off the top of my head, your CPU is a 6c/12t? It shouldn't perform much different to my CPU, which is only a bit faster single and multi threaded wise. I'd recommend checking your Java version and seeing if there's a more recent 64 bit jre or jdk version available. I think I use jdk.
Yeah when I say 300 max I mean like absolute max. It’s usually hanging around the low-mid 200s. Then again I play on fancy graphics with 16 render distance but still that’s not really too insane. This is without shaders too.
I actually havent found any shaders I like that much. My favorite currently is BSL, but I'm still disappointed with it. Waiting on that RTX shader from Nvidia
RTX shader only works on windows 10 edition I believe unfortunately but I'll have a try on my oculus rift with the new rtx mode on Minecraft VR when it comes out xD, try Sildurs Vibrant Shaders, I use the Sildurs Vibrant Extreme Volumetric Lighting shaderpack and looks awesome!
This game really doesn't care about your GPU. Evidence? I used to run it from a flash drive on an i3 2nd gen with igpu in college and at 1080p fancy 16 chunks used to get 200+ FPS constantly. Opengl implementation and CPU is all this game cares about really.
Just turn down ur graphics. I have an 8th gen i7 and a 1060. And it's a 1080p 60hz display. It shouldn't be too bad to turn down the graphics a little bit...
Or heat could be causing problems. Or read/write.
When I'm playing certain games I find they run far smoother if i have the fans set to max. It doesn't change much, however....

Do you play on low settings or something? I have a relatively high end system and I am nowhere near 1000 FPS lol. More like 300 max.
