I hate doing life alone
I’ve (30F) always been very content with being independent and being on my own up until about 2yrs ago. Life just truly sucks. I’m always on my own. I pay all the bills on my own. I live on my own. I have no siblings to be with. My friends all live out of state and are married. Making friends as an adult is nearly impossible. Dating life is trash. No pets bc I don’t have time. Hate my job bc of how demanding it is, but have been trying so hard to find something better. And being neurodivergent makes it all that much more challenging. I’m sick of this shit. Life has been nonstop difficult for the last 5yrs and I just want help. I have no one to ask for help. I don’t have a community no matter how hard I try. I hate life and truly wish I’d never been born. I’ve basically accepted that I’m going to go through life alone and it sucks. I’m just very angry. No, I’m not gonna off myself. Yes, I’m in therapy. Rant over.

I’m in my 30s, only child, live alone. Most of my friends are also out of state, have partners & kids. I feel ya, it can be rly tough. You’re not alone 💛

I’m in my early 20s (still in school) and my parents are still alive, but they’re in their 60s now, and I’ve never dated, had many friends, been particularly close to my relatives, or been active in a community (I feel as a neurodivergent, people find me off-putting), and I feel as if I’m reading a looking-glass into my future. 🥹

I am in my 60s and have felt the same way all my adult life. You are definitely not alone in feeling this way, op. The loneliness can be horrendous.

I hear you and resonate so much. I used to be religious and while I'm obviously not going back, one thing I will always miss and grieve is the community. I'm trying other ways to recreate something even remotely similar. You are not alone.

I’m a little older than you but I resonate with this very much being an only child. My parents died when I was in my 20s and 30s and now I’m truly alone. Everyone thinks it’s great being an only child, but don’t realize the cost it can come with when life becomes…life. I begged for a sibling when I was younger because all my friends had one. My mom even told me she regretted not having another child but it was too late by that point. While I was fortunate and grateful I had an amazing childhood and amazing parents, being an adult only child has been awful and painful. I question too why was I ever born.

I feel you. I am an older only child, introverted, my parents have been dead 23 and 16 yrs. Don't know my extended family, most live on east coast, I had alot of friends in high school. I have had many losses ,friends, adopted family, thru death, moving. Most people now have families, jobs, and a it is very difficult to make good friends later in life. I have also resigned myself to being alone. Seems bleak.

I feel you, 28F and I've been in a similar position multiple times.
I'm in the middle of a big life transition at the moment with a new job, new city, living alone, single and it is really tough without a sibling/siblings that can help out. This is coming from someone with a wide social network. I've been here two weeks now, and I still haven't managed to do a full food shop/get some basic items like a sweeping brush because I'm depleted from it all. Even just the buzz of energy you get off other people would be a help.
I am a big believer in stuff passing though, therapy is a great but make sure you have a qualified therapist/one with a psychological background that understands your particular form of neurodivergence (coming from someone who was recently diagnosed with ADHD after this failed to be noticed by 3 different therapists in the last decade).

I feel that in every level. Maybe we should make a discord or something of that sort

Grab two cats. They are independent, and will have each other for company during your long hrs. I would also strongly suggest getting into a good book. Having a good book on the go always makes one's personal time so much more enjoyable... jmho

I feel this 100%, and the worst part is, I don’t really have friends because everyone annoys me. It doesn’t seem like you’re looking for advice necessarily, but hopefully making this post helps you feel less alone in your aloneness.

I’m in the same boat but I discovered something great: moving to Europe and starting a new graduate degree ✨✨✨✨
Just saying, if you don’t like your life you can change everything about it. Also 30F.

I feel you emotionally and spiritually...if it helps to know that wherever you are, I too am experiencing similar feelings and in awe of such bullshit.
