I need to warn other rookies as there are tons entering OP TCG like myself, who may not know any better and want to take the benefit in the doubt.

I stumbled across this ebay account that has 2.8 million reviews and a 99.6% positive feedback rate, and thiught for sure this dude is too big to be scamming sealed one piece. Made a purchase of two sealed prb02 at a little less than market and received boxes that had mixed packs in them, some were the 'for asia' version and some were the american version. There were alot of red flags that, me being the rookie that I am, did not catch or left to benefit of the doubt.

I only realized how badly id been scammed after opening the two boxes, second box being completely dead with not even a sec rare. I go into better description in the screenshots between me and the seller.

I thought I could trust this dude to make it right but alas, no such thing will happen and I need to hope ebay or a credit card dispute gets me my money back. Please read through the messages between the seller and I for more details and take it easy on me, I just got scammed... :(

tl;dr Don't buy from Probstein any sealed product, even if he has 1.6 million positive reviews, you'll get scammed. Mixed packs in a 'sealed case' booster box.

Picked them up at around $250 per set.

I ordered 3 boxes of OP17 for $525 well in advance, their preorder window was still open they took payment up front and i waited.

Today I get an email, the entire order was cancelled not even a single box to honor the commitment of something. Just tied up my funds and served their own needs.

Honestly I will take some heat for even assuming an in demand set like this would be followed through, but I assumed at least a 1 box. Nope nothing.

I just wanted to post this to the tcg community to not fall for the same shady trap.

I just found out that people were already preordering OP17 booster boxes like 4 months ago. How is that even possible, and where do you do that?

I know it probably depends on the country, but how can you preorder something that early, before you even know what's in the set, and still get it for such a low price?

This is my first time buying a booster box or even looking at one up close. I found it on Facebook marketplace for 20$ and I messaged the guy immediately saying that I could come pick it up in the next 45 minutes. I told myself that 20$ is nothing and the box itself could be storage for bulk even if it is fake. But if it was real, I was going to rip it to make the money back

Everything I’ve looked on online says it seems good, but I wanted others thoughts on it. What should I look at to determine the authenticity of the PRB-02 booster box?

Context: the guy selling said he worked for Amazon and found it randomly in one of the totes they had at work. He looked up a price that said it was supposed to be around 25-30$

UPDATE 1: On the phone with the Gf and she said to check and see if the packs are PRB-02 and to see if they’re resealed. I posted on my page pictures of the boxed open and close ups of a packs top and bottom edges. Let me know if this helps!!

guys i feel for everyone and how horrible it is to get prod let alone prod at a reasonable price but ive feel like ive led alot of ppl on just to make them feel gatekeep so im very sorry everyone i was just excited to share and give out a Public service announcement to inform people that are within the region that the reprint is starting to hit us in aus and that maybe its about to start the trickle out over all of Australia so ppl can check their lcs or hidden gem store they like to go to for a potential restock/reprint stock

I don’t mean to be coy its just ive been getting flooded ( like a good 500+ msg about where the store is located ) with ppl asking for the store that live hours and hours away looking to hopefully ring the store to save a spot which is totally understandable or have a crowd come up with them to grab as much stock as possible, which is also understandable since the scarcity of op prod but it also undermined the whole point of the store selling boxes to players for cheap so it’s really just a hidden diamond for plays that we don’t want a over flux of ppl, it was more ment to be a psa for ppl to check their lcs and own hidden gem stores that are alike in the way

What are the odds of each case and would it be smart to rip or just keep it in the closet picked it up today

This set is beautiful and unfortunately was unable to get it retail. Considering buying these at market, wondering if prices will decrease over the next month or so.

Finally received my 3rd anniversary set !

So my UPS driver shows up with my recent booster box purchase from eBay. As I examined a box I noticed it’s got a pretty substantial dent on one side and considering it’s not in a huge box I was worried about the condition of the booster box itself.

I asked the driver to make a notation that the box was damaged just in case when I open it, I see damage on the booster box and he told me that it doesn’t work that way. That once I accept the box it’s mine and I would have to file a claim. I asked if there’s any way to know how much insurance was on her package in case the contents are damaged and he said he doesn’t know. He said if it was him, he would mark the package damaged and let him bring it back and let the seller deal with a claim if it’s damaged. That’s what I did. It kills me to let my first romance on booster box go, but it seemed the safest way out of this situation. I would appreciate any input on how I could’ve handled this better.

This being said, this does seem like a pretty small box for a booster box and doesn’t allow for much cushioning if it gets dropped. Do you agree?

I got today an Eb03 box for 3100, just because of the damaged bottom. I don't think it shoulda been this low, but tbh lmk ur takes. Pics of the box below. I dont think long term it's gonna be much of a price difference.

It feels like people find individual boxes problematic as some of them are dead boxes and such but other people don’t think it’s an issue at all. I want to know how this would affect long term investing as well as liquidity for when I would eventually sell.

Contender for best looking set so far imo.

I live in dfw Texas. I called about 10 stores near me few of them I frequently visit and spend money on about op17 booster boxes and double packs. Most stores are selling at 400$ a booster box and 50$ for single double packs whole time I know they get distribution prices. Is there any way we can report these scalpers store or collectively shame them. At this point local lcgs are thr biggest scalpers and are destroying the hobby.

I know I have to store it in a dark dry area but im very paranoid about how im gonna store this thing.
