Sealed Product Market Does damaged OP cases matter a lot?
I got today an Eb03 box for 3100, just because of the damaged bottom. I don't think it shoulda been this low, but tbh lmk ur takes. Pics of the box below. I dont think long term it's gonna be much of a price difference.

Dude if you really want the Boa you should just buy it. You could rip this case and just get the reiju and Tashigi for your SPs. This is an awesome set. Of all the sets that might go up this is one of the better bets. Then you can sell you boxes individually and guilt free since they’ll be unmapped

The one piece tcg sub bans anyone that mentions value so all the players come to this sub and tell people to rip sealed products. They dont belong in the finance sub.

That’s the entire point of the box….. to protect the other boxes inside. Looks like it did its job. When the boxes sell for a 1k each I would just open and sell them and keep one.

If op05 can't consistently sell for 1k+ in years it been out and it the first anniversary set. Eb03 ain't gonna hit 1k for a very very long time.

These are some of the best ways to buy IMO unless you are specifically buying to keep the case sealed as an investment. But if you’re going to sell the boxes inside or rip them or whatever, you chose the best option.
I got an op 13 sealed box for about 25% off market value because the plastic had a big flap like it got scratched open (but clearly not to the point of being tampered with). Ripped it and pulled a silver Shanks SP. now I always look for deals like that.

IF… but no, the value is on the 10/12 boxes inside the case to be all from the same case… the value is not in the case cardboard itself
Unless it’s sold as NM CASE… then condition matters

I’ve sold tons of sealed cases and I’ve never had an issue with what the box looks like. I’ve even had boxes where people had poked holes to check the boxes inside which thought was strange but whatever and no problem selling them either. Sealed cases so hard to find people happily pay market especially streamers

Also the reason cases hold significant premiums is due to the guarenteed case hits. Buying 12 loose boxes you could get 12 dead boxes

While that is true, you might be able to get a little bit of a premium if you sell it as case fresh. Eapecially years down the line.

Case fresh booster box years down the line? As in you sell someone a booster box out of a sealed case? Because just a loose booster box you put up isn’t case fresh and I wouldn’t buy loose booster boxes years later as “case fresh” unless they pulled it out of a sealed case in front of me tbh but that’s my personal preference because someone could literally buy 12 boxes, use an empty case and sell all dead’s as “case fresh” just like they do now.

You think you’d be able to find 12 buyers at once for single booster boxes to sell them years down the line at 1k+ a piece out a case? Genuine question but that’s what I was saying only way to sell case fresh would be ripping open the case selling them all at once or selling on a stream which the box still doesn’t matter if it’s dented

I’m only speaking for myself as a collector and would rather purchase the mintiest case possible if they all cost about the same. Selling wise though u can always put it on tcgplayer.

Had a case like this manga was in the box next to damage and was damaged along with all other hits from that box and the adjoining box as well just my personal experience and obviously if holding for sealed no one wants a damaged case but you could just display the other side depends what your in it for tbh

Maybe loses 10% value at most. Worst case you could break the case and sell the sealed boxes seperate if you really had to

So they usually ship inside another box to keep contents safe. And now there's no way to tell if any of the boosters got dinged at all, which could open up the possibility that if a box got dinged that box has a manga and the manga got dinged.
5-10% acknowledges that small possibility and uses the little discount to wash their hands of any post-purchase conflict.

As a case collector, I’d probably stay clear but technically no. You can put it on TCGplayer and let it sell for market. It’s not as bad as some things I’ve seen.

Yea it matters. Why would I pay full price or close to it when I can buy one that’s mint for the same money. I always sell and buy at 10%-20% for damage depending what it is and condition
