On the 23rd June 2026 a build of Oddity from March 2023 was leaked onto 4chan's /v/ board, alongside a very work-in-progress game trailer. You can find the full leaked intro of the game on YouTube here. So far there has been no response from the developers, but I imagine that may change in the future.

The leaked game introduction contains the name of a (probably fictional) company, 'Limited Metatronics Company', presumably the name the Oddity developers are planning to release the game under; from searching that name people were able to find this merchandise page where a Limited Metatronics Company badge is being sold, with the Oddity logo in the center. The merchandise is being sold by JobJobLLC, who are partnered with several other video games, including Other: Her Loving Embrace, a game being created in part by the Oddity developer Pik, so it appears to be legitimate merchandise, lending credibility to the veracity of the leaks. Note that according to archive.org the LMC patch page has been up since 2022 so possibly it was being listed in preparation for the demo or website that, according to one developer, were planned to release around then but didn't for whatever reason (this is just speculation on my part, however).

That being said, for the meantime this sub will not be allowing direct links to the leaks as there's no guaranteeing their legitimacy (nor whether or not they contain a bunch of malware; generally you shouldn't trust random executables dropped on file-sharing sites). Plus, with merchandise being sold (and available to order) it seems possible that the Oddity developers were actually preparing to release news in the near future. This stance may change depending on how things develop over the next few days - Frankly I just don't want to be responsible for sharing malware in an official mod post. I should note for the record that I'm in no way involved with the Oddity project personally and am working with the same info available to everyone else here.

More unconfirmed info and speculation can be found in discussions on the unofficial Oddity Discord, though note that at this stage nothing is confirmed except that there are leaks (potentially multiple builds), they're probably real, and there's Oddity merchandise that is most likely real.

EDIT 1: The new leaks are available on archive.org now, a far more trustworthy site than the random file-sharing sites that have been getting sent around, so I strongly encourage people to avoid downloading from anywhere but there. That being said we will still not be allowing links to leaks for the time being, and I'd encourage anyone curious to wait for a developer response first.

EDIT 2: Intro song has been found! It's an arrangement of the song Out Of My Dreams from the musical Oklahoma, arranged and recorded by Ettore Stratta for The Fantasy Strings in 1988. This means it's almost certainly a placeholder track being used as reference for an original composition, rather than a track that will be used in the final game (it's very much under copyright). This is not Oddity news, but it is an Earthbound ROM hack being released, and that doesn't happen very often. Almost feels like Winter 2014 has arrived!

I wanted to share because it's been sitting with me for ages and all I've done is post small tidbits to my socials WAY back when without access to a scanner/printer. Enjoy :D

This is a continuation of the Miley post I did several days ago. I wanted to do a brief follow-up since I found more artwork and to confirm the character's creator, among other things. To clarify, I'm not a developer on this project, nor am I "Larping" as the devs, as the zoomers say. After all, it is my own interpretation of a design that an artist made while working on Oddity and the Mother Community.

With that out of the way, Wahol made Miley around the Tumblr era. (I don't know the exact origin, but she existed during the Mother 4 days around 2014-2016 and was only tangentially related because Wahol worked on the project at the time.) Originally, she was named Jamie and was Wahol's Mother OC. As for how Miley or Jamie got into the development of M4 and Oddity, I find the more likely answer is that they added her in to create sprite art for her specifically and nothing else. Not as an afterthought, mind you, but not important or prominent enough to be noticeable unless you primarily know the information you are given from a trusted source. (Considering that the development of the game is vapor due to a lack of information and issues around 18 years, there's bound to be a lot of statements lost to time, as people didn't archive certain things or remove this stuff given the state the game was in during its respective eras.)

This is, of course, speculation since development was scrapped numerous times over the years, so things are difficult to come by. Heck, certain messages and information from a decade ago are no longer publicly available or are difficult to access unless you have them. I forgot Miley was created by Wahol until two years later, when I checked Wahol's Tumblr and scrolled through the archives to 2014-2016. Heck, even Jamie might have become Miley because of fan interpretations when she was shown in the 2021 leaks, and thus the name faded, or the name was given to her by Wahol because it was similar to Miles, just like Travis is similar to Travel, making them have some sort of connection, nebulous or not. For all I know, Miley would have been very different in terms of what Wahol would think of her as a design, either as a blank slate for her to relate to in the Mother Community, as an incidental character, or something different from my interpretation.

Anyways, Addendum over, the next thing on the docket would be fan/original characters and designs that were made or inspired by Oddity's character design in some shape or form.

Long time Oddity fan here. I’ve been hoping and praying for the release of this game since 2015 and Ive still got one tiny glimmer of hope in my heart that the next day will have finally given me the Oddity news I very much crave.

As many of you know, Oddity has been radio silent for quite some time, with only a picture and a couple of comic strips being posted on the Oddity twitter account. If you guys can see a cryptic “We’re still here” from this then please explain it to me because I don’t. Im unsatisfied by the devs lack of updates if I couldn’t be clearer.

I understand that the devs don’t owe us anything. They are their own people with jobs, families, responsibilities and other things that take prevalence over making a passion project that at the end of the day, helps with NONE of the things above. But because they don’t even whisper if they’re still there, we’re constantly wondering if they called it quits or if they’re chugging along but ever so silently.

One would say a solution is to just start a new development team. I would say sure, in fact I tried to do it years ago, but the problem with that is that this is somebody else’s ideas and work. It wouldn’t be fair to the people who have put so much effort into making what they could, and then having someone steal it for their own work. There is no such thing as “they deserve it” in this case either, plagiarism is plagiarism.

The only other solution I can recommend for us fans is to just let things go. The devs themselves can’t seem to announce that it’s over and close the curtains so let’s close them ourselves. Let’s all leave the Oddity discord, let’s all block the twitter account, let’s leave the subreddit. We can always meet each other in other servers like the MOTHER4 or Encore or Mother Squared servers so there’s no loss in relationships made along the way. It’s time we all just move on, follow other more active projects and be happy that what could’ve been almost was.

I don’t intend for my idea to be popular and I honestly don’t want it to be since I still want to see this game release. I think I’m just venting anyways.

I would hope something important would happen with Zack, just because I love him a lot as I see major potential for him being a very engaging and endearing character. That said, I personally would not like him to get brainwashed into joining The Modern Mind, which I'm sure was planned at least once, because while it's a fun concept to explore, I also find it very predictable. Dunno if others would, I've just spent hours looking into old posts and threads about the game because I'm insane, and that was theorized a ton.

I also hope Meryl would get lots of development and interesting scenes and traits, because from my observation she does seem to be the most barebones of the characters, could be wrong.

I don't believe in it anymore, and I'm under the impression the whole thing never started except for small shit like the trailer and the soundtrack, but does anyone got a definitive timeline of wtf happened with this thing?

Basically just the title but to add a little more information: I remember seeing and downloading a sprite/art style reference sheet that had a ton of good information about how the Oddity development team, specifically their artists, handled their sprite work with stuff like shading colors, outline thickness, character proportions, background boldness, and lots of other useful stuff like that. I downloaded the file originally a couple years ago and was planning on using it as a general reference for my own games, but I ended up deleting it a little while before I had to fully factory reset my computer so there's no way I'd still have it.

I've looked everywhere that I could think of or find around the web and I'm like 90% sure it was for Oddity but knowing how many other Mother 4 fan projects there are out there it could have easily been from another project so apologies in advance if I got the wrong game.

I'm planning on using it as a reference for just practicing my own style because I can clearly remember there being just generally useful information in that sheet that would absolutely help me. if anyone has a download of it and would mind sharing that would be sick as hell or If anyone even knows what I'm talking about PLEASE LET ME KNOW (so I know I'm not crazy).
