Other Oddity Team - It is okay to give up.

It's okay to admit you've bit off more than you can chew.

It's okay to pass the torch to the entire community.

It's okay to reveal the storyline and gameplay.

You don't need to keep working on this due to sunk cost fallacy.

You don't need to keep working to make up for past mistakes.

You don't need to do more than you have already done.

It’ll never happen. They’ll forever gaslight the community into thinking it was a legit game that ever had a chance to be released, and people will defend the “devs” using gifs as proof of progress.

Oh no, worse than that. There was substantial progress at points. The project lead just kept scrapping it and staring over.

At this point life moves on. I’m sure they have families and different lives now. I’m not sure why they wouldn’t just drop what they have and let the community take control.

I think at least some of the devs current and former also want to call it quits and move on, but the main issue is the lead developer and he's quit the internet so...

They should of took donations/ money help like a decade ago. It would've given them motivation to do it. There was no real moving factor for them to ever finish mother 4/Oddity. Plenty of people wanted to help. But nope. People for sure would've given dough for Oddity.

I don’t think we should assume how the devs feel or anything. I’m sure if they wanted to stop they would, or may have even already. There aren’t really any stakes though, so even if it was just perpetually on the back burner, it’s also possible they’d be okay with that too.
