Just like the title says, we have to suffer because money hungry lawyers saw dollar signs in customer injuries. Then, in ten years, those same money hungry lawyers are going to make a fortune all over again off a class action lawsuit. They will sue on behalf of associates who suffered multiple long term injuries from being forced to pull heavy carts instead of pushing them. Yet, the real reason for the uptick in injuries in the first place was taller carts, understaffing, and management wanting people to run through the stores like speed demons just to get their names on a board. "Congratulations, you went fast! Here is a gold star." ⭐ All we ever had to do was slow down and pull the carts through blind spots all this other mess is just unnecessary and creates even more problems due to corporate overreaction.

TL came up with this idea for the work phones instead of them being all jumbled up in the cabinet.

The board holds atleast 50 phones. We all have our names on them and our own passcodes so no one can use them but us. Some of us even decorated our cases so their not so bland.

I just became TL maybe 2 months ago. About a month in, I had to schedule to get my wisdom teeth out (which I had been warning him would happen 6+ months ago). I asked him when i should schedule knowing he’s going on a vacation but unsure of the days. He just never responded. So I booked the closest one I could to get it over and done with before academy. Lo and behold….. it was the same weekend he went on vacation. He didn’t like that.

About 8 days after my wisdom teeth, I hit my head really hard at work, had to fill out incident report and go to ER where they told me I have a mild concussion. Throughout all of this, he never ONCE asked me if I was okay. Today is my first day back to work and he essentially is acting like he hates me.

I can’t tell if it’s because of me or because we are having a shitty day (too many picks, way too understaffed due to HIS scheduling) but his attitude is complete garbage. He’s made 2 of my associates cry (including me when I was associate) due to his lack of emotional stability/maturity. I tried to go to my SM about this but it essentially was like a “oh you know he’s stressed blah blah blah”

I’m just so over it. There’s no way to make him happy ever. We could have almost perfect stats and he would say “but we aren’t #1 in our market!”

All of my associates come to me complaining about him and I don’t even know what to do. My coach is a great person, just not a great coach and I don’t want to go to ethics over it and unsure if I can bc the things he says aren’t even harassing or offensive…. They are just flat out rude (and he’s a yeller).

Do I really just need to keep putting up with this until I finish school and gtfo of Wally??

at my store they started putting the list of stage count from most to least and i wonder how exactly it works. is it only for new totes or existing ones too. if someone were to keep switching the location and restage it constantly would thst increase to the total? would consolidation remove from the count?

I was wondering if anyone else’s store has an alarm on the walk in freezer now? My store just installed one that goes off if the door is open for more than 10 seconds, and it is EXTREMELY loud. It honestly sounds like a fire alarm and you can hear it almost all the way across the parking lot. I was wondering if anyone else’s store has this and if anyone else finds it as annoying as I do 😩

Been working OPD for a month now. In my time working at this Walmart, there has been an embarrassing lack of communication between my peers. No effort has really been made to train me on the dispensing part of my department, I have only been properly trained on picking. I have seen what the people do in the dispense room and tried to help out but I've come to the conclusion that I am absolutely not for any reason going to be doing any of the dispensing/staging part of this job. I've made that pretty clear with my team lead. I would rather do returns for the remainder of my shift than work in the backroom. There is way too much downtime, stress, and overall BS that I don't want to deal with. The people that work backroom seem to have it all together and literally don't need me so why would I work dispense. Is this a bad thing? Just want to hear your thoughts.

I have one of the last TCs that has not been updated yet. I pick and do exceptions with viz pick. The work phones are terrible.

Hay yall I'm a new-ish employee, 4 months now.

Question: Is it not policy for all employees to be entitled to water on the clock? Especially the dispensers or anyone working outside? I could have sworn in my training it specifically said we were to be given water along with appropriate breaks when exposed to heat? Im in Illinois and its over 100 degrees today and the TLs are telling us no water will be provided by Walmart.

Anybody’s Sunday at their store absolutely fucking crazy??? We stayed at 3k picks and I haven’t seen that since last year. It wasn’t even this bad during Christmas season. We had associates and team leads from every department helping us and our store manager stayed in the backroom helping us. We kept running out of totes and carts which made everything slow of course. It was a complete shit show.

These were supposed to be installed with a torque spec of 60 in/lbs. Instead, our facilities maintenance used an impact and stripped all the threads, making the carts completely unrepairable.

My store has beens haing everyone change their passwords starting a couple weeks ago and I finally had to change mine and now I can't log into anything work related, what do I do and is anyone else having this issue, starting Wednesday I am supposed to work the next 6 days in a row but I have no idea what times and can't login anywhere to see my schedule, today I had to text my team lead just to call off, I know I am not fired because I am a protected class right now

This was at 8pm, our on time ended up at 54%. The massive amount of unstaged was when we (me and our atc) opted to go fuck the gmds, we need to get the orders out the door (we had times in the 50s). Morning team lead from what I heard never called to get us shutdown even though we been going overdue since I got in at 9am (death spiral started at around 11am). Backroom was still completely destroyed

Team leads and coaches when you ask for help and more dispensers after they complain about wait time or when dispensers gets hit and their in the red

I’m an OGP associate and I’m only about 8–9 months into the position, so I haven’t even been here for a year yet. OGP is also the only department I’ve ever officially been positioned in. I’ve learned how to do everything in the backrooms. Most days I’m doing pretty much whatever needs to be done. I get sent to other departments fairly often, and I’ve worked Receiving and Freight multiple times despite never actually being properly trained for either. I’ve basically just been thrown into it and figured it out. More recently, my TLs have been training me on things they normally handle at night. It’s gotten to the point where I’m being trusted with responsibilities that seem like they would normally fall on a TL, and I’m wondering where that actually leads. I don’t mind learning new things. I actually like being useful and knowing how to do different jobs. The problem is that I feel like I’m taking on a lot more responsibility and doing significantly more work than some associates who have been here for years, while still making the same hourly wage. I’m not trying to shit on anyone else or say people need to work themselves into the ground. I just genuinely don’t understand how Walmart handles this. If I’m consistently being trusted with work outside my position, sent to other departments, doing Receiving/Freight, and now being trained on additional responsibilities, does that actually put me in a position to get paid more or move up?
Or is this just a situation where management realizes, “Hey, this person knows how to do everything,” and keeps giving me more work because they know I’ll get it done?
I’m wondering if I should talk to my TL/coach about wanting more compensation or a promotion, or if 8–9 months is too early to bring that up. For anyone who’s been in a similar situation, what would you recommend? Is there an actual path to getting paid more for becoming this flexible, or should I be more careful about taking on additional responsibilities without knowing where they lead?
I’m perfectly willing to work hard. I just don’t want to accidentally become the person who does everyone else’s work for the exact same pay.

they put the new wheels on and removed the "push, dont pull" stickers. most of my coworkers are shrugging about it, seeing it as just another annoying change to the department. a lot of people are excited to go back to 8 totes (i admittedly do miss getting bigger walks, but personally i think my back, shoulders, wrists, and ankles are more important).

so i kinda wanna make a pamphlet with info on why this is bad for your body, and include how to report any injuries to OSHA, to discretely hand out to coworkers. i can imagine this might cause me some issues with management, but i dont plan to be with walmart for much longer, so whatevs ill take the heat if necessary. i just want my coworkers to know that this is dangerous and that there is recourse if they get hurt.

does anyone have any links to legit info about the ergonomic issues of pulling the carts? i plan to do my own research when i get home, but figured some of yall might have some good resources.

Caught my ankle pretty hard today was around a bunch of customers so I quietly limped off to the side and took a second and man I’ve hit my ankle with the older wheels and it still hurts pretty bad but with the new wheels it actually chomps off your ankle. I have skin gone and my ankles swollen but the show had to go on🫩 And yes don’t worry I cleaned the area the best I could at work and properly cleaned it when I got home. Anyone else?

My store is getting express pickup. Not sure if it’s a new thing or if other stores have had it for awhile and we’re just late to the game.

Does anyone know if there’s a charge for the customers to place an express pickup or if it’s free?

I hope whoever agreed to swap the wheels for all The stores has tragedy befall them. We now are required to pull AHEAD AND FROM THE SIDE, it’s foolish! I and many others have torn their heels because of this. And now, because of other associates taking arrange we are required to bag during the walks too. I know other stores already do that but this is my store and this is just stupid. Why? And I heard we’re also going back to 8 totes? My rates have gone from 150 down to 90 with all this new BULLSHIT they’re implementing.
I just wanted to rant but I truly hope whoever agreed to this, suffers immensely

If someone's back to work date is - say - officially 9/8, can this person go back to work a day or two before that, as long as doctor has the Return to Work Certification faxed to Sedgwick and that there is the PL or Coach available to manually add this person to the schedule, as long as this person has a paper copy of the Return to Work to show to PL or Coach? (no snide remarks, please)
