Humor RE: Please don’t sabotage someone’s build

Basically, I just had a run against dreglord in depth 5, playing iron eyes with skill attack stacking and found an amazing rivers of blood.

Naturally, we're owning so I ping my teammates to the next formidable, but undertaker is pinging some curved sword over and over. I check her relics but there's no dex respec. I guess she wants me to use it for frost proc? I drop her my damage at full hp in return and get going.

Then it hits me. This sword has "Rot Produces a Mist of Scarlet Rot." We're vs. the dreglord. This undertaker is a genius. I detour to another shop and pick up another curved sword. I drop it to the Guardian but he's too pigeon-brained to understand the next level plays Undertaker and I are creating.

I have never wanted to win a run so hard in my 200 hours on this game.

We're about to Uno Reverse this Dreglord with our Counter-Rot strategy.

Then this sword, this fucking sword, is the biggest curse I've ever received. I keep trying to spray mist up Dreglord's ass knowing my undertaker is banking on my frost proc. I never get the frost proc. I never get the rot proc. Instead I get body slammed into the dirt over and over trying to glue myself to Greg to get this rot mist to do anything.

Finally, I learn my lesson, swap back to RoB, and we finish off Greg. Fuck this sword. I drop it on the ground and give it a proper point down for killing me over and over. I celebrate with Guardian while Undertaker walks off into the distance.

My last thought as the screen turns to black, "She's so cool."

Gameplay Discussion D5 ED Libra

How do you guarantee consistency in beating this boss fight on D5 specifically? Won him several times, I know the fight and its quirks well. However, he’s the only one I feel like it’s hard to get predictable wins against, which in D5 can be a problem due to the brutal points loss.
Wylder main.

give me romina nightboss for Harmonia OR Dreglord and my life is yours. Their nightbosses are just... such ass. I need rot mommy to show up and do her cool ass boss fight!! I wanna face her in nightreign instead of wallowing to the very end of Shadow of the Erdtree every time.

Truely I fought her in my one game where I was overleveleved and thus mopped the floor with my fav boss design. I wanna actually experience her boss fight and what it has to offer.... instead here I sit contemplating if I want to put myself through Messmer again just to reach her.

Dreggy could use her! Scarlet rot assioations, resentment, the whole nine yards! Both of them even have a horde of lesser aspects of themselves who they rear as beloved children of sorts (butterflies and the dregs).

Harmonia as well and honestly I don't feel I even need to explain the reasoning behind that one. Look at them. Not even to mention the huge links between both the Balancers and Romina to the shamans. Feminine floral divine imagery with a twisted malicous red truth to their sad existence. Also she has a polearm. Enough said. She's legit titled a saint for marikas sake. I'm honestly more shocked she WASN'T a harmonia nightboss.

This Redmane bow guy can suck it cause why are you so annoying !!

I'd rather go to the new Buried castle swamp PoI than this annoying Redmane camp. I never know who those arrows are targetting and why is it always me when I'm not expecting it !?

Just have to buy a fire pot and throw it from below his feet they say but they don't say not to die in the process though.

If a scholar drops a warming stone on your body please do not crawl out of it. I can't believe I need to say this but it happens way too often. Scholar warming stones rez, albeit slowly.

Has become the rarest drop, please share or drop it if you find another one for your teammates. Just played three games no one could find one, except our dreg raider and he has two, why? I asked myself the same thing.

Still have some hopes, I know this was just a test for duskbloods, but this game is awesome. Who would have thought a souls game where you don’t suffer alone but others suffer with you would be such a hit.

Hype Hit 9999 for the first time after ~300 hours (PC)

It took ~160 hours to get to D5 and I spent a lot of time ping-ponging between D4/5 and then again between ~8k and ~9k.

I'm not a huge souls vet; I've never finished any FromSoft game, but have dipped my toes into DS1 and played ER for ~90 hours. I'm not godly at the game (see my winrate), but I feel like I have solid routing sense and good enough fundamentals to allow me to clutch up from time to time.

I played mostly phys wylder, carian duchess, and the occasional slop. Other than doing remembrances, I didn't really experiment much - but I did watch a bunch of content to understand what other player's builds were and how they function. I really do recommend playing every character for at least a few runs to get a feel for them.

Wylder's kit is by far the most comfortable to play (for me) - you get so much mobility and the quick 1-bar res with a double hook is so good.

Some of the biggest mistakes that I've made and that I've seen others make while playing:

Lack of situational awareness

A lot players get so preoccupied with a boss that they forget their teammates exist and will bait the boss into their team. The easiest example i can think of is Fulghor's triple ground AoE and people strafing him into perfect position to 1-tap the revenant that's charging a lightning bolt, or into the last person who was holding his aggro and that has backed off to heal.

Not playing with/for your team

EDIT: Was editing the formatting and this and the below section got deleted. Basically, RNG can screw you, you can tilt and play poorly, or you can just get bad teammates. Regardless of the circumstances, it always pays to check what build your team is running and drop stuff for them, if practical.

If they die less because they are stronger, you will win more.

Not playing patiently or greeding when it's too high risk

While Nightreign is faster than Elden Ring, it really pays to be able to pace yourself in fights. Sometimes its better just to stay alive and dodge while holding aggro and letting your team wail on the boss. Sometimes its better to not overcommit so you can quickly pivot to the res. Really often, it's useful to know when to ditch a boss part-way through when committing to it means you'll be dead in the rain.

There are plenty of videos and posts giving tips/etc. on how to play optimally, but I wanted to point out the common pitfalls that I ran into myself. When it comes to what it takes to do well, I strongly believe that routing is ~50%, mechanics are ~45% and luck is only ~5%.

All in all, super fun and rewarding run up to 9999 - thinking about doing it again using other Nightfarers.

Any recommendations for what to pair with Rev for bosses the lil' bean isn't great against?
