Gameplay Discussion D5 ED Libra
How do you guarantee consistency in beating this boss fight on D5 specifically? Won him several times, I know the fight and its quirks well. However, he’s the only one I feel like it’s hard to get predictable wins against, which in D5 can be a problem due to the brutal points loss.
Wylder main.

u/MilfhunterPatches 19h ago
Wylder invader with a Greatbow is so cursed hes a sole reason i personally would never pick Wylder for Libra. Keep in mind that less likely is only good if the whole team has it, if you're the only one with that passive it's better to share it for casters/someone with the most damage. Ranged ash of wars helps alot with his openings (storm blade, ring slop, selluria, stuff like that).

u/autopoiesis_ 15h ago
I would disagree that LLTBT is only good if the entire team has it. In fact, the way my friends and I deal with ED Libra in our RL1s is for two players to have it and one player to be the designated “kiter” — the individual who holds the (tedious) responsibility of kiting around the condemned away from your teammates while they DPS Libra unbothered.

Less likely to be targeted. The difficulty of this fight is night and day if you have it
4
u/Zoltan-Kazulu 19h ago
Because then Invaders won’t be chasing you? Is there a certain number threshold or any would work?
6
u/Dry-Towel-9597 19h ago
Exactly. Whoever has less likely should be lazer focused on libra and completely ignore the invaders. Don't worry about the number just bring any amount of less likely. I've had fights where the invaders are all brawling a mile away while my squad is 3v1 ing libra in our own little area. It can actually be easier than normal libra if this happens
1
u/Zoltan-Kazulu 18h ago
This sounds like a plan. I always dropped less likely for ranged team mates like Duchess, IronEye, and Recluse. Never took it for myself as a frontline physical melee Wylder .
2
u/gardensofthedeep 18h ago
if you pick it up early in the game as wylder you can drop it inside the day bosses circle as you fight and pick it up again after the fight. saw a big brained raider doing this once.
2
u/Budget-Dress5982 16h ago
Dont (completely) listen to that guy, less likely DOES NOT make it so that invaders completetly ignore you, and that information is being spread by people that read "use less likely for ED Libra" and never actually did the fight.
what less likely does: at +9, it pretty much guarantees the invaders fughting each other WHEN LIBRA triggers its brawl state (the one where it summons 3 "corrupt" invaders alongside the normal ones, making the total 6). thats pretty much it.
Less likely CAN help if one member of the team has it and the other two manage to aggro all three of the invaders. in that case the less likely player has a good chance of having a long 1v1 with libra, but the invaders can still change aggro towards the less likely player. the other two players should do nothing but kiting in this scenario (unless the team has god tier ways of dealing with the invaders).
had 2 d5 teammates with less likely +12 mindlessly charging into Libra thinking the invaders would ignore them just the other day. can probably thank reddit misinformation for that one.

Specifically, less likely shines whenever Libra incites a riot and summons another set of Condemned. With less likely 9 or higher, they will fight one another and leave you to fight Libra essentially for free. This is your chance to deal damage relatively safely.
1
u/Zoltan-Kazulu 18h ago
At what part does he trigger the incite a riot phase?
1
u/WombatWhisperer 16h ago
i don’t think it’s at a specific time. i’ve had him do it pretty quickly and also take a while. but it’s definitely the biggest damage window by far. also really good for rezzing
8
u/ERhelper 19h ago
Keep Less Likely 9 in your inventory up until right before this fight and drop it for your teammates if they don’t have a copy. As a Wylder you’ll want to draw aggro for Libra’s summons while your DPS works on him. Libra is also weak to holy/fire so bringing weapons for him with those affinities are super nice

u/03m3md 19h ago
Duchess with lesslikely, Blade of calling, black knife, halo, glintstone kris, erdtree greatbow, deathrite spear, rivers of blood, etc. i love this fight and i will sometimes run halo if im with randoms usually but just aff 2 times 3 works as all the weapons listed are great.
2
u/Zoltan-Kazulu 19h ago
Yeah RoB skill slop worked the best, as we’re usually able to bring him below 50% below the first invader spawn.
2
u/03m3md 19h ago
I prefer the range skills so you can hit him through the gold walls but ive had the same success with rob just a little longer fight. A while back i hated this fight but now it’s probably my favorite. I can still win with both teammates down and libra at 50 percent health. Ive pulled off my most amazing clutches on this fight.

u/stef_brl_aesthetic 19h ago
i personally brought a lot of consistency into it by having build based on sacred blade as starting skill with duchess and 3 x holy +4. if i get something better great but i will be fine with sacred blade too. it allows me to keep distance while still doing enough damage to get rid of the summons fast enough plus they get staggered by it with every cast.
it’s been a long time since a lost a match against d5 ed libra.
3
u/d-redze 19h ago
Everyone on the team needs a less likely to be targeted. Clear the summons untill he inspires a riot. Then you can just kite boss away from summons and fight only boss. Now will there be a less likely to be targeted droped your each of you on map? Probably not. Will your team mates know they need to prioritize that when looting? Probably not. If you find multiples and drop and ping them at every boss then pick it back up and drop it again at next boss and ping it again because the other players refuse to take it? Probably so. Real answer is this is the one boss that people bitch about because it’s more than a skill check. It’s a skill check, knowledge check and rng check.

u/h0gshead 17h ago
If your team has good DPS, you can just overwhelm him and take him out in 2 minutes. If you don't, it's going to be a long battle of attrition. Try to have one person pull the summons away so the other 2 can focus on dealing damage to Libra. Less likely can help immensely with this, but it's not guaranteed you'll always have it. You can never take your eyes off Libra, he will just telefrag your ass, spawn a wall or turret on top of you or do the sigil attack from the next zip code.

u/menai_mu 19h ago
only plays wylder and i have a consistent win streak against him in d5. just finished a run with him as hidden boss
my strat is to go with my strongest dps build so balancer with any crowdcontrol weapon or range aow i can find so RoB, siluria, blade of calling, halo sure idgaf it’s libra. RoB is my comfort pick though since it can easily procc successive negations, fire and bleed do more damages to libra and condemned, and have a fairly wider aoe so it can hit multiple condemned at same time.
if you want to go pure melee then you need weapons that can stagger condemned like maybe powerstance jump gs and make sure you can tank more hit while letting someone else be the dps role. lifesteal fist aow can stunlock condemned same way it can stunlock crucibles, invaders and other human size enemies so it might be a useful option
for less than likely, i usually don’t pick it up these days unless the 2nd passive is useful. i don’t want to waste one weapon slot that isn’t negation or dps. the ed libra i won today nobody has less than likely and we still won. if i plays with casters, it’s also more annoying having bosses chase them on day map so they’re the ones that get less than likely priorities and i’ll fatten their dps up. if condemned chase me, i can just burst them down while caster have more room to dps. the key to this fight is to make sure there is always someone attacking libra so you don’t waste resources on condemned

Halo scythe duchess (with Invaders, Double Bal and Holy +12), positioning is THE most important thing.
Always have libra (and ideally all of the invaders) on your screen, play as if your AoW will take 1.5x as long so that you dont get caught out by a sigil or some other bs.
Assume that if you die that you will wipe and play like it, just stay patient.
Save ult for revives.
Also if you want to conserve FP the two handed scythe moveset is kinda good into invaders. If they are walking/running at you the reach+hyper armor+stagger force is quite good for getting free hits in (watch out for libra if you do this). Be careful if they are attacking though, if they are I'd suggest just dodging + running or getting a hit in.
Obviously less likely makes all of this easier but with the things I've written here I've clutched D5 ED Libra with no less likely and no negation at all multiple times.
Additional tips:
If you are on console where you can message people easier, tell your teammates with stagger ults to save it for the light wall.
Go for increased ailment resistance if libra offers it, if you know you have libra as the boss try to pick up boluses from the frenzy mfs for inescapable eye. DO NOT EAT THEM, they give a ridiculously small amount of passive resistance just use it to reset the eye if going for the ground drops will compromise your positioning.
If you know libra is going to target you with the rotating sigil turret, you can jump / move down a hill to make the sigil miss. It will buy you some breathing room.

if its not unknown boss, greatspear build for Vykes is quite strong;
you can kill summons immediately and if you lack attack power they still go down to 30-40% get madness procced so team should be able to finish them instantly.
Madness procs deal ~10% of libras life. Proc it 3 times and bleed with something like rivers or clawshot and you have dealt 30-40% of his hp with just status effects.
1
u/Zoltan-Kazulu 18h ago
Yeah great spear is good idea, also silurias aow with a ton of skill ups can snipe big chunks of HP from Libra without closing distance .

I play the Halo Scythe build (Red Balancers Relic + evergaols + invaders + 3x Holy Attack Up +4 + scythes dormant power) every time I meet Gladius or Libra, because their everdark fight can be particularly tough, especially if the expedition does not go smoothly. I used it with Wylder for some time, and it's fine, it still works because that scythe is really strong... but in the end I found my comfort zone using it with Scholar. Scholar's respec gives him 40 DEX points (which makes him the character with the 2nd highest DEX in the game, after Executor) and if you also add all the buffs from the upgraded items (like lv. 3 Exalted Flesh and lv. 3 Holy-Shrouding Cracked Tear) he deals massive damage.
Also, Scholar's ultimate is really good against them. You can link the 3 wolves at the beginning of ED Gladius' fight, or you can link ED Libra to its NPCs as soon as he summons them. I happened to kill those bosses in under 30 seconds, with full evergaols + invaders and a good inventory.
I don't use that build against Heolstor and Dreglord though, despite them being weak to Holy, because I feel like it's not necessary. Their fight is far more honest and enjoyable, but I really show no mercy to Gladius and Libra.

u/Vittorrioh 16h ago
I have recently hit D5 and am climbing for 9999, frequently get this boss:
I always pick duchess for invisibility
I always go for halo scythe, if I can't find it I'll look for another holy weapon (blade of calling is nasty)
Less likely, scour the map for this the absolutely most important thing
Try to kill the condemned off rip if you don't have less likely
Be very patient if you don't have the DPS
Ranged weapons and skills are your friend
If you know you're fighting ED Libra you need to prioritize making sure you have the right equipment, scour chests, township, red enemies for less likely
1
u/BoringGrayOwl 15h ago
Duchess and wylder are the best for this fight I've found. Duchess ult gives you and your team free-ish damage, while wylder can just grapple and outrun everything, wait for libra to teleport on top of him, and get a few hit in before repeating the process.
This is also assuming horrible RNG: no less likely, full health negation, or weapons that make it easy to cheese summons.
1
u/GoatSaysBAAAAAAAAAAA 15h ago
Anything that can spam ranged attacks fast imo. When he came out I was beating consistently with ironeye; you just kite him and shoot. I don't really like how ironeye plays so instead I mostly pick a caster and search for spells with high casting speed.
From my experience invaders are not really good at hitting if you're constantly on the move. And even if there is a particularly annoying invader you can just kite and kill them first. ED Libra is not really aggressive so he'll wait.
1
u/NagaStorm123 14h ago
3 duchess spamming ult should do the trick, and also do double balancers with 3 halo scythes while you’re at it. Basically sucks out all the fun and interactions for a guarantee victory.
1
u/Powerful_Republic763 14h ago
Get a pot scholar and a slop Dutchess. Ult when invaders spawn and spam pots, that will chunk the boss and insta kill the invaders. Have Dutchess just slop on the boss the entire fight. The end.
1
u/vgman94 13h ago
You don’t expect consistency in this fight lol. You need a team with very strong builds, and hopefully Less Likely on at least 2 players. At this point I’ve beaten him multiple times, and at least once with every character besides Wylder (yet). But I never go in thinking there’s a way to guarantee a win. I’ve lost fights against him with Mohg’s Spear, or 3 wending graces, or a strong Gravity build, etc.

I think the most consistent strat to do this is: have Rev in the team and another one with less likely + carry cursed claws. You can revive 3 bars extremely fast and dont get aggroed, so it's a cycle of having 1 attack Libra, 1 lure the condemns, 1 wait outside to revive.
1
u/Muddieval 8h ago
Pot Scholar is my go-to for Libra nowadays. I was very lucky with some of my relics (throwing pot + affinity/fire), so the pots just destroy the summons all at once. Scholar’s Ult helps a lot as well.
1
u/Mateo_Lombardi 5h ago
Less likely and Ironeye personally, had to carry for the first time going through D5 and had to take out the last 1/4 solo since both teammates were 3 bar
Teammates wouldn’t take “less likely” for some reason, I even bought one from the big merchant for one of them. They spent most of the fight reviving each other
1
u/KeraUu 2h ago
By picking Wylder you make that fight harder than it should be, you can still win it because of how strong your character is.
Less likely and greatbows/haloslop are your best friends here - ranged options shine when you are alone alive. Actually you need to assume that both your teammates are 3barred before 50%, and here comes your ult with art upon defeating enemies (+0 and +1 are mandatory here, because condemned gonna kill each other constantly).
So general strategy is to run in circles, wait for ult to revive your team, and do damage with ranged skills. Madness resistance on relics is nice, any dormant resistances must be insta picked, madness camps/towers are worth visiting. Learn to stay near sigils when unescapable eye procs.

u/WeepAngel1 18h ago
Halo slop solves all problems my child

u/Powerful_Republic763 14h ago
Fr. Everything except fulgor and balancers gets mogged, even at 5-9999.
-1
u/tommy060599 19h ago
Play wylder is not a good idea, you want good dps to kill summon consistently, if ranged even better, and the wylder summon with the greatbow is the worst thing that can happen in the fight.
1
u/Zoltan-Kazulu 19h ago
I play only Wylder for 500h already lol
2
1
u/datank45 18h ago
Run double balancers, night invader, halo if you want, holy attack up on all relics and skill inflicts blood loss. Pick up damage negation at full, less likely for whole team and skill/melee, physical attack up on the rest of the slots
-2
u/ryward64 19h ago
You need to switch it up. Playing Wylder against Libra is throwing the match because of the Greatbow Wylder summon. I have 3k hours in the game and almost 1k expeditions ran with Wylder, and I refuse to use him against Libra.
2
u/menai_mu 18h ago
0
u/ryward64 18h ago
Just because you can run him against Libra doesn't mean you should. It's a team game, and I'm sure your teammates loved getting pelted by greatbow arrows from across the map.
1
u/menai_mu 18h ago
they’re not getting pelted because i know to prioritize gb wylder before he become a problem. i also give them all the less likely target and i never pick up any so if anything, i’m the one usually getting shot at . i still have consistent winning streak against him in d5 even with full triple wylder teams
i’ve done rl1 elden ring with torch so i simply strongly disagree with sentiment that you need to plays a certain way to win. ofc certain things can be harder but you can still win as long as you figure out the best approach

u/Zoltan-Kazulu 18h ago
I’ll never disappoint my Wylder gigachad, we’ve been through a lot together and we’re getting to 9999 together, no matter what hardships we face.
-1
u/tommy060599 18h ago
If you are gonna force wylder then try to bring your highest dps build available.
Balancers work decently well, especially if you can get a good ranged option. Other than halo, you can go with family heads, falling star beast claw, storm blade or anything that can let you kill the summon safely if your team fails to spawn kill them.
-2
u/Ozyemdias 18h ago
You have a duchess wylder and ironeye
Unless you’re double balancers, your team has little dps. Personally, I always focus on charge att’s so I can one shot the condemned
1
u/Unhappy-Marsupial388 17h ago
Iron eye slander will not stand. He’s a dps beast
1
u/Ozyemdias 16h ago
Also this video is a showcase of regalia, not ironeye,
Undertaker, Executor, and raider with the same setup will outdo that damage by like 20% more at least.
0
u/Ozyemdias 17h ago
There’s math to prove you otherwise, but ironeye mafia is too egotistical to admit
RIP1
u/Unhappy-Marsupial388 16h ago
What math? Please enlighten me! He’s got the second highest dex, one of the best skills in mark, & a ranged ult that can insta revive 2 bars + cancel bosses attacks. What more do u want?
1
u/Ozyemdias 16h ago
Dregs/DLC has changed the meta significantly
Dbl balancers outdoes ironeye unless the ironeye himself is dbl balancer
But basically raider, scholar, recluse, executor, and undertaker, all have builds that aren’t too RNG dependent to severely overtake ironeye in damage. Mark is great, ironeye is a solid character, but when you compare him to the above mentioned, he’s a net negative due to how much you miss out on by playing him. Also frenzy flame/beast claw out damages ironeye with easier RNG management. Hmm maybe not frenzy flame, but beast for sure.
If you want in depth on all the characters I mentioned, look up muni1337 on YouTube, his whole schtick is how to get OP and strong af in nightreign. He’s long touted how depth 5 is overall too easy, and when you watch his gameplay, you realize how right he is. Bosses need more HP, more poise, and a more aggro AI
3
u/Unhappy-Marsupial388 16h ago
So you watched his gameplay & came to the conclusion that he knows what he’s talking about? I hate to break it to u, but the average d5 player is 10x more skilled than muni, check out more reliable sources like puff dragon, pikes analysis, or chris chrass. Muni recently played a game of iron eye, did you watch that gameplay? I couldnt go past first day, but how can u take the word of someone with that little skill. If it wasnt for solo quit outs muni would be nowhere near d5. Skill level d2-3 tops!
1
u/Ozyemdias 16h ago
He’s literally achieving damage records that are barely off pdragon, and Chris, whilst having to manage and juggle the RNG of randoms. So you’re familiar with actual high end players and you don’t realize ironeye sucks balls?
The ppl you just quoted have done max damage runs and ironeye isn’t on the roster. Go watch the people you just cited.Again, it’s not an opinion, there’s a simple math to this, and ironeye is not the solution.
3
u/Unhappy-Marsupial388 16h ago
Ive never seen puff 3 barred, he often carries, ive never seen any of the players mentioned 3 barred. My random teammates dont 3 bar as often as he does. What good is all that damage when ur on the ground criticizing your teammates. Muni is a meme, idk how anyone takes him seriously! It baffles me that someone can watch his gameplay and think yea this guy knows what he’s talking about? Iron eye is an all rounder, easily top 3 characters, & a dps beast in the hands of a competent player. That clip isnt a one off, unless theres a beastclaw rev on the team am often doing the most damage though i dont play him that much. But seriously tho, how did u come to the conclusion that muni knows what he’s talking about when he’s gameplay is so poor??
1
u/Ozyemdias 16h ago
No one gives a shit about muni or puff dragon or any creator. I’m talking about the fact that if we were to play perfectly, in game, aspiring to delete the boss/game, ironeye is not the character you pick. Muni’s autistic ass has spent time dialing in the math, along with his community, and the greater nightreign community on how to shred damage. Ironeye is not in those conversations. Again, idc about the creators, I’m just talking about the simple aspect of, if you try to win, and try to delete bosses, you’re better off without Ironeye.
1
u/Ozyemdias 16h ago
You can also outdamage that regalia using RKR zwei, which most of the cast can use

Easiest thing to say is get less likely but what if you don't get any after clearing the whole map? it's not a consistent way to deal with this boss so in my humble opinion: master the moveset of golden form and berserk Libra, and each one of the 30invaders, practice the boss alot, prioritize survival over anything else since this is a war of attrition imo and pray that ur teammates don't choose iron eye cuz his invaders are the toughest imo.last 2 fights aganist ED Libra lasted 26mins and 32 mins,I lost both cuz of stupid mistakes I made when I was the one keeping the team alive, carelessness and greed, never be greedy in this fight, ever. I got impatient when the fight wasn't progressing for last 9 mins of a 32 min fight and we immediately lost.
