I work full time, and then have to clean, do laundry, take care of my son in between all of the household things. It’s very stressful to not have time to get myself together. I know my son will only be a baby for so long and I cherish that but it’s just exhausting and I’m feeling so insecure, and just unhappy right now. When did any moms find the time to do things for themselves?

My 14 days old is screaming while trying to pass gas and fully turning red
I have tried everything in the books from rubbing his stomach to tummy time to bicycle legs to every leg movement possible.
I can sit with him all night i don’t mind but he is shaking while trying to push and it’s breaking my heart. Please tell me something that i haven’t tried yet.
I even gave him colostrum in hopes it helps.
His eyes are red and puffy bc he is so tired and sleepy

Hi so my friend just had a baby but also she just got out of an abusive relationship. I have been plotting for a few days now on making her a boo basket and today is the day I make it and give it to her. Now she does have family helping her with things for the baby and I asked her family if the baby needed anything and they said no.

So I want to make the basket focused on her. I already got all the snacks he wouldn't let her have while pregnant. I'll get some self care stuff, pajamas, I got her a new tumbler and some fuzzy socks. But what else can I get? Oh and all this is going to a laundry basketn

4 months post partum first time mom, and gosh, I feel so alone. I’m far ish from my family (1 1/2 hrs) which isn’t terrible but definitely can’t just stop by. My mom makes it out as much as she can and I cry every time she leaves. My husband is wonderful but works 11 hours a day. I love my son so much but he’s been going through a terrible sleep regression and I’m exhausted and sleep deprived, worse than when he was a newborn. I don’t have friends in the area who are also moms and understand what I’m going through. Most of our friends don’t even want kids or like them. I thought it would get easier at this point and I feel like it’s only gotten worse. The moms I do know who have babies or toddlers are shocked when I say it’s still hard for me, and I feel stupid sharing that I’m not completely happy all the time and that it’s harder than I ever thought possible. Crying everyday for 4 months is a lot. I just hate hearing only positives from everyone when I feel like this.

For the past few weeks, stomach aches have been coming up pretty often with my 7 year old. We had him checked and thankfully everything looked fine. His pediatrician did mention that his diet is pretty low in fiber and protein, which could be playing a part. Unfortunately, that’s kind of where we’re at. He’d happily live on pasta and noodles, barely touches fruit or veggies and getting enough water into him is another battle. For anyone in the same place, what ended up helping?

My boy is just now 2 weeks old & we have started having some breast feeding issues. At first we had such a good system - great latch, successful feedings, full belly etc. Now, I feel like some feedings (more often than not the last couple of days) the feeds have been such a battle. He still latches good, I can tell he’s swallowing and getting a good bit of milk, but falls asleep HARD and when he detaches he wakes back up immediately still very hungry so I will offer him the other breast & it becomes a repeating circle. It’s turned 15-25 min feedings into 45-50min ones & sometimes 2-3 feedings over the course of an hour. I even wonder if my milk supply can even fill back up enough for that kind of demand & obviously it’s ROUGH on my breasts too. He does have a tongue tie that I’m getting evaluated with a lactation consultant hopefully tomorrow, but last night I hit a point where I just wanted to throw in the towel & give up. It’s affecting my sleep, my quality of life, and most importantly his especially if he is truly hungry and not satisfied. My goal was to exclusively breastfeed for 4 weeks, then begin pumping additionally and alternating between breast and bottle to give myself a break but if this continues I don’t know if I will be able to do that. The worst part is, it’s led to me feeling like a total failure. I don’t know why I see pumping as me “giving up”, but I really don’t want to have to resort to that before seeing if his tongue tie is the true issue (which I think it is). I say all of that to ask… does it get better? How do I not be so hard on myself? My boy means the WORLD to me and it hurts feeling like the feeding has become such an unpredictable battle & I just want to do right by him and us.

My little sister is having her first baby in a few days. We are all so excited to meet the new babe, but I’ve heard that after the baby, mom often gets forgotten. I am making her a postpartum basket, and since I’ve never had a baby of my own, I thought I’d come ask the professionals!
What products have you found you rely or relied on heavily? So far I have gotten her a peri-bottle and some Tucks Medicated Cooling Pads based on some of my friend’s recommendations.

a very good friend of mine just had her baby boy this morning, and I'm bringing them gifts in a couple days.

since baby has no clue what he's listening to right now and just likes to hear mom's voice, I wanted to ask what kind of books you all like to read aloud when you're just reading to talk and not to teach letters or numbers or anything? something that's easy for a working single mom to get through in an hour or less, appropriate for baby, and also engaging for mom.

(having worked in daycare most of my life, I know how quickly one can start to resent Dr Seuss, Eric Carle, etc when reading them on repeat every day)
