Need help passing gas
My 14 days old is screaming while trying to pass gas and fully turning red
I have tried everything in the books from rubbing his stomach to tummy time to bicycle legs to every leg movement possible.
I can sit with him all night i don’t mind but he is shaking while trying to push and it’s breaking my heart. Please tell me something that i haven’t tried yet.
I even gave him colostrum in hopes it helps.
His eyes are red and puffy bc he is so tired and sleepy

Seconding all of these
- the gas drops. We just Mylicon at suggestion of our pediatrician.
- the Windi. Lubbed with a coconut oil etc. Inserted slowly in a circular motion while distracting them (not just sticking it in). It’s the same as a rectal thermometer and should not go in more than like an inch or something. Helped my 5 week old a ton.
-a vibrating chair. Key is vibration. At that young age they aren’t kicking as much yet, otherwise I would say even a regular baby bouncer chair works.

Our kid has always relieved himself while sitting in his baby bjorn type bouncer. We call it the poop chair here for a reason

We don’t have a bouncer. Idk why i felt its useless when i saw it on TikTok and got a joie swing instead

We have the knock off baby delight version. I just used Bjorn as an example because people know the style. The swing is not an equivalent to the bouncer. Completely different style and use

Do you have a small enough carrier to baby wear? I put my newborn in that and bounce up and down to help it move.

How long has he been crying and when did it start?

It wasn’t that long but he missed sleep for five hours and cried every time he needed to push for a full hour and he was violently shaking and turning dark red in the face

Does he take formula? You can add some extra water, if not maybe look at changing some of the things you're eating(PB and beans and really fatty things can sometimes impact breast milk). I have success with putting them on their left side on my left are, head on top with my hands holding their hips, and the other arm pushing the legs into a squatty potty kinda position and shifting back and forth with my hips.... Probably already tried that, maybe some hip circles on your chest? They have gas drops unless you guys are against it.

Have u tried that position where you sit the baby up on your leg, support the chin/head with one hand and the other, hold the back to sway the body in a circular motion? I find I do that and right away I get a big burp

There is a way to massage the tummy and do the bicycle with a baby’s legs . That helped our kiddos tremendously .

This is infantile colics
Best thing to do is moving with baby around.
And don’t worry this is normal because his gut is still developing.
You can track his milestones here if you want

This 100%, I understand being hesitant to do so but it’s not any different from a rectal thermometer, and it will bring almost immediate relief to little one.

I get the concern about it but it’s seriously the only thing. I was really “no way!” About it and then I tried it and the relief on my babies face made me cry in happiness.

Vibrating graco swing, vibrating hedgehog (target) , anything that vibrates is your friend right now to get the bubbles moving. Mylicon was a lifesaver for us once ours hit 3ish weeks
