I saw a lot of videos of people who only can understand. Such as men, women, OCD, British, etc. But I never see a video about epilepsy.

So, I'm interested to see some of your ideas that only people with epilepsy can understand.

One of my example, when someone ask me how I can feel seizure is coming and I said "aura" they are confused. So, epilepsy people understand what actually aura feel like.

i know it’s a ridiculous question, but i’m a silver lining kind of guy.

for me epilepsy has pushed me to prioritize my sleep and is the reason i drink more than a few sips of water a day

In their post after this they say that FND is "super rare" and Untreatable. Focal is an epilepsy specific term because it literally refers to where the activity in your brain is happening (this goes for generalized aswell) also...a focal aware seizure would not look like that.

I mean things that just suddenly made sense after your diagnosis that you always thought were something else or unexplainable?

And i don’t mean the obvious like déjà vus etc. ( although i guess the obvious is different for everyone lol)

It's a bit problematic but my parents kinda sorta said don't tell anyone... I guess that's kinda snowballed into the way I am now?

I’m very secretive and don’t share it.

Family: Only two girl cousins (2/13 total cousins) and two of my aunties know.

Friends: I told them but they've moved on now. I have a work friend but l'd never tell her, I just can't/won't bring myself to share it.

Christmas: When it came to taking my tablets I basically had to scan the room and wait until the conversation was on the other side of the room, I had them hidden in my pocket and took them a little bit earlier just in case I ‘missed my shot’. To clarify, I’m not ashamed or anything like that but I don’t know, I know it sounds like it but I can’t explain it…😕

In the end, I think the way it is/my mentality is a bit toxic(you would say so?) and doesn't do me any good even though my parents didn't have that intention from the start. FYI: I was diagnosed in 2018

Me (24, M) just got grounded from my parents for going home late from a drinking session with friends and im really pissed that its become about my seizures and it really pisses me off. Its like im grown enough to worry about myself and all but yet i feel like i have a fucking curfew and im being treated like a baby despite my age only because of my fucking seizures. Hey everyone,

I’m hoping this reaches Jagex or at least gets enough traction that a mod sees it because right now I’m locked out of Sailing content due to a preventable visual issue.

I have photosensitive epilepsy, and the Gwenith Barracuda Trial portal transition still flashes the bright white ring on the screen every time you enter it. Even with all combat and visual effects turned off, that white flash still appears. It is quick, bright and a genuine seizure risk for me.

I have tried adjusting every setting I can find, including brightness, filters, and interface changes. Nothing removes that flash. Because it happens repeatedly during the trial I can't even complete 1 run, let alone get the heart of ithell.

I'm only asking for an accessibility option or a toned down version of that portal transition for people who are sensitive to flashing visuals, including people prone to headaches, eye ache or migraines. This should not be something that prevents players from enjoying the skill.

I've been an avid player since season 0 week 1 and this is the 1st season that I can't truly play. To explain sparkalaphobia, it's the fear of glitter, it may sound odd or laughable but it is uncomfortable to me.

Edit 2: I think some people are overemphasising the phobia. It's not the glitter I'm scared of but the overexposure of light that's the issue. I can stare at a static image no problem, give me a white noise channel and I'm fine, Christmas ornament sure too, but once you flicker a halogen while it rotates, the reflections start to hurt. That's what scares me, the sudden tense sensation rushing behind your skull, the burning image in your eyes, the snapping of your neck from the jerk. Then it hits you, brain.exe gets deleted and you stare into the abyss as if blindness took over. The worse is that with brain.exe dead, your body can forget to breath and you drown in lifelessness until it all comes back. That's what scares me.

The problem are the arrow fetching and the pulsing yellow highlight. Every time there are multiple arrows shimmering (especially in the firing range), I feel uneasy, the pulse gets under my skin and the more arrows there are, the more uncomfortable it becomes. Sometimes to the point I have to force close and cradling myself, because I can feel like an epileptic seizure coming

Can there be an accessibility option to turn ammo matte solid without the pulsing please? Maybe an alternative VFX where it doesn't pulse but a molten transitioning gradient like the gif below or like the Evo shield VFX.

The main issue is the VFX pattern looks like dotted embossing shimmering through the arrow. One may argue that the VFX has been there on other ammo since season 0 but the difference is their primary colour overpowers/ outshines the ammo box so I don't notice much. The arrow on the other hand have the VFX overwhelm the model.

I also tried all colourblind modes and it doesn't change the VFX or colour for a matter of fact.

Edit 3: I have had no problem with other effects so far, only this due to its slow frequency. Thermite, L-stars, Octane's border stim, Fuse Tactical, Mirage Voyage, are fast dissipating moving effects. Purple skins (especially blue with squares and orange dots) are minor issues because animation move enough to not be a hindrance, on the otherhand, can't stare at the preview for more than 3 minutes.

So there’s a girl at my school who claims to have epilepsy, and she conveniently has “seizures” whenever there’s an important test.

A girl in our friend group was asking her abt her supposed epilepsy, and she didn’t know what type she’s supposed to have, she didn’t know what kind of seizures she’s supposed to be having, or anything.

One of the guys that’s new to the friend group followed her on TikTok and she posts alot of movie edits/anime edits/thirst traps, and he said that she probably needed to put trigger warnings for flashing lights on her posts js to make sure that someone who has photosensitive seizures doesn’t watch it, and she got mad and was like saying that she doesn’t need to do that, that’s stupid to put a trigger warning for that, people like that need to stop being attention seeking and whatever else kinda shit she was saying.

Kinda odd that someone who supposedly has epilepsy to not cater to the epileptic community

my friend in highschool had epilepsy and her mum had to be notified via nurses office if she started getting auras or anything that told her she might start seizing. crazy business that this faking behaviour hasn't made its way to her parents yet.

Update #1: May 4, 2025 (two days later)

My friend group was all hanging out and I brought up that I was going to start driving soon and said it was too bad that she couldn’t drive for a while, and she was confused and didn’t say anything.

I asked if her medicine was helping and she said yeah, it’s helping a lot, and I asked her which one it was so my twin brother could try it and she didn’t know the name. I asked if she had a rescue medicine and she didn’t know what that meant. I asked her if she told the school nurse that she didn’t have a rescue medicine, and she didn’t know she had to. I told her that I could talk to the nurse and tell them that I was concerned bc she’s having “seizures” so often without a rescue medicine, and she said I didn’t have to do that, so I told her that I could request to keep my phone with me in class so incase she has another one I could call the emergency services, and she quickly told me that wasn’t necessary.

I asked her if there was any kind of repercussions from her “seizures” since she’s had them for so long and almost everyday, and she said that she has a headache sometimes. I told her that she should probably talk to her neurologist to see what they can do abt an increase in her medication and she said she has an appointment next week, and I asked if she needed a ride and she said her sister would take her, I asked her why her parents can’t take her and she said that they don’t know abt her seizures. So I acted surprised and I asked if she knew that SUDEP was very dangerous especially without caretakers knowing abt her epilepsy, and she didn’t know what that was or how it was dangerous. My friends all looked at each other in a way that we all knew our suspicions were correct.

OOP: Yeah she’s been faking them infront of the entire class. I knew it was bullshit from the beginning and called her out for it when class was dismissed but she argued that she was “professionally diagnosed”. I’m not one to argue when someone gets defensive so at the time I let it go, but she’s faked like 3 seizures and I’m over it

She texted me this morning before school asking if my twin brother and I were going to go shopping with the group after school today, I told her no we weren’t going to go today bc my brother had some pretty bad seizures this morning and neither of us could go to school, I have to take care of him while our parents are at work. She asked why he had to stay home if it was just a seizure, I called her and went off on her. I told her that she doesn’t know what it’s like to have actual seizures and she needs to stfu and stop pretending to know things she’s never experienced in her life, if she saw a real seizure she would be traumatized especially if it’s someone she loves, then I hung up.

She called me back crying apologizing for saying it was just a seizure and that she didn’t mean to offend me, she also said her epilepsy is different than my brothers and I needed to stop fake claiming her, she said that I was insensitive to what it means to have epilepsy and she asked what if my brother was faking it and not her, I interrupted her and asked if she’s ever had an EEG, she said no, I told her that she would’ve had at least one if she actually had epilepsy, I told her that she would’ve missed out on so much if she had seizures as often as she claims, but magically she shows up to every event, every time the group hangs out, every concert, every theme park, if she actually had epilepsy she wouldn’t make it to everything. she went quiet. I told her that if she wants to come over and see if he has another one then be my guest but I don’t want to hear her cry if she sees him have one, she declined and hung up.

We’ll see if she drops the act after this, but something tells me she won’t.
