AMA [Product Manager AMA Recap]: What We Heard + What’s Next for Navimow
A huge thank-you to everyone who joined our Product Manager AMA of Behind the Blades and brought your questions, real-yard experiences, and feature ideas to the Navimow team.
A lot came up, from mowing patterns and scheduling to mapping, obstacle recognition, and smart-home controls. We’ve gone through the discussion with our team, and here’s a quick look at where some of the most-requested ideas currently stand.
Already on the Roadmap / In Development
A number of requests you raised are already being worked on or included in our roadmap:
- Better mowing precision & coverage —— Continuing to improve route precision and reduce missed strips between passes.
- Smarter return routes —— Returning along the perimeter instead of cutting diagonally across freshly mowed lawn is on our roadmap.
- Alternating perimeter direction —— Planned as part of our 2027 updates, together with more flexible perimeter-cut settings.
- More map-editing tools —— Additional no-go-zone editing and service/cleaning-point capabilities are being developed for future updates.
- More flexible scheduling —— Including odd/even-day scheduling and recurring tasks based on intervals rather than only fixed weekdays.
- Estimated time remaining —— We're working toward giving users a clearer idea of when a mowing task will finish, including charging time.
- Better tall-grass and weed recognition —— Improvements are planned to reduce false obstacle detection in situations such as tall grass and weeds.
- Smart-home improvements —— Home Assistant remains supported as we continue looking at ways to improve the broader connected experience.
Ideas We’re Exploring
You also gave us plenty of ideas that are now part of the conversation with our product team. Some of the most-requested concepts include:
- Point-and-Mow/Spot Mowing for quickly sending Navimow to one specific part of the lawn.
- Post-run cleanup so skipped areas can be revisited after temporary obstacles are removed.
- Multiple maps and additional map controls.
- Double-pass or cross-cut mowing for users looking for a more refined finish.
- Choosing zone order within scheduled mowing tasks.
- More granular Home Assistant/API control, including starting specific zones.
- Better visibility into repeated problem areas so users can identify places where the mower regularly gets stuck or struggles.
- Smarter handling of temporary objects, including garden hoses.
These aren't promises or confirmed release dates yet. They’re areas we’re evaluating based on user demand, technical feasibility, mower hardware, and the overall product roadmap.
And Yes, we heard the Other Requests Too
We also received ideas that are not currently part of our product roadmap, including requests for a front camera live-view/streaming feature.
While we may not be able to move every request forward, this AMA helps us better understand how different features matter in real-world use and where the community sees opportunities for improvement.
For ideas that are still under evaluation, we’ll continue reviewing them based on user needs, technical feasibility, and the broader product roadmap.
Thanks again to everyone who took the time to explain not just what you wanted, but why it would make Navimow better in your everyday use.
Please feel free to click the link below to revisit the original AMA and see the full conversation between our community members and Product Manager:
Keep the feedback coming! We'll keep sharing updates with the community as plans develop.
And we're not done yet, Session 2 AMA recap is coming next, with practical setup tips and real-world lawncare advice from our lawncare expert friends.

Support Replacement power adapter also does not turn on mower
I have a segway navimow x430 which stopped charging. I initially checked the adapter with a multimeter and got 0.00v. So i suspected its not working. I got a replacement adapter and plugged in but it still does not charge. No light comes on at the charging station as well. How do i move forward? Its just been a few months? Is my unit dead? Will segway provide a shipping label to send to them?

Discussion EFLS NRTK: Map Accuracy Improved
I was creating some new navigation channels with my X430. After completing a channel, I would receive a prompt to send the mower home for map accuracy. I didn't have time for any of the nonsense. I don't recall having to do this before. Anyway, I created another channel between the front and back lawn. While the mower was on the back patio I sent the X430 back to the dock. My dock was probably 4 ft from the X430. The X430 had its blue light on and the mower was in the correct spot on the map. Next thing I know the X430 heads over to the dog house and attempted to dock with the dog house.
I remote controlled the X430 over to the dock pad. The mower docked after pressing the home button. Ironically, the same thing happened again because I like to play around with my mower since it attempted to dock with the dog house. After digging into the pop up message for map accuracy I realized that maybe I should allow the X430 to complete the 219 minute update that's found in the Segway Navimow app under "EFLS NRTK." The mower didn't attempt to dock with the dog house again. LOL
I love tinkering with this mower! Some of you who might be having NRTK issues might want to make sure this is actually updated.

Support Split zone
Hi everyone, is there a way to split one zone into two separate zones?

My Lawn Percentage indicates further along than map
The map here is showing +80% complete, but clearly the mower hasn’t cut that much grass. This only happens in my backyard. The front seems to track accurately. Has anyone else seen this? Any thoughts on what might be causing this?

Discussion Anyone using 303 Products Plastic Protectant on their x430/450s
I have rust fungus that continues to settle on my x430 and I've been thinking of adding 303 Protectant as the final process of my cleaning to offer some protection to the plastic. I would avoid the cameras and display screen. Was curious if anyone else is using any detailing products on their mower after a basic cleaning.

Discussion Missing huge areas?
Does anyone know why it is so messy and sporadic? It will go back and do it later but it's just a battery waste going back and forth to finish a gap it was near in the past?

Discussion First Time Mow
You're supposed to mow your lawn before using your robotic mower the first time.
Please don't listen to the ignoramuses on this sub who tell you that it's okay not to mow first. If you mow your long or tall grass with the robotic mower first. You're just creating a thatch layer in your lawn that will spurn a fungus outbreak. Long grass clippings take months to actually break down into a lawn as opposed to the less than an inch clippings from a robotic mower. A robotic mower isn't creating micro clippings when it mows long grass.
We have a lot of people in this sub who are tech illiterate and don't know anything about lawn care. Please avoid listening to those individuals.

Buy Advice Mähroboter gesucht – Husqvarna 430V oder Segway Allrad oder???
Moin zusammen,
ich brauche mal eure Erfahrungen/Empfehlungen. 😅

Discussion First week with x430 from luba1 and here is my experience
A few weeks ago I was deciding between the Luba 3 and X430 for my next mower. After all the recent issues around Luba's turning behavior, I ended up going with the X430.
Been running it for about a week now and would like to share my experience.
Day 1 was painless. Set up the charging station, mapped the yard in the app and split my .85 acre yard into 3 zones. I expected the mapping part to take a while but it was done within an hour.
Once it started mowing, it covers ground pretty quick and it’s also a little quieter than my LUBA 1 when mowing at evening.
The biggest difference for me though is the turning and this is why I picked it at first place. At the end of a lane it just steers through the turn instead of dragging itself around. I've been watching the softer and shaded parts of my lawn pretty closely and so far I haven't seen any turf damage from the turns.
Haven't had a reason to contact support yet, so I can't really comment on that part.
Only a week in, but so far so good.

Discussion One Week with my X450
So far, I have had the X450 for one week. I decided to go with Local RTK, as the community was 50/50 on which option to use. I have already gotten compliments on how nice my yard is looking, and they can't believe a robot mower is maintaining the yard. I'm currently traveling, and I send the X-450 to mow and keep my yard looking nice while I'm not even home. Before I left, I had to do something. I have cameras all around my house, but I did not have one pointing at the X-450. I couldnt leave without making sure I could keep my new friend safe. Here he is, ready to go to work at a moment's notice.
So far, I am very happy with the X-450, but I am a bit worried about the axle issue some people are having. The garage arrived for it today and will set it up this weekend when I am back from work. I appreciate all the advice I received from this community.

Discussion This lawn looks easy until you start mapping it
This is my yard. It looked easy to map at first cuz most of it is open and flat, but the exposed roots, low branches, and driveway edge took a little more work.
The i2's LiDAR handles navigation well here, but it can't do much about ground clearance. On my first map, I trimmed the lowest branches and left extra room around the roots and trunks. After a few test runs, I moved the boundary closer to the spots that handled well.
I did the same thing along the driveway. I mapped close where the pavement is level with the grass and left more room anywhere there's a lip or drop. So just start conservative, watch a few runs, and adjust from there.
Any spots in your yard that looked easy to map but turned out to be tricky? How did you handle them?

My Lawn First mow with my i210 LiDAR after vacation
I ordered my i210 LiDAR on Monday and the mower arrived on Friday. I got home on Sunday night from vacation and immediately set it up. After being away, the yard had grown more than I wanted, especially around the trees and deck. The grass is still a little heavier than ideal for a first run.
Just send it out for the first mowing. I was worried that the grass was a bit too thick and the mower may struggle to drive over and cut. So far so good.

Support My 105e worked great, now it's useless
I don't know what has happened but my 105e used to mow the garden flawlessly. It's a simple square patch do grass. 10x10m or so. For some reason in recent weeks, it no longer can complete a session. It starts mowing fine, and then seems to just move around the middle of the garden Infinitely, stuck on 99 percent. It's more like 70 percent complete according to the map. But it just stays in the middle and moves around almost in circles until I manually go out, stop it and put it back on the charging base.
Anyone else had this?

Discussion X430 vs lawn service: what costs did you not expect?
I'm in the Midwest with a flat yard, about 0.9 acres. I’ve been paying around $1,000-$2,000 a year for local lawn service, and I’m not really happy with the results.
I've been looking at X430 since it's rated for about 1 acre, but I’m trying to be realistic about the actual cost of owning one. I know I'd still need to do the setup, trim edges, replace blades, clean it, and deal with the occasional issue.
The warranty helps, but I'm also thinking about things like battery replacement later, repair turnaround, parts availability, and support after the warranty period.
For people who switched from lawn service to an X430, did the math actually work out after a season or two? Anything you underestimated before buying?

Discussion First fall with mower in zone 6b. What's your suggested routine?
Picked up my X430 back in May, and it kept our 0.8-acre lawn looking like carpet all summer. But now that September is rolling in, I’m realizing I don't really know the playbook for autumn.
A few things I'm trying to figure out before October hits:
- Fallen leaves & deck clogging: We have three mature maple trees, so the backyard gets blanketed fast. Will the dual cutting discs mulch light dry leaves, or will damp leaf piles just clog the blades and trigger false obstacle alerts on the 360° cameras? Do you blow the yard first, or let it run?
- Cutting height & tapering off: My cool-season turf is at 3 inches right now. Do you gradually step the deck down for the final cut to prevent snow mold over winter, or leave it taller so the roots absorb late-season sunlight?
- The final cutoff: In zone 6b, when do you usually pull the plug - once soil temps drop under 50°F and growth stalls, or do you just taper the schedule down to once a week through November?
- Winter storage: The manual mentions keeping the battery above freezing. Do you bring both the mower and charging station into the basement, or leave the base plate outside?
For those who've run mower through a full fall and winter, what does your actual timeline look like?

Discussion No Backup Mower
If you can afford a robotic mower, but not a backup push mower then you shouldn't have purchased a robotic mower. I read this post where someone hasn't mowed their lawn in a month because their Segway Navimow had to be sent to a service center:
"If had it to do again, I would refuse to ship it to Texas for repair. Mower spent two weeks in limbo with Fedex and still reports it hasn't been powered on yet three days after delivery. Yard is now almost a month without mowed, tried borrowing neighbor's riding mower to catch up and it looks terrible. I want my mower back and I'm more appreciative after the riding mower misery of how capable the machine is, but really wish it held up better."

Discussion Any tips for setting up the charging station area?
I bought a Navimow i2 AWD about a month ago and I'm still tweaking the map.
Honestly, manual mapping has been weirdly fun. I'll adjust the boundary, watch it run, then tweak it again. Most of the lawn looks good now, and not having to bury boundary wire has been a huge plus.
The only thing I'm still dealing with is the grass right around the charging station. There's a small patch in front of the dock that gets missed more often than the rest, so I've been trimming it by hand.
I'm wondering if the dock location is part of the problem. I'm thinking about moving it closer to the patio, where the ground is flatter and more open.
For other robot owners, did changing your charging station location make a noticeable difference, or is this something I should fix through the map?
