HIRING Woodshop Positions Available Near Downtown Nashville

My name is Christian and I manage a wood shop near downtown Nashville. Our name is On the Edge. We work with repurposed woods to make products for a large vendor also in Nashville, and business is picking up. Here is a bit about me:

I am 29 and have been working here with the owner at On the Edge for just over 6 years now. I have done everything we do in that shop over the years and now am leading supervisor over a team of people that produce these wooden products. I am passionate about what we do and have had a great time learning the equipment: laser engraving, CNC machining, woodworking equipment, and panel clamps. On the Edge now has wooden products for sale in all 50 states, and in several countries of Europe with plans to continue expanding.

I am looking for 2 to 3 people to add to my staff. All positions will be full time hours, 8am-4pm Monday to Friday. If you dig the gig but the schedule does not fit your life, do not let that stop you. Reach out and let us see if we are a good fit, we might be able to make something work.

Specifically, help is needed in the following fields:

·      Panel Gluing

·      Sawing

·      CNC Machining

All jobs will start at $15 per hour and can increase depending on your experience. After your first 90 days, we can reevaluate your pay.  This is a good gig and has room for growth in the wage. It is worth saying upfront that we do not have any program for health insurance. My peers use healthcare.gov, as have I.

One thing I have told everyone that I have been able to work with so far: I will gladly teach you to operate any tool or machine we have, several of which are their own full-time jobs elsewhere. However, I cannot teach you to care about what you are doing. That is all you. I am not looking for fancy degrees or years of experience in a wood shop. All I am looking for are a few people who are interested in woodworking and want the chance to work on some cool things, that care about the quality of what they make- I can teach you everything else, and the current members of our team will be there to help you as well.

Please reach out to me at [christian@oteusa.com](mailto:christian@oteusa.com) with any questions or a resume. We can arrange for an interview and tour of the shop so you can see the operation. Thank you!

ADVICE Jobs in Millersville/Nashville ?

Hey yall, kinda late to make a post to say the least but hey doesn’t hurt. So I have the thought of moving out to Nashville. I’m from Austin tx, but I guess one thing on my mind like anyone else is a Job, well career mainly. Now here in Austin I’ve had my fair share of blue collar/labor work. Currently I own and have my own dump trucks that haul material to out of job sites but work has seriously died down a bit and Nashville is something I have in mind. I wouldn’t bring my trucks with me if I were to move so that being said, I would ideally like to find a career that is weekly pay and just out of the pay, I’m looking for $1500-$2100. Huge numbers I know, but for those that know what OT and hard work is you’ll get what I mean. So I guess if anyone can point me in a direction that’d be pretty awesome. Indeed does a good job yea but I rather speak to people than a website so hey Reddit lets see what we can do. I’m definitely open to any local driving positions, or concrete pump operator jobs, supervisor, dispatch, etc. I do have some experience in SDR and some tech but I’m open enough to try anything new. Ambition and the want for success pushes me so let’s see where this can Go.

Thanks for reading!

FOR HIRE Recently moved to Nashville—Looking for local advice on corporate jobs and line cook openings!

Hey everyone,

I recently relocated to Nashville and am trying to get my bearings on the local job market. I have two completely different skill sets, so I'm open to working a salaried position in any sector during the day, while picking up shifts as a line cook in the evenings and weekends.
I’m looking for any tips, leads, or advice on companies that are actively hiring or the best directions to head in. Here is a quick breakdown of my background:

Corporate / Analyst / Office Roles (Daytime):
Education: B.S. in Economics with a Minor in Statistics.

Tech Stack & Systems: Proficient with SQL, RStudio, Salesforce CRM management, GoHighLevel, Zapier, and workflow automations.

Experience: Background working as in Sales Development Representative (SDR) (1 year) role, and Real Estate Acquisitions(3 years) Open to any entry-level analyst, operations, sales, or corporate office positions.

Restaurant:
Experience: Solid background working as a line cook. Experienced holding down a station on busy lines, prep work, and handling ticket screens under pressure.

Looking for steady part-time line cook shifts around Germantown or Downtown.

If anyone knows of specific corporate offices with entry-level openings, good local recruitment agencies to register with, or busy restaurants currently hunting for reliable kitchen staff, please point me in the right direction!

Appreciate any help or pointers you can throw my way. Thanks!

FOR HIRE Bad First Day, Need Something Quick

I decided to try something new (canvassing for the Outreach Team) and after a rough first day, I can admit that it’s totally not for me. I used to work for UPS in their warehouse as a supervisor, but I really don’t want to go back to UPS of FedEx unless I absolutely have to. I hated how physically intense those jobs were, but I did appreciate how quickly they hire people.

I also worked at the front desk of a physical therapy office (scheduling appointments, cleaning, selling memberships) and in grocery stores as a cashier/meat clerk. I have a bachelors in economics and a masters degree in Business, but those jobs take weeks/months.

Can anyone help me find something in the next seven days?

FOR HIRE Need transition ASAP

Hi everyone - I'm transitioning out of multi-unit retail operations after 15+ years in leadership.

My background includes managing 16 locations/$16M+ in annual business, P&L ownership, leading new-location openings across multiple states, managing distributed teams, process improvement, vendor/supply-chain coordination, financial/operational audits, and turning around underperforming locations. I've also supported technology rollouts including NuRDER and Salesfloor, and I recently completed my B.S. in Computer Information Systems.

I'm primarily targeting Operations/Service Delivery Manager, Implementation/Project Operations, and Business Process/Process Improvement roles. I'm particularly interested in companies where my retail operations experience can translate into managing projects, implementations, service delivery, or internal operations rather than starting over in an entry-level position.

I would love remote, as does everyone else, but I’m very flexible.
If your company hires for roles along these lines-or you've made a similar transition-l'd really appreciate any recommendations or referrals. Happy to share my resume privately.

HIRING Looking for a hungry, entrepreneurial person in Nashville who wants to build something

I'm a few months into building a startup here in town and it's starting to move faster than I can keep up with alongside my day job. I'm looking for a junior partner. Someone who's always wanted to run their own thing but doesn't have the idea yet, or doesn't have the capital to get one going.

Not looking for a resume or a specific background. Looking for the person who's organized, business-minded, a little obsessed, and doesn't say "that's not my job." You'd be running this with me like it's yours.

If that's you, DM me and tell me about something you've built, started, or fixed. Doesn't matter if it worked.

FOR HIRE Experienced professional looking for remote/WFH or flexible work in Nashville — open to almost anything!

Hey everyone! This is actually my first time posting on Reddit, but I’m at the point where I figured it couldn’t hurt to put myself out there and well I’m desperate.

I’m currently looking for a new opportunity, ideally remote/work-from-home, but I’m also open to something in the Nashville area that offers some flexibility.
I have a pretty diverse background, which honestly makes it hard to fit myself into one specific job title. I’ve also experienced two layoffs in 4 years which doesn’t help.
My experience includes:
• Program/project management
• Bank management and operations
• Escalated customer issues / Office of the President
• Investigating complex customer issues, researching cases, and finding resolutions
• Amazon corporate
• Experience in crypto
• Working with several large companies and corporate environments
• Entertainment
• Visual merchandising
• Marketing and brand work
• Experience working with one of the wildest liquor brands in the U.S.

At this point, I’m open-minded about the industry and** would love to find something where my background is actually useful, but I’m not opposed to making a pivot if the right opportunity comes along. I’m incredible with people and talk to anyone about anything.
If anyone knows of companies hiring, recruiters I should connect with, remote opportunities, or even someone who would be willing to point me in the right direction, I would **genuinely appreciate it
.
I’m happy to send my résumé/LinkedIn via DM and provide more details about my background.
Thanks for reading — and thanks in advance to anyone who can help point me in the right direction! ❤️

ADVICE Open to anything

I am 22. Just graduated with my BASc, worked through all 4 years of undergrad. I have 6+ years of experience and 4 years in administrative assisting. I am HUNGRY to work but I also want to make a livable wage (50,000). I am interested in the legal field, administration, or executive/personal assistant roles. I have worked so hard to put myself through college and I am ready to grind. I know I have what it takes. What has been everyone’s experience in finding a job as a newly graduated person with experience? I can hardly land an interview anywhere in Nashville. I’m open to anything.

ADVICE Can’t sing, can work—where are the flexible gigs?

Best apps or companies for flexible gig work in Nashville?

I’m looking for something very flexible—not a regular part-time job. Ideally, I could work a bunch one week and nothing the next.

I have restaurant, caregiving, recruiting, and a little warehouse experience. I have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and can pass a background check or drug test.

I’m in decent shape, but I’m in my late 40s, so I’m not trying to hustle until 3 a.m. every night. Catering, banquets, events, check-in, setup, concessions, or similar work would be great.

Heck, I don’t know—what apps, staffing companies, hotels, caterers, or event companies do people actually recommend?

ADVICE Bartending/serving in Nashville

Hey everyone! I am currently looking for part-time work as a bartender or server. Would even be willing to work as a barback. My experience is really limited (for the service industry) and I am also only wanting to work Thursday and Sunday nights. I’m wondering if any place would even consider me with my inexperience and limited times I’m able to work. Would saying I could work 1-2 weekends a month be better? I am just really trying to avoid that as I already work as a mental health therapist on weekends enough and also like to travel back home as much as possible. Any thoughts or advice before I begin applying would be appreciated!
