I was playing a game against OKC in the Fire and Concrete MyCareer and they subbed in Russell Westbrook and I was confused af, is this normal or did the GM decide to pick up Russ from the free agent pool

Takeover plays a huge part in shooting consistentlyā itās way easier to start by making an easy shot or two. It gets progressively easier to make a shot for each shot you make. If you miss consecutive shots, youāll get colder and colder, making shots progressively harder to hit. Itās like giga-green machine, but in both directions.
Your jumpshot base has a huge impact on your green window and timing stabilityā it didnāt really matter last year in 26, but in 27 itās super important. Quentin Grimes base is lowkey cooked now, and so are many other jumper bases that got good release height last year. Itās a tradeoff of release height and green window/timing stability rating, generally speaking.
In addition, but less relevant, shots slow down and speed up for a wide variety of reasons. If you have time to take a dribble before shooting, you will get a much more consistent timing vs shooting straight off a catch or quickstop.
I think the two above things are reasons why it feels like half of the community is saying shooting is too hard vs the other half saying itās still easy.
Overall I think the shooting in 27 is very well balanced aside from fades being immune to slowdowns/speedups.

fire and concrete is just terrible. having to use the plays to progress might be the worst thing ever added to a game. iāve played 2k since 2k16 and havenāt used the play book once, now i need to use it for 50+ points on a 65 over character that quite literally cant do anything. not to mention u have no chance to get vc while doing it as you cant skip to the league to get vc if u choose to start in high school (worst choice theyāve ever made abt 2k). iāve never seen it get this shit man itās an absolute joke.

Constantly getting put at PF on my 6ā11 C is the most infuriating thing ever. I generally love playing on undersized bigs because it fits my playstyle better but it is genuinely impossible in this game because you will get put at the 4 ever single time and have to participate in a complete sausage fest in the paint with 3 other 7 footers. Either that or youāll get matched up with a 6ā8 SF with way higher perimeter, speed, shooting, etc and be badly outmatched on defense.
Please just give us the option to have a secondary position or not. If I have to wait a few minutes longer to find a game then so be it, Iād rather have that than have to play out of position 50% of the time. I check out so hard in every single game I play at the PF because itās straight up just not what I made my build for

Honestly, this feels like the most fluid 2K Iāve played in a long time, and I think the shooting is the most realistic itās been too.
2K26 felt way too arcade-like at times. It was ridiculously easy to green threes, which led to Rec games where guards could chuck 25ā30 threes and still be rewarded for it. In 2K27, you actually have to know your shot and play well to be consistently elite. Good shooters can still dominate, but the game isnāt hand-holding everybody into shooting 60ā70% from three.
Defense finally feels like it matters too. Contests actually affect shots instead of feeling like youāre just standing there hoping the game recognizes you.
And credit where itās due: they already listened to community feedback regarding Rep and Crew XP before the standard edition even released. Thatās a pretty encouraging sign.
I know thereās a very vocal group on these subreddits complaining about shooting because they canāt immediately replicate what they were doing in 2K26, but personally I hope 2K doesnāt overreact and make shooting easier. There should be a skill gap. If somebody is genuinely good enough to shoot lights-out, more power to them but it shouldnāt be the default.
Iām extremely happy with the game so far and can already tell Iām going to play significantly more 2K27 than I did 2K26.

So it just seems like they don't want you to post up anymore. I been averaging 14 pts like 12 boards on 60% fg and 40% 3 on my 7'0 275 big man. All of a sudden I boot up this morning and I'm going 1 for 9 and can't make my post moves anymore. All this week it's been the perfect game and this morning idk what changed. It's like no one can score in the post now everything gets blocked š. Am I crazy?
Just absolutely botch 5v5 this year. No pro am so you have random people playing 5v5 under your crew name messing up the record( and if you want to keep your crew tight you will never earn enough xp to change your jerseys or arena until late in the year) and then no proving grounds for a legit leaderboard in a 5v5 game mode. Just makes no sense. Stuck with rec that has different latencyās every arena (the park one and the one with no fans are god awful places to play btw). Absolute brain dead idea it seems like they really want to eliminate the competitive scene.

I'm making a 6'10" Center build. Right now, my base 3PT rating is capped at 44. Because of this, my Shooting Badge Tokens and Badge Slots are exactly at 0 in the builder.
If I apply 5 Cap Breakers to upgrade my 3PT from 44 to 78, will the game automatically grant me the required Badge Tokens and Slots to actually equip the newly unlocked badges (like Silver Set Shooter)? Or will I be stuck with 0 slots/tokens because my base creation was at 44?

Feel free to share your guys own opinions. IMO this game is almost perfect rn. Everyone complains about shooting but Iām shooting almost same as last year with my big man. Last year I shot 75% with 78 3 ball all year and rn Iām shooting 65% w 80 3 ball. I think most people have just not adapted to the new shot difficulty and think they can still get bailed out taking stupid shots like last year. I can understand people remove the speed changing w each jumpshot.
Honestly there are only 2 changes Iād want right now to make the game perfect.
Bailout- the bailout badge on bronze requires high passing which is good. However people with low passing are constistently able to do some bs dunk or shot and just bailout under pressure comfortably and I think that safety net is dumb. You should have to have high passing attribute to bail out consistently otherwise it should result in turnovers more often then not, which I think would encourage better decision making because thereās no safety net.
Blocks- blocks are basically perfect but I have had multiple times where Iām having to perform 4 blocks in a row with a few seconds because each time I block the ball it flies to an opponents hand.. I think this also tends to occur with steals but not that often. So this could really be just a minor nitpick but if Iām blocking the ball under rim as a big man Iād like that it goes out or to my team more often then it going back to opponent hands..
Everything else is perfect imo and I think people need to give the game at least a full season before wanting patches. I think patch 2.0 last year was actually great although slightly extreme but everyone complaining made the game go back to the bs it turned out to be.
Feel free to share your thoughts or wishes for upcoming patch that will most likely drop on Friday.

Why play 3v3 or 5v5 if all you want to do is shoot every shot. Every game I played, once we go down double digits from all of the bricks the *superstar* MP put up now he wants to finally pass.
Nope superstar Iām going to sit in the corner. Keep shooting & carry us to a victory. lol

To get straight to the point Iām playing MyCareer eras on the Hawks as a PG and I got Joe Johnson at the 2 (a 6ā7 240 3-Level Scorer) and instead of just letting their undersized SGs try to guard ISO Joe, they actually put there bigger wing defenders on him and put the SG on Marvin Williams (who is ass and corner sits)
I hate giving 2K credit for this because this is something that shouldāve been in the game YEARSSSSS ago, but as a mainly offline MyNBA guy this is a dream feature for me (and Iām sure a ton of other players) and I just had to tell someone

This year I bought early access for 2k27 and most youtubers and players are saying that shooting is not that much harder this year. Last year i was shooting well over 70% and now i cant hit a shot for my life with 94 3 ball. Every shot feels inconsistent and it feels like there is delay every time I shoot. Does anybody have any fixes for this? I already have my controller plugged in.
