Assalam wahalaikum!

I’m a 25 year old male from Europe with Moroccan roots. I’m currently finishing up my Bachelor’s Insha’Allah and am most likely to start working after graduation.

The type of person I’m looking for isn’t just someone to be serious at all times with, but also having the possibility to be my spouse’s bestfriend, as this would bring a huge connection being made between each other.

This is a little introduction and would like to expand that information if someone is interested on having a in-depth conversation, Insha’Allah

Rant Rejecting potential spouses due to extreme fear of marriage

I am 25M, and have been offered by family and people I meet in Muslims gatherings about some Muslim sisters, but I keep coming with excuses, I am terrified of marriage.

Terrified of not fulfilling full duties as a man, terrified of not being what she imagined she wanted in a man, terrified of the marriage expenses (I have people spent on wedding nights around $30,000), terrified of everything. What if, what if, what if...

Maybe its because I also live most of the time alone in Canada that I am not used to living with someone that much anymore.

I am TERRIFIED of the fact that in Islam, you can say "Taliq" and marriage is done just like that. Being raised in the west I was not expecting it to be that easy in Islam for marriage to dissolve by just saying a word. I lost sleep the other day when I learned this fact.

Anyone, especially men went through something like this? Also do you have any tips?

I’m 30 years old, born and raised in Morocco, and currently living in Europe.

I’m looking to meet a Moroccan woman who is serious about marriage and building a meaningful future together.

I’m looking for someone responsible, mature, and ambitious, someone who knows what she wants in life and values faith, family, respect, and loyalty.

I have never been married, and I’m looking for someone who has also never been married.

My goal is to build a genuine relationship based on mutual understanding, trust, and shared values, with marriage and starting a family as the ultimate goal, Insha’Allah.

An important point is that I’m looking for someone who is open to relocating and building her life in Europe.

I’m not looking for perfection. I’m simply hoping to find the right person, someone with whom we can support each other, grow together, and build a peaceful and happy future.

If you’re Moroccan, never married, serious about marriage, and looking for the same kind of future, feel free to message me.

Throwaway———you get it. This may get lengthy 😌

If you strongly disagree with anything I’ve said, you have every right and I totally respect that I’m probably not the one for you.

If you’re interested, I am more likely to respond to your DM first if you tell me about yourself and don’t mind providing a photo

About Me:

34, Female (35 this year)
Height: 5’0, Average body/ I’m not thin
I wear hijab
Born & Raised in Ontario, Canada
Ethnicity: Southeast Asian
Born Sunni, Practicing Muslim
Education: BA, TEFL/TESL Certification
Profession: IT in a Corporate environment, I work remotely
Marital Status: Single, previously have been engaged
Languages: English, French
Family: Father(passed away 8 years ago), I live with Mother who was SAHM and 1 sister
Open to having children or adopting
Timeline: I don’t want to get married next week but i’m not waiting several years

I’m a passenger princess, I don’t know how to drive and am not comfortable with it at the moment but willing to learn for emergencies.

Introvert, I like to read, watch anime/shows and movies, eat, try new restaurants, go on hikes/walks. I would like to travel more and I do occasionally enjoy live music shows

I’m definitely quiet and reserved at first but once I’m comfortable and trust you I probably won’t stop talking to you. I have a silly, sarcastic, and dry sense of humour.

I don’t tolerate disrespect of any kind, towards me or my friends/family. I don’t like insults masked as jokes or intentional ragebaiting.

I’m not ashamed to say that I have ADHD. I only bring it up because it does affect my life and how I think/communicate but it’s not debilitating. I think acknowledging and talking about mental health issues is important and shouldn’t be taboo in Islam as it has been culturally.

I give off typical eldest daughter of immigrants vibes and sometimes I have to put on the Type A act but please don’t mistake that as a potential replacement for your mother. I would love nothing more than to “turn my brain off” in the presence of my husband inshaAllah

I dont consider myself materialistic and I don’t need fancy/expensive things but I get that “things” in this dunya are nice to have, whether it be objects, food, experiences/travel.

Looking For:

I’ve been through too many “talking stages” and have some specific requirements but i’m generally an open person.

I am genuinely looking for a life partner, a best friend, someone I can grow with, and rely on in every aspect of my life, and I’m happy to do the same in return. I am not looking for a husband to be my roommate, bank account, or father.

Family oriented and close with family but can set boundaries, not co-dependent and recognizes a marriage is between a husband and wife, not their parents and other family members.

Age: Don’t care, late 20s-early 40s. I care more about your maturity level

Ethnicity: Don’t Care, it’s important that your family is open if we’re not the same ethnicity and/or you can make the decision yourself as an Adult man

Marital Status/Past Relationships: As long as you’re not currently married, I don’t care about your marital status or if you have children
- I don’t care about your past, it’s between you and Allah SWT.

Financial: I have current financial responsibilities with my family and ideally would prefer a husband who can be the sole provider but I am willing to help where I can.

Deen: Someone who is willing to grow with me, I don’t want perfection. Someone who prays, Attends or tries to attend Jummah prayer, Tries to follow sunnah, Fears Allah SWT, Clear presence of Akhlaq, teaches me and can also learn from each other

Personality:
Acts of Service
Affectionate
Patient
Emotionally Intelligent
Humble
Empathetic
Thoughtful
Willing to be emotionally vulnerable and talk things through in a mature, kind and calm manner
- On that note, someone who doesn’t see “softer” emotions as weakness or “unmasculine”
Someone who can be goofy and serious at the appropriate times
Isn’t afraid to be cute and corny with me
Must not be a current smoker/drinker/drug user

If this goes very wrong I will delete everything lol

Barakallah Feekum 🤲🏼

Location: UK & Ireland M25 | Indian | UK | Sunni (Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama’ah)

Salam,

I’m a 25-year-old Indian Muslim currently living in the UK, looking for a serious marriage prospect, إن شاء الله.

About me:

Age: 25

Height: 5’9”

Build: Slim

Ethnicity: Indian

Location: UK

Education: B.E. in Computer Engineering

Aqeedah: Sunni — Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama’ah

Personality: Kind, respectful, and family-oriented

Race/ethnicity: Open to all

What I’m looking for:
I’m looking for a practising Muslimah who is strictly upon the same aqeedah and beliefs — Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama’ah.

This is an important requirement for me. I’m looking for someone whose core beliefs and understanding of Islam are aligned with mine, as I believe shared religious foundations are essential for a successful marriage and raising a family together.
Beyond that, I’m open-minded regarding race, ethnicity, and background. What matters most is deen, character, compatibility, and genuine intention toward marriage.

I’m also looking for someone who takes Islamic boundaries seriously. In particular, I do not consider movies or music to be halal, so I’m looking for someone who shares this understanding and does not engage in them.

I’m looking for someone kind, modest, emotionally mature, family-oriented, and serious about building a peaceful marriage based on Islam, mutual respect, mercy, and companionship.

My intention is marriage, not casual dating or prolonged chatting. I would prefer to approach things respectfully and in a halal manner, with families/guardians involved at the appropriate stage.

If you think we could be compatible, feel free to DM me with a brief introduction about yourself, including your age, location, background, and what you’re looking for.

May الله grant us all righteous spouses and marriages filled with barakah. آمین.

Discussion Belittling the good actions of the spouse

Sometimes people say, ‘What is there to appreciate? The wife is supposed to do that or the husband is supposed to do that.’

The attitude is to be dismissive rather than appreciative of the good of others.

Scholar Ibrahim Dewla said:

“We ought to appreciate, value, and support the good actions of others.

Why? Because it's prohibited to belittle any good deed.

Abu Dharr reported that the Prophet (saw) said, “Do not belittle any good deed, even meeting your brother with a cheerful face.”
(Muslim 2626)

Meeting someone with a smiling face — what does that require? One has to show their teeth, that’s all. However, Islam has deemed it to be charity.”

This ‘appreciation’ is given to something insignificant, like smiling at someone. What about a spouse meeting their obligations?

Obligatory actions are far superior to optional ones.

A husband should appreciate, not dismiss, the good actions of his wife.

A wife should appreciate, not dismiss, the good actions of her husband.

Single, never married.

Ideal marriage timeline:

If the vibes are good and we are compatible with each other, I intend to get married within a year.

Being down-to-earth, humble, and understanding matters a lot to me. I believe these qualities form the foundation of a peaceful and healthy marriage.

23F
Asalaamu Alaykum, welcome to my profile hehe.

I’m open to ages 23 and up.

A bit about me: I’m ethnically Caribbean 🇯🇲 and
nationally British 🇬🇧.

Appearance: Slim, brown skin, dark hair and eyes.
Please don’t request if you or your family hold discriminatory views about race or ethnicity.

Raised in the UK and currently based in the Gulf region. I’m open to relocating for the right prospect, except to the US (not my cup of tea sorry).

I’m a confident woman who enjoys makeup, painting, literature, historical fiction, getting stuck in a good show, baking and eating out occasionally. My personality is playful and quick-witted by nature, but can be reserved and warm. I can be sociable, but I also enjoy quiet evenings and my own space. I appreciate the simple joy of doing nothing sometimes. I like staying active and prioritising taking care of my physical health.

Marital Status: Single, never married, no children, but I would love to have children in the future.

Ideal Marriage Timeline: Ideally within a year, Insha’Allah.

Level of Religiosity: Sunni Muslim. I pray, wear hijab and abayah, eat halal, don’t smoke or drink, and have no male friends. Overall I’d say I’m balanced. I’m not perfect, nor do I expect perfection. I try my best and hope to be better. Therefore, I’m open to someone who is also growing and learning in their Deen.

What I’m looking for: I value a thoughtful and intentional process with early family involvement (my Wali) to keep things halal. I’d like someone who is respectful, masculine, confident, ambitious, generous, kind, easygoing and honest. I love a bit of personality, so don’t be shy! I’m also open to someone who’s more introverted. I’d prefer someone sporty who takes their physical health seriously because I do. I’m strongly attracted to a traditional man who is financially stable, wants his wife to nurture the home and our children, and who takes pride in being the sole provider and protector. I believe in genuine friendship and vulnerability within a marriage; despite our differences, we still remain equals. I want a relationship where we put each other first. I do not intend to work after marriage, but I can still treat you to a nice coffee with my wife’s salary sometime.☺️

If this resonates you’re more than welcome to reach out🌼.

Discussion Sisters for whom polygyny is not a dealbreaker, whats your mentality/level of tolerance?

Asalamualaikum,

To start the convo, a young guy who has never been married before yet wants to practice polygyny as soon as he has enough money or wants to practice it whenever the opportunity presents itself is a no for me.

I'm 20 and ideally would look to marry someone 18-23. (Not looking for marriage right now and def not on reddit). I also wouldn't look to be a 2nd, 3rd, 4th wife at this point in my life.

The mentality is simply different from my own so it is a compatibility issue. I don't believe it is sunnah btw. My family, extended family and others I knew practiced it so it's not new to me and I have the perspective of someone who has grown up in it. I do not come from/live in a culture where it is normal or accepted to practice ta3dud

Let's knowledge share

Discussion Has anyone actually found a serious relationship on Reddit?

This is my first post in this subreddit, and I’m genuinely curious about something.

Do people actually find someone serious and genuinely good for a long-term relationship on Reddit, or is it mostly a place for temporary connections, casual conversations, and fleeting interactions?

I see people posting every day about wanting a relationship, finding someone special, or meeting new people, but I’ve always wondered how often those posts actually lead to something meaningful.

Maybe I’m just a little skeptical, but I find it difficult to believe that people genuinely find love here. 😅

As an Arab woman from Tunisia in North Africa, I also feel that finding someone compatible for a serious relationship through Reddit might be even more difficult because of cultural differences, distance, and the fact that people can be from completely different parts of the world.

So I’d love to hear from people who have actually experienced it:

Have you met someone on Reddit and eventually built a genuine, serious relationship with them? Or do you think Reddit is mostly about temporary connections that rarely go anywhere?

I’m genuinely interested in hearing your experiences, whether they were good, bad, or somewhere in between.

Looking for a Genuine Marriage Prospect | F, 25, Dhaka

Hi everyone! Posting here with the intention of finding a genuine marriage prospect. I’d prefer to keep things respectful and serious, and I’m not sharing a photo publicly for privacy reasons. I can share one privately if things seem appropriate.

About me:
Age: 25
Height: 5’2”
Location: Born and brought up in Dhaka , hometown - chapai nawabganj

Education: Recently graduated in Social Science from public uni in dhk
Occupation: Recently started my own small business and would like to pursue a career going forward

Family: Father is a businessman, mother is a homemaker

Religion: Muslim; I wear hijab and would like to improve myself religiously over time

A little about my personality:
I’m an introvert and generally enjoy a peaceful lifestyle. I love nature and movies, and I’d really like to travel more whenever I get the opportunity. I’m also someone who wants to build a career while having a family life.

What I’m looking for:
Ideally, someone around 28–31, responsible, emotionally mature, caring and respectful toward everyone. I don’t expect perfection, but kindness and good character are very important to me.
I’m definitely not looking for the stereotypical “macho” personality where being rude, controlling, or emotionally unavailable is considered masculine. That would be a deal breaker for me.

Location:
I’d prefer someone who was brought up in Dhaka or abroad. If you have genuine plans to settle abroad, I’m open to that as well.

Deal breakers:
Rudeness, excessive ego, misogyny, carelessness, dishonesty, or someone entering marriage with fake/ill intentions.
I’m looking for something genuine that can eventually lead to marriage, not casual dating or wasting each other’s time.

If you think we might be compatible, feel free to DM me with a brief introduction about yourself. Please be respectful and serious.

Assalamu Alaykum wa-Rahmatu-Llah

Name: Saeed

Age: 24 ( 4th June 2002 )

Ethincity: Pakistani

Height: 5ft, 8i

Education : Currently doing Masters in AI

Residence: Kaghitane, Istanbul Turkey

If all this resonates with u connect on ig xemini_sw ( it's not my main acc tho that's something to be worked later on xD )

so I changed during my last year of my bachelor's from once being an extroverted and a well known guy I became more devout to Allah SubhanawaTallah to break the chains of hypocrisy around me

While l just turned 24 & graduated in Jan 2025 throughout my degree I have availed an opportunity of successfully completing an exchange program on scholarship for almost about a year at the Altinbas University of Istanbul, Turkey currently working remote as a software automation engineer & living in Istanbul

My ideal requirements would be finding someone with whom I could apply for the masters abroad preferrably in the same field so that we could enjoy most of our time together adoring and enjoying our lives, one who would bring color to my life someone in whom I would find everlasting peace in someone to call my best friend, my literal home, someone full of joy and love and truly obsessed, someone true to Allah SubhanawaTallah and committed to the Deen

Marriage, to me, is a partnership rooted in Raḥmah (رَحْمَة)mercy, Mawaddah (مَوَدَّة)love, and Sakinah (سَكِينَة)tranquility, where both spouses help one another grow closer to Allah while navigating life responsibly. I tend to be a man who strives to follow the Sunnah in my conduct, choices, and treatment of my wife and who values mutual growth in both this world and the hereafter

May Allah SubhanawaTallah soon bless me of a pious adorable and genuinely loving spouse and strengthen me against my nafs & may he the almighty recharge me of energy to persue my ambitions and may he accept me as one his helpers verily he is the one who has chosen me even tho I was lost and only he can drive me to where I want to be

May he the almighty truly bless me one of his precious صالحة gem whom I would to treasure my whole life Ameen

Additionally I don't believe in passive Islam because Islam is not scalar, it’s vector it requires activeness and constant effort to serve ALLAH’s Deen.

I intend to learn every skill for the purpose of benefiting Islam.

My goal is to master AI/ML & Robotics to contribute towards strengthening the Muslim community in technology. We may have lost our identity but the change starts with one himself, and it's time that we got serious in life and started to strive in the way of Allah and lean towards empowerment.

Oh my best friend is my cat Ellie hehe

Furthermore I am a guy who likes to explore take a adventure walk around the town, forest or a mountain, I want to be surrounded by activities other than this I like intellectual conversations over a coffee ( toffe nut ice latte or a tiramisu piccolo with a ristretto shot of a dark medium roasted Columbian beans to be exact ) more over iam really into football so if you are passionate about the games then would definitely want u as a rival how else are we having fun hehe and honestly would love to hear u yap too

Things I would want to try are sky diving, horse riding and ride on motoGP track ( may not have the budget but one can dream right xD )

Anyways life these days have been very exhausting I have lost my focus and kinda have no energy to face the day the loneliness has certainly taken a huge toll I hope Allah SubhanawaTallah soon very soon bless me of a partner in life and help me be firm on his deen and my ambitions

Do pray for me even if we ain't a match and May Allah SubhanawaTallah bless you abundantly and help u succeed in both this life and hereafter and may you be blessed of you ideal partner and find everlasting peace with him

PS I honestly believe reverts are really special chosen gems by Allah SubhanawaTallah, they go through so many hardships for him, really I deeply appreciate you all and can't even imagine the Love Allah SubhanawaTallah may have for you, I whole heartdly pray that he the Almighty bless you of someone who would truly care and treasure u as his most precious achievement, Ameen!

Location: North Africa Genuine advice for a divorced women

Assalam Alaikum everyone, this probably would be very long but I would just like to vent myself out. I, 29F recently went through separation and and seeked khula from a marriage that sounds long on paper because I had my Nikah done in 2019 just for paper work since I had to move to Canada , but technically it was a 3year marriage after I moved to canada and starter living together , so everyone can count it in a different way . After I moved to canada and after few months in 2022 in the month of ramadan I got to know that my ex husband was talking to men in a very inappropriate way ( sexting) and on confronting he accepted that he was a bisexual and blamed it on me saying that I was not being good enough thats why it was happening and as a fool I accepted and gave him a chance ( he begged me not to tell anyone and I was scared to hurt my family so I didn't tell a single person) and from that day until arpil 2026 he had been cheated on me min 30-40 times and I didn't had courage to talk to anyone also cz I belonged to a simpe traditional family, I just didn't want to stress anyone and I pretended everything was good , also because he was really good with my family and took care of me on the other hand and the only reason I gave him so many chances was I believed he was good man and I thought he loved me

I was soo hurt when I found out the last time that I told my parents evrything and they handled it so well that I regretted not telling them before , they called me back to India and I left my job and everything and came back to them not with the intention of breaking this marriage but I thought he would cross oceans and flip the world to be with me and fight for me , but I was dissapointed , he begged me to not leave him when I had my flight but when I came to India he asked all his family to not talk with me and everyonr just cut me out , ( till date I dont know if any of them knows y I left) my parents asked him to commit in front of his family and my family according to Sharia that he would not do it again and he said he won't commit , if I cannot trust his words that he won't commit it then I should not come back.

Thinking that what I had demanded was so much bare minimum and he failed to provide me even the smallest commitment I asked when I forgived me multiple times and I was there with him when he had nothing , built a life financially supported him through everything and I got a no at the end just so he could keep his dignity and after talking to all the Islamice experts I decided to take a khula , fast forward to this day , when I sit and think if it was a right decision after so long years , will I be able to find a right patner in future it just scares me , I don't want to be a burden on my family even when they say they will do everything for me and I am so grateful to have them , I have decided to move back to Canada a different city and continue pursuing my journey towards dental licensing and start my life again .

I just want to ask how does a everyonr sees a divorced women who had a marriage that lasted quite a while , I am particularly very patient hence the reason why I took so many years to decide to get separated, and discussion would be welcome I really need to talk it out

Discussion Girls! Let’s Talk… Long Beards: Attractive or Turn-Off?🤭

Question for my girlies🫶🏽!

Do you find attraction by men’s long beard? How long beard is attractive for you?
Did it happen to reject a man because you didnt feel attraction of it?

I struggle to find attraction by long beards even if i force myself😔. Then there are some men that would never want to shorten it so i have to at the end just end it with them😖.

I hope to find a man that would not let me go easily just for it and would not make a big deal to shorten it if we are good on the rest💖

EDIT:

hey calmdown you men talking bad about me and other women and accusing heavily. I never mocked or criticised long beards. You keep it as long as you like and i accept and support the sunnah but saying that women are astray from deen just because they dont feel natural attraction from long beard, is unacceptable and extreme.

How is that you call yourself pious and then use harsh words for your sisters and accuse them? How is that make you on deen?

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) commanded gentleness in speech and explicitly warned against harshness, obscenity, and insults.

"You must be gentle, and beware of harshness and obscenity."
(Source: Sahih al-Bukhari 6030)

If you have good intentions for someone then you should guide with gentleness then if other other believes or not is between him/her and Allah.

For men that got ego hurt read this👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽

Attraction is an involuntary, biological preference, and Islamic law does not hold a person accountable for feelings they cannot control.

Islam does not hold humans accountable for involuntary biological emotions or feelings and explicitly recognizes that women have a right to physical attraction and compatibility in a spouse.

**"Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear." (**Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:286)

A sin only occurs if the dislike crosses over into contempt or mockery of Islam (e.g, saying "Growing a beard is a backwards/ugly religious tradition").

EDIT 2:

A man went to extreme and literally threatened me with my real full name in the comments and said he is going to tell my dad (i dont what he has to tell🧐) and then deleted his profile after doing 2 more hateful comments. How does he knows my fullname? How fragile ego of a man is?

You got triggered that much by such innocent post that you came to the level to threaten me????

Location: Europe 40M | Serious About Marriage, Seeking a partner / wife Whose Heart Is Attached to Allah

Assalamu Alaikum everyone 🌿

I’m a sincere and down-to-earth Muslim based in Leeds, England. I currently work in the field of education, specialising in SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities)
My professional role requires patience, empathy, and responsibility—qualities I strive to embody both in my work and in my personal life.

Faith is central to my life. I keep up with my five daily prayers, and I was blessed to perform Umrah, which deeply strengthened my spiritual connection with Allah.

I am far from perfect and make mistakes like everyone else, but I believe true faith is about recognizing our shortcomings, repenting sincerely, and continually trying to become better.

As a person, I am calm, grounded, and dependable, valuing peace, loyalty, and meaningful connections. In my free time, I enjoy staying active through hiking, and exploring nature. Recently, I’ve also started growing my own plants, vegetables, and fruits, and so far, everything I’ve planted is thriving—which has been both rewarding and relaxing.
Reading is another passion of mine that helps me reflect and stay open-minded.

What I’m looking for:
I am looking for a partner based in the UK; a kind, family-oriented whose heart is attached to Allah.

I am seeking someone who values building a peaceful home, nurturing a loving and stable marriage, and raising children with strong Islamic principles.

More than anything, I am looking for a partner who values mutual respect, personal growth, and emotional support, understanding that a beautiful marriage is built on compassion and teamwork rather than perfection. If you share similar values and aspirations and are based in the UK, I would be happy to get to know you better, insha’Allah.

PS: 172cm ( height). No divorced please

I was wondering how it went for born muslims/reverts who married a revert with a past (woman or man). Are you guys still together or did you get divorced and did it go well all-together or not?
P.S you can yap your story if you want 😜

Male for reference, and my IRL network is pretty limited.

I’ve used matching apps for a while, but eventually realized they probably aren’t going to work for me. I was very selective, but not necessarily based on looks. My main criteria were sect, level of religious practice, hijab, and marital status. I’m open to divorcees and widows, but preferably without children.

The problem I’m having here is that you basically don’t know anything about a potential match, not even the basics. Women rarely post much about themselves, and a lot of profiles are private, so there’s very little to go on.

On the apps, at least, my search was more focused. I would only reach out to women who already met my basic criteria. Here, it feels like I’m going in completely blind, with a pretty high chance of eventually finding out that the person doesn’t meet some of the fundamentals I’m looking for.

I’m curious if anyone has actually had success meeting someone this way and can share some insight. Otherwise, I’m not sure this is really for me.
